Huckabee Statement On Death Of Osama Bin Laden

The following is the text for Governor Mike Huckabee's opening commentary on the Huckabee Report and his statement on the news of Bin Laden's death:

"It is unusual to celebrate a death, but today Americans and decent people the world over cheer the news that madman, murderer and terrorist Osama Bin Laden is dead. The leader of Al Qaeda--- responsible for the deaths of 3000 innocent citizens on September 11, 2001, and whose maniacal hate is responsible for the deaths of thousands of US servicemen and women was killed by U.S. military. President Obama confirmed the announcement late last night. DNA tests confirmed his death and his body is in the possession of the U. S.

It has taken a long time for this monster to be brought to justice. Welcome to hell, bin Laden. Let us all hope that his demise will serve notice to Islamic radicals the world over that the United States will be relentless in tracking down and terminating those who would inflict terror, mayhem and death on any of our citizens."

the one thing that comes to mind is 'an eye for an eye' he killed alot of people, including alot of Americans. In my opinion, I think this is not over with yet! This is only the begining, there will be others that will step up in his place and do more damage to the American land or the public. EVERYONE PLEASE PRAY! that the government officals have the knowledge to surpass the obsticle. and lets bring GOD back to America!

    Dear Gov. Huckabee:

Thank you for showing the right kind of determination to defeat terrorists who use Islam as a weapon. We must fight them on all levels: militarily, politically, ideologically, and morally.

At 1:15 PM ET today The Wall Street Journal's wsj.com online Web site asked, "Does the Huck Stop Here?" The article quoted Ed Rollins, who it says has been organizing your 2012 campaign-in-waiting, as saying that he has not been consulted about the major announcement anticipated on your Saturday evening show on Fox News. Mr. Rollins is quoted as saying, "I said, 'If you don't have the fire in the belly, don't go. I can't want it more for him than he wants it for himself."

Please ignore that advice from Mr. Rollins. This is not about you. This is about the future of America. You shouldn't be running for president for yourself. You should be running for the people of the U.S. and for the people of the world, including the unborn children.

I actively supported you during the 2008 presidential contest. I had never before been so excited about a candidate for any office. I'm convinced that you would be a much better president than President Obama.

If you decide not to run, you will be denying the people the opportunity to decide whether you are the best candidate. Please run, and let the people decide.

    Dear Mike,

I would vote for you in a heartbeat for public office, but I really didn't like the "Welcome to Hell" comment. It along with the joke about Obama being shot ('08) are disconcerting. I recognize that you are a person who talks publicly for a living and that makes your mouth dangerous. I will pray for you as Jesus said, "out of the heart…Luke 6:45

From the heart (the flesh) I understand anger toward Osama, but you and I know even HE was made in the image of God. He was not Satan and an eternal hell is beyond anything we can say.

Please help us support you to the White House!

    Blessings,

Regardless of the negative opinions of your choice of words in your reference to "hell," you sure got a lot of responses, Governor. I recall the days when there was a lot of talk about hell, and indeed it was an attention grabber--so much that it got my attention as a ten-year-old when an old fashion Southern Baptist preacher spoke of hellfire and brimstone and I responded to his invitation to come to an old fashion alter to accept Christ as my saviour and be saved from that terrible place.

Actually this word has been around for quite a while as it was mentioned in the Bible more times than Heaven. Jesus spoke of the rich man who had "lifted up his eyes in hell," Isaiah prophesied that "hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure." The Apostle Paul told Simon the Sourcer that his money would perish with him.

Yes, the word "hell" is a very serious and powerful word that describes a state of eternal separation from God, and He does not intend for anyone to go there as it was prepared for the devil and his angels, and one only goes there as a destiny they have chosen for themselves.

Whether the "welcome to hell" was appropriate in this context, I'm not sure--it's really not my call since I am a supporter and not a lawyer or political advisor 'though I sure would love to see you run!! :)

I too am pleased that Osama is gone, But I was greatly disappointed in the party like atmosphere it created. I also was disappointed in your remark, "Welcome to Hell."" just not befitting the man I would like to see as the president of the United States. I still pray for all of you considering running, that you may seek God's guidance.

I am proud of the HuckPAC community today. It seems that the consensus of the more than 300 comments on this thread is that Americans should feel free to celebrate that a major symbolic threat to our national security has finally been removed, but should not have a blood-thirsty attitude about it.

Mike Huckabee was a tower of strength in the 2008 election when he said that his Christian faith defined him. I hope this will continue to be the case if he decides to run again in 2012.

    Dear Mike,
as a former Firefighter, I was happy that the US Finally caught & was able to kill UBL, he was a murderer & deserved everything that he got in the end! I attend church every week religously & even have stared a bible study group in our neighborhood with some fellow Christians where we are going to study parts of the Bible as well...
Saying Welcome to Hell Usama might be kind of out there, but you do have a point on that though... Thanks & God Bless you & your wife,

Not sure about the dead or not thing. but it seems that Bible prophecy has a chance to be fulfilled in revelation ch 13 verse 1 & 3. Not saying for sure this is it, but it would perfectly fit with those 2 verses. Even with a lot of people suspecting he wasn't really dead in the first place, if the dragon gives the beast with the deadly wound which was healed his seat and authority, then he will convince most people to worship him by false signs and wonders. in other words, the dragon possesses this body of what was osama bin laden (which islam says is the spirit of muhammad, or the madhi to come), and shows himself able to rise from death. then the false prophet which is pbuh, or jesus (not the biblical one, but a demon) says the first beast (which is satan in this body) is the true god and the biblical interpretation of me (false Jesus) was wrong. What i laid out is simply a scenario and I'm NOT saying it is a "thus saith the Lord" moment.

This is indeed good news but too bad innocents were killed in the process. I hold him responsible for that. Please do not let pictures of this become public. I fear it would do more damage than good.

I know an ex-Navy SEAL. He is VERY suspicious of the report that Osama bin Laden is actually dead. What we know about the "capture/kill" is not at all the protocol used by Navy SEALS according to the SEAL I know. He says"Just watch and listen to what comes next, because something isn't right." I hope bin Laden is actually dead, but I wouldn't be surprised if he really wasn't. Even if he is dead, this whole struggle with radical Islam is far from over--in fact, it may increase for a time. We just need to pray and trust our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We need to be prepared to act on behalf of Christ and our country at a moment's notice.

First and foremost, the White House will not release any photos documenting the death of this man is questionable. In my opinion (which I am allowed to have), I think this is a ploy put on by Obama who is trying to tug at the heartstrings of the American people for his own personal agenda. This was by far a tragic event that I remember like it was yesterday and I am saddened for all the lives taken because of this not only on our homeland but the those serving our country to sacrifice our freedom. Obama has quietly said be would be running for president again and this clearly is a way for him to earn the respect of Americans because he is failing this nation. Now remember, this is my opinion. Our nation is in need of a serious overhaul and Obama stepped into office not trying to fix them rather, he created other ones.

I believe it was appropriate that he was brought out after being killed and buryed at sea to prevent anyone making a shrine to this murderer. I believe that he went to hell. I am a Christian and believe that unless you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ you will end up with the Devil. Since the Devil gives out hatred he will be in good company. The Bible says that "Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. I don't agree that we should mock Bin Laden, but I do agree he received his due justice. He was no better than Hitler killing so many Jews. Thats what hatred will do it eats up your soul. I thank God that he was found and this man is out of business for good.

I think the world is better off with Bin Laden dead but we need to take heed. This is a very evil world that we live in and we need to be in touch with God's word even more. The media is not helping the situation. Constantly bringing the issue up only makes people have more hate and discontent. We are still at war in a very difficult area and constant publicity will only put them in harms way. I support you Mr. Huckabee and I hope you do decide to run for president. This country needs to get back on track and start reading, praying and following the disciplines that God put forth in the Bible. There will always be wars and conflict until God returns and that is certainly coming - sooner than later.

    RE: Fellows Sr, Boyd

    Your comment reads:

"I agree with the people who responded to your "welcome to hell" remark. It is out of place.

I am disappointed in you for making that statement and I totally agree with the following person's comment:

    Robinson, Robin

    05/02/2011 10:51 PM

Welcome to hell? I wish you would have kept that thought to yourself and not publicized it. You are going to take some heat for that one. I would still support you as a Presidential candidate, because I've followed you a long time and believe you meant well. I just feel you will turn off some Christian brothers and sisters who haven't followed you closely and may judge YOU based solely on the eternal judgment proclamation you made about the most evil man in the world by man's standards. You're probably correct, and the words "may God have mercy on your soul" just doesn't seem relevant, but some things are just better left unsaid when the world is quick to pass judgement on Christians for appearing to be self-righteousness."

    MY RESPONSE:

"I am a GOD believing soul myself. The HELL-BENT FOOL USAMA met his maker....the DEVIL.

As Scripture reminds us, we are from GOD the FATHER, or of the Devil (the father of iniquity).

PRAISE GOD!!! EVIL HAS BEEN DEFEATED BY THE GRACE OF GOD!!

RIGHTEOUSNESS PREVAILS BY HIS RIGHT HAND!"

If I would really want to get to your level of thinking, I would ask why the Title of this blog was Osama instead of Usama (his real name).

Mr. Huckabee, I am severely disappointed in the tone you took with this email/statement, and believe that I will find *significant difficulty supporting you moving forward as I have in the past...

I worked long and hard to campaign for you in 2008, for almost four years I have repeatedly praised and applauded your upstanding character before other men and women, and I have genuinely thrown my entire support behind your presence in the political spheres of America, particularly your potential future bid(s) for the presidency.

However, I was alarmed to read the beginning of your email declaring a celebration, and I was shocked and appalled by your seemingly hate-filled, "Welcome to hell"! Perhaps this entire email/statement was a mistake, was written by someone else, was released invalidly, etc, but at this point, my support for you has been **significantly** tarnished, and I believe that those whom I hold close will follow in the same steps as I show your statement to them.

Sir, I am afraid that the last two and a half years of media and politics have corrupted some of the beautiful and Christ-like character I witnessed in you before.

    Disappointedly,
    Denver Root

Where did they get DNA to match to Bin Laden? Our country has been trying to catch him for ten years, so how did they obtain DNA to match? Just curious. I'm glad they finally found him, but would like clarification on the DNA match.

I am already seeing individuals criticizing those of us that celebrated Bin Laden's demise. However to place him in the same category as other humans demeans all mankind. Also while alive, the potential for hostage exchange demands could endanger many other innocent people. I have a question however; did not President Obama say the mission was carried out with the cooperation of the Pakistan government?? Was he misinformed, dishonest again or did I not understand what he said??

    Mr. Huckabee,

While I understand the need to bury that monster with a decent Muslim funeral, I don't have to like it. He didn't care if his victims had a decent burial. We have shown the world we are better people for our compassion.

As for us killing someone, President Bush had a Wanted Dead or Alive on him for years. Why would anyone be surprised we did end up killing him? We could not take the chance he would get away if he resisted, so since he refused to come peacefully, we had no choice but to kill him.

And, speaking of President Bush, we have him to think for finally getting bin Laden. If it were not for the aggressive pursuit and treatment of those captured terrorists, we wouldn't have had the information that eventually led us to him. So, I thank you President Bush, for your resolve and for keeping us safe.

He certainly didn't care about toe people he killed. Also the front page "Bin Laden unarmed" Who , in their right mind really cares. 99'9% of the people in the World trade Center, Flt 93 and the military who were at work at the Pentigon were unarmed. So let the act speak for itself.Thank you for this opportunity

Today, I am so proud of our country.
I marvel at the greatness of the men and women in our military and intelligence community. Many times,a battle is finished on the battlefield. But, it was fought in unknown places, places known only to those in the trenches. That happened here. This battle was won, because OUR men and women never faltered in their journey.
A monster is gone. There are no virgins three miles under the sea. There are only other monsters waiting to feast on this coward's remains. The world is a better place. This monster left his followers a big gift. He left OUR men & women a path and trail to follow to destroy those that are stupid enough to try the limits of the greatest nation on the planet.
    GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

As a long-time Christian, I deplore the punishment inflicted on Osama. It would have been much better to have brought him alive to the U.S. and here taught him to love rather than to hate. It's Islam which rejoices in death. Christians rejoice in new birth of sinners, and in life. No, it is not good that we rejoice in the death of even a monster.

Thanks, Mike, for being straight-forward. Of course bin Laden was judged by God, but I hope no Christian thinks God would approve of the life he chose. He even asked his own sons to sign up as suicide bombers.

And I don't care if they got him or not. If they didn't and he shows up again, it's political suicide for Obama. But they did get a ton of intelligence info in the form of computer hard drives, flash drives, and other documents that are worth more to us than bin Laden! Either way, we won.

Like all of us Osama existed in two realms: temporal and eternal. In the temporal, his death is appropriately celebrated. Etertnally, sadly, his death is tragic; for he did not believe the words of Jesus as recorded in John 14:6.

I hope Americans can move on and not continue to keep this horrible person in the news...I mean Bin Laden, not O'Bummer.
We don't need photos as proof, DNA was collected. Let's be thankful the world has one less evil murderer and work towards a safer world for all. And let's also work to end all the BILLIONS of money USA gives to Pakistan and other countries that hide our enemies such as Bin Laden.

I am not sorry that he was killed but it bothered me to see it in print written in just that way. If the headline had been something more like "Usama bin ladin is Dead" and then gone on to say how it happened,I don't think it would have bothered me. I know this man needed to be stopped but I wonder how it will affect younger readers to see that he was 'KILLED' in print. Will it alter their perspective3 of murder. I hope that anyone reading this can unravel the point I am trying to get across without thinking that I supported what he did in any way. I guess it is no different than if he had been put before a firing squad or tried, convicted and sentenced to death.

On the plus side, I know that the surviving family members and friends of all those who have died since 9/11 have finally received some sort of closure in their lives and I am greatful for that. I know they have been existing in a living hell all these years. May God Bless each and every one.

Remember our reactions to the cheering Moslems on 9-11? We've stooped to their level when we celebrate the death of another human, be they sinner or saint. I am glad for the successful mission, but sad that we lost the opportunity to display the righteousness of the American system. John Adams defended the British soldiers who shot and killed colonists because our proposed governmental system demanded a fair trial.

Regarding this news about the death of Osama bin Ladin...well, personally I am not celebrating. I recognize that many people have suffered due to his involvement in terrorist attacks, and in particular 9/11 in New York City.

He must have known that his days were numbered, to some degree. He made enough public statements regarding killing people, particularly Americans.

As the saying goes, When you live by the sword you die by the sword.

Let each one of us be grateful for the U.S. military, intelligence personnel, and all friends of freedom and peace who brought bin Laden to justice. And let us continue to pray with purpose for peace, trusting in the day when all enemies of good will heed the words of the Psalmist: "Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it" (Psalm 34:14). May this be so in America, and in all of God's world
