Huck PAC Endorses Rich Nugent For Congress In Florida

Huck PAC and I are pleased to support Rich Nugent for Congress, for Florida’s 5th District. Rich has selflessly served his country and community for more than four decades, first serving in the Air National Guard and then beginning his career in public safety and law enforcement.
Sheriff Nugent is pro-traditional family values, like the right to life, the definition of marriage as a union between one man and one woman and the rights of Americans to keep and bear firearms. Sheriff Nugent will use his law enforcement experience to ensure that the borders are sealed and the immigration laws are strengthened and dutifully enforced – and Rich will never support amnesty for those who have entered our country illegally.

Rich will fight the liberal left’s hijacking of our healthcare system and work to repeal it. Rich opposes Medicare cuts and wants to ensure the people of Florida can keep the coverage they already have. Rich believes we need common sense solutions that actually reduce the cost of healthcare for everyone.

I’m confident with the presence of a Congressman like Rich Nugent we’ll see real positive change in Washington. Please join me in supporting Sheriff Rich Nugent, and let’s send him to Congress.

Learn more about Rich on his website www.nugentforcongress.com.

Re: Rich Nugent and Jason Sager

Governor Huckabee identifies "experience" and "measurable service" as the possible factors that I believe set Richard Nugent apart from fellow opponent Jason Sager in the GOP primary for the 5th District in Florida.

While Mr. Sager is a patriotic young man with a vast knowledge of US history, his rather unconventional service to the nation these last ten years or so may not be enough to justify an endorsement from Mike at this time.

I do not think Mr. Sager should take it personally or assume Mr Nugent is the "establishment" pick. Some other blogs have suggested Mr Sager spend time tempering himself and serving on local community council and local office posts so as to learn more about the community and to be able to spend time with his young family while doing it.

Overall, it is just that Richard Nugent is at the next step in his life to use his experience to perhaps move up to the next level of community service by going to DC. He also is not a career politician but he does have many strong qualities that are needed at this time in DC. Perhaps in time Mr Sager will become a voice at the national level. Hopefully he will be able to support Nugent in the meantime should Sheriff Nugent win in the primary. They seem to have more similarities than differences.

Re: Richard Nugent and Jason Sager

Anyone care to share why one would select Richard over Jason in the 5th? My guess is it has something to do with the word "experience" and "measured service" Mike alludes to in his statement above.

My hope is Jason does not take the Huckabee endorsement of Nugent personally. It just seems that Rich's experience trumps Jason's and hopefully, if Rich wins, Jason will get behind Rich seeing him not as the "establishment pick" as some try to suggest, but simply as an older and more experienced man who can use that age and experience now at a time when it is very much needed in DC.

Perhaps Jason can learn a lot from him and also use this chance as others suggest at other blogs on this race to run for a local community council office to temper himself, serve a local community and better serve his young family at this time.

You've really loaded up in the South East and South West. How about the other two corners? I'm sure Paul LePage in Maine and Dino Rossi in Washington would appreciate a hand, and have the records and values to deserve it.

Thanks for all you're doing in the rest of the country.
