Hey Mike, I just want to tell you that I totally understood your positive comment about Michelle Obama's campaign to end childhood obesity. It is a very worthy and important cause. For all of us who have lost weight and taken back control of our health, we know the benefits of taking care of ourselves by our diet. Beck was so off base here by criticizing you, and totally missed what it was that you were saying. Beck saw something, that only he could see, from your positive and reaffirming comments, when that was all it was - a positive, genuine and respectful comment. Although Beck has done a lot of good, he is starting to concern me. Everything does seem to be a conspiracy with him. Also, I wonder, to him, will there ever be a good enough candidate for president?

I think you need to invite him on your show, and he needs to invite you to his. That way the differences can be logically discussed and presented. I have great admiration for both of you, but I disagree with what he said, and what you said. I'm sure two such great men can sit down together and have a frank and honest discussion with out name calling. I'm sure it can be done quite easily, since you both work for the same country.

Huck,
Why make war with Glenn Beck? Don't you have enough in common to lower your guns and let a stray bullet pass by. I think you can disagree without bringing more ammunition to the far left. Please choose your battles more wisely is my advice. Glenn Beck has made a lot of mistakes painting a broad brush and since he is leaving Fox, it seems that he is more sensitive than ever. Can you guys agree to disagree without the mud?
Thanks and go Huck !

Governor Huckabee - While I'm a Democratic femi nazi aka happily married to my high school sweetheart I like you. Don't agree with a lot, but when you're on the Daily Show you are always funny, introspective and enjoyable. I would suggest you take Beck's comment as a badge of honor that you still have a working brain and critical thinking skills. It would be worse if he really liked you don't you think? After all, we've all watched him sink to lunacy so best to not align yourself with crazy. Most normal Americans want this country to work regardless of who's in the White House. If that turns out to be you, then I can live with that quite fine. Because I believe that while we disagree on a lot, you are a good man, a thinking man, and not an idiot like Trump, Palin, Bachman, etc. I think you are the real deal. So this VERY patriotic Democrat wishes you the best and kudos for getting out of Glenn Beck's circle of psychos. It's nice to see an adult in the race. Wishing you all the best from San Diego California. Kathy Bell

I believe that Glen Beck's problem with Huck is very simple. Glen Beck supports his fellow Mormon, Romney. Now I don't say that to be mean but I truly believe that, while Beck as been a patriot most of the time and has blown the whistle about a lot of things that most of us would have never known about, he puts his Mormonism above his Americanism and tries to hide that fact. I will be the first to tell you that I am an Christian first and an American second... And I will say it up front! Mr. Beck, on the other hand does not say that and he tries to sell his Mormon faith as mainstream Christianity. It is NOT. Read Galatians 1:8-9. If you don't know how this applies you need to learn about Mormonism. I hate for this to divide republicans because the enemies forces are not divided in this way. Beck may want Romney, and that is fine! I really haven't decided who I will vote for but we do not need national figures like Glen Beck calling Republican Candidates progressives! If there is a particular item he doesn't like he can call that into question but the name calling and demonizing of potential candidate will just split the party and put Obama back in the White House. We have to pick the right man and support him with all factions of the party or we are courting disaster.

The problem is that you are sane, Mike. The sad truth is that about 20% of the far right wing are raving loons hooked on a steady IV of conspiracy theory. It is hurting the GOP greatly. The Birther movement is creepy, the freak out because the first lady promotes good nutrition instead of deep fried twinkies covered in chocolate sauce is creepy, the desire for all troops to come home from, Beck, to war with Russia and every other country from McCain is creepy.. from all sides.. the GOP has gone extreme on some levels and it is ripping the party in half. I think abortion should be legal because women who want one will get one regardless of abortion laws. Same with gun laws.. if someone wants to kill.. they will get a gun on the black market.. just like women got abortions in the 50's. It just makes criminal rings stronger. Also think black market abortions put the mothers life at risk, and that ends with the death of two instead of one. I think we must protect the mothers lives if we can't save the baby. And the black market is easy to reach if one is determined. Jesus would want us to make sure the mother was safe. It is easy to find compassion for the unborn.. but the sermon on the mount warns of easy forgiveness. We must forgive those that we tend to want to judge with hate. That means making sure woman are safe even if they abort because their souls could still be saved. abortion is not an unforgivable sin. Not if you believe in Jesus. But if you judge the woman who aborts with wrath and wish harm on her.. you will be judged no less harshly. No man is without sin. All deserve to be treated with love. Even woman who abort the unborn.

Oh Mike, I am torn apart by this whole thing. I am still on your side. But I still really like Glenn Beck. You really do need to understand where Glenn Beck is coming from. Alot of what he is saying on his 5 pm show on Fox news is based on fact not fiction. But for him to call you a progressive. Well he is just plain wrong on that. Glenn Beck is responsible for us having the Tea Party and other things that have wakened up our country to what is going on by true "Progresives" which the democrat party has been taken over by. And he is right about the republican party as well. Mike you really need to be careful about your support for Obama and Michelle obama. They are true progressives but worse than that they are true socialist/Marxists. Mike please wake up to this fact. They are destroying our country. Glenn Beck is also correct about alot of his so called conspiracy theories. His research that his fox news crew and him do are right on target about 99.9 % of the time. He warns us about the one world government people that are working hard on our country. If you know anything about the bible ... you know this is coming. WE TRULY ARE LIVING IN THE LAST DAYS...YOU, ABOVE ALL PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW OF THESE THINGS. I am a born again christian just like you are Mike. What glenn beck talks about every day on his show is really factual. I really like Glenn Beck... But he is so so so wrong about you Mike. I am so sorry that Glenn has got this vendetta against you seeing that I really like both of you guys so much. But, Dear Mike, my brother in Christ Jesus, please realize that Mrs obama, even though you think she means well, well, I believe she doesn't mean well at all. She may be somewhat right about this obesity thing, Glenn Beck is also right in saying that it is the responsibility of the parents to take care of their children, NOT THE GOVERNMENT. It is all about freedom and remember, God gives us a choice to choose. He doesn't force his love on us, we have the choice to choose him or reject him. We have the choice to eat good or not to eat good. The obamas want to force their policies on us...Mike, I am really torn on this. Just be careful of who you make friends with. The obamas are not your friends. Michelle is not a friend to this country. But you, being a progressive? You are just too too nice, that is all. Stop being too too nice. Like I said before, Im torn on this issue. But are you sure Michelle has the interest of the kids and the american people at heart?????? I am not at all sure. I think she just wants to tell us what to do, what to eat, what not to eat, what kind of healthcare we get, when to wake up, when to go to sleep...etc etc etc... Sorry Mike, the obamas DO NOT HAVE OUR BEST INTERESTS AT HEART. JUST BE CAREFUL THAT THE OBAMAS DON'T DRAG YOU DOWN THAT PROGRESSIVE ROAD THAT GLENN BECK SAYS THAT YOU ARE ON. In Christian Love, Lola Cullen in Mansfield Ohio. Still for Mike Huckabee/2012

Please Mike, get with Glenn and resolve this. I am fans of you both and this is breaking my heart. I hate that you responded to him publicly. Better if you had been offended that you go to him and work it out. I too was disappointed when you had Michelle Obama on your program. I watched the interview and formed my own opinion. I don't think that her using her influence and tax payer money to restrict choices in restaurants and yes, even in school cafeterias, is something she should be doing. If she wants to have this as a cause, fine. Let her get out there and talk about it, but there should be no influencing legislation or rules to be enforced by any government agency, by using a czar or other appointee like Barack Obama likes to do. Like Nancy Reagan said "just say no', but then she did not use her influence to influence government influence on it. Mike, keep your TV program and don't run for president. I am looking for a true conservative, strict Constitutionalist, and I'm afraid I don't think you are that person.

My heart breaks when two of my favorite people are at odds with one another. I have enjoyed watching Mike Huckabee's show on the weekends and appreciate some of the conversations he has started. However, I wasn't totally surprised to hear Glenn Beck say that Mike was a progressive, having listened to Glenn and hearing him describe what it meant to be a progressive. Here in the Tea Party, we call those types of Republicans RHINOS, a term with which you might be more familiar. Mike has great intentions, but I came to the conclusion that Mike wasn't the conservative I thought he was during the Republican primary in 2008. Love to watch his program...but had decided a while back that he is not the one I would vote for in the upcoming 2012 Republican primary. I love Mike's program and will watch it every weekend, but vote for him I will not. Sorry Mike. I will have to say I watched the interview with Michelle Obama, and that played into how I felt about Mike's being a RHINO, although it's not the only thing that changed my mind about Mike. Glenn would never run for president, but if he did and he was running against Mike, I'm afraid I would have to vote for Glenn.

We want you to know we respect the respect you have for our founding fathers, and their idea's. May God bless you and your family each day.

Hello Governor,
I've not written in a while (felt like you hadn't either) but I just wanted to say I'm a little disappointed you had a post for Hanukah and Glenn Beck but not Easter.
I do understand you don't want to politicize religious holidays, but you could have made it like your Christmas ad, i.e. not an ad at all.
Anywho, happy belated Easter, and don't let Glenn Beck get you down.

Mike don't worry too much about Glenn Beck. I appreciate your wisdom in seeing if you can handle a potential Glenn Beck problem before you decide to run for President.
Certainly having a skirmish with Glenn Beck will be a help for any Republican nominee in a general election against the presumed Democratic nominee - Barack Obama.
Your wisdom in desiring to deal with the growing obesity epidemic will only serve to curtail government spending as there will be less sick people to take care of than if this problem isn't addressed.
Glenn Beck preaches from the standpoint of a person who doesn't have to take full responsibility for the things that he says. You have had executive experience as a Governor and even in your prior jobs had to deal with the results of your decisions.
A radio talk show host on the other hand might engage in extensive bickering and sniping while taking no responsibility for his positions. They often practice skewering people hour after hour after hour: day after day after day: decade after decade.
We all have sins, mistakes, if you think about it, -- that are terrible when you think of the potential problems that our decisions can cause.
Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin attack you because you reviewed many, many cases in which juries in Arkansas have given severe sentences. Glenn Beck, if memory is correct, stated that you lessened the sentences of some 1,500 or 1,200 people convicted. I believe that it is statistically likely that you freed some innocent people who were wrongly convicted.
Glenn, who seemed to desire to support Sarah Palin, puts the total blame on you for Maurice Cummings --- and in his ignorant wickedness he puts no blame on the liberals who later had opportunity to put Maurice away for the later crimes that he was committing.Glenn Beck would have you relock up the statistically likely number of innocent people who you let go ... just so that no one person would ever get hurt if someone released commits another crime.
May God consider dealing with Glenn Beck as he considers dealing with the innocent people that you have had released.
Glenn should read Psalm 1 before he takes his radio seat each day. I've always found his radio program to be vile from the start where he either slanders his audience as "sick twisted freaks" or if he is accurate then he is catering to the worst qualities of the American people when he takes to airways with his henchmen at his side.
Judge not -- lest you be judged, Glenn.
Glenn, you've got some great qualities but you are still very, very flawed. It is only by God that you will be ultimately judged and you don't stack up so well against him. Your criticisms against Mike Huckabee aren't all completely wrong ... but if you don't take the planks out of your own eyes you aren't going to be helping other people to walk in the path of perfection.
Don't be too eager to go criticizing Mike for everything he was doing during a time that you weren't perfect yourself.
On your TV program you sometimes espouse perfect ideals --- and then I've found that you seem to give up trying to follow them. (I haven't caught your program in a long time but I caught yours today in which you espoused getting along with Mike - but then it appeared to me that you tried to sneakily jab him with the pardon issue.)
Well, we are all flawed, and in God's eyes you still might be better than I. But compare yourself to the only ONE worth comparing yourself with.
May God also forgive me for all the wicked and wrong things that may be in this post. Sometimes I don't even see my own errors until rereading the post later.

Huckabee For President 2012
04/25/2011 08:55 PM
It looks like Glenn Beck has gone into full attack mode on Governor Huckabee. He dedicated segments of his radio and TV programs specifically to slander Mike Huckabee.
This is the e-mail I sent to Fox News and Glenn Beck:
I've agreed with you on a whole lot of issues and have watched your program regularly. Sometimes you get out of line with your anger-filled monolgues, conspiracy theories, attempts to link radical organizations and individuals to each other, and personal attacks. But for the most part, I have enjoyed watching and listening to your perspective on the dire situation our country is now facing.
However, I can't believe you're now going after Mike Huckabee just because he doesn't recognize your Mormon faith as part of a legitimate Christian sect / denomination. Like you've said many times, YOU are now one of the people taking off your mask and showing your true self: a selfish, petty, Libertarian, Mormon who can't handle his faith being criticized and is still bitter from 2 lines in article of an interview taken place two years ago.
I find it hilarious how you kept saying "I'm not attacking Mike Huckabee, but..." then you go on to attack him and slander him. If you didn't want to attack him, then why dedicate so much time on both your radio and TV program doing just that?
I also find it ironic how you've been constantly asking "Where's the George Washington of our time?" when he has been working in the same building as you and is the person you've hated ever since the 2008 primaries and your airport meeting with him.
You're such a hypocrite, claiming that certain Republicans are dividing us as a nation, when it's YOU that's been driving a wedge between Americans on a daily basis just so you can sell more books and get a fat paycheck from Fox News. Well, good thing your contract is going to expire at the end of the year. Maybe it's because all of your sponsors have ran for the hills due to your hate-filled monologues and off-base "booger bear" conspiracy theories.
You talk about progressives, marxists, communists, anarchists, etc. constantly poking tea party members and conservative Americans into confrontations. Looks like you've learned a lot from them, Glenn, since you've been poking and prodding at Mike Huckabee to get into a public confrontation with you for the past 2 years. I suppose you're worried he's too popular and has a real shot of becoming the Republican nominee and is the only person who can defeat the man that's been your cash cow for the past 2 years: Barack Obama. Are you worried that your potential candidate of choice and son of your mentor, Jon Huntsman Jr. won't stand a chance against someone like Mike Huckabee? Is this the beginning of your crusade against Mike Huckabee so we'll have another 4 years of Obama, so you can continue to criticize him and make more money selling and promoting books yours and your friends? Or is it because you're jealous that someone like Mike Huckabee is more valued by Fox News and has received a contract renewal, while you got denied by Roger Ailes?
So you've launched an all-out assault on the Governor before he's even announced his candidacy, in hope of driving down his popularity in the polls. Looks like you're the one with the "thin skin," Mr. Beck. Sorry to break it to you, but those of us who support and like Mike Huckabee won't be easily fooled by your smear campaign against him. In fact, you've just made his supporters even more angry with you and you're going to lose yet another chunk of your audience. I suppose you don't care since your contract with Fox News is going to expire soon anyway and you've already made your money and fame.
Mike Huckabee tried to settle this privately with you via an e-mail sent to you, after you slandered him on your radio program. Funny how you didn't mention this today on your TV program. Why didn't you tell your viewers about this e-mail? Was it because you knew people would see you're the one who's wrong if people knew that you're the one who started this whole thing and you're the one who is purposely throwing gasoline on the fire?
The strange part about this whole thing is, I first found out about, and started supporting Mike Huckabee from your October, 2007 TV interview with him (back when you actually had some integrity). Mike Huckabee agrees with you on just about all policy issues and has been one of the few public figures talking about everything you supposedly stand for.
Yet you attack him for being a progressive by using his tax record as the Governor of Arkansas and his support for Michelle Obama's efforts to end childhood obesity (which is a real problem our country is facing today) against him. You conveniently left out the rest of his 10 and a half year record as Governor of Arkansas where he greatly improved the state's roads, education system, and overall prosperity amongst many other things. You forgot to mention that the tax increases was voted on by the people and he had to deal with an extremely left-leaning Democratic state legislature. He must have done a horrible job if the citizens re-elected him TWICE and the Republican Governors Association elected him to be their leader, eh?
I also find it odd, you've never mentioned the Fair Tax and how Mike Huckabee has supported it ever since 2007. Nah, you'd rather just repeat the same talking points Club for Growth has used against him countless times in the past.
By the way Glenn, one of your heroes that hasn't been dead for 200+ years, Ronald Reagan, also increased taxes, after he lowered it, when he was President (just like Mike Huckabee).
See, unlike purist ideologue talking heads like you, true leaders of our states and country actually have responsibilities. They can't always adhere to strict tax decreases and let their state or federal deficits balloon to an unmanageable level where we'll never be able to pay back our debts (oh wait, we just did). They have to balance the budget and worry about the well-being of their constituents.
Then again, we've now seen what happens when terrible, irresponsible Presidents like George W. Bush and Barack Obama lower taxes and/or refuse to raise taxes when needed and continues to spend us into oblivion. Why do you think Obama doesn't care about raising taxes? Because it will hurt his decreasing popularity even more and because he wants America to fail.
So continue to attack true conservative leaders like Mike Huckabee, Glenn. Continue to hold that grudge of yours against him just because he won't admit that Mormonism is not real Christianity.
Continue to divide our nation and watch it go to hell. The ship has sailed and you're on it with your progressive "enemies," waving goodbye to the country you proclaim to love and defend.I'm so glad you've finally taken off your mask, Glenn. It's about time. Too bad I've wasted the past 2 years watching and listening to you on TV and radio.

I stopped -- for the most part -- watching Glenn Beck when he made the statement on his show that the way to start a military revolt -- because it has happened in other countries -- was to "not pay them," after it was announced that the military would only be receiving a 1.4% increase. He went on to say, "remember that your JOB is to support and defend the Constitution." Having previously heard Mr. Beck state that he would correct himself if he was proven wrong, I wrote to him to tell him the error in his statement and to give him the ENTIRE Oath of Enlistment/Commissioning and reminded that the thing that makes OUR military different from those of other countries is PRECISELY that Oath because in taking it, members swear to not only support and defend the Constitution but ALSO the President and the officers and others appointed over me according to . . . the Uniform Code of Military Justice. I then told Mr. Beck that I knew of NO veteran OR active duty person who would even THINK of going against this country in the military type "coup" he inferred JUST because they weren't getting paid enough. Then, having stated my opinion, told him that he owed every single veteran and active duty member of our military an apology.
Then, I waited for the apology he promised if he was ever proven wrong. What Mr. Beck issued -- the following Monday -- was a stern admonishment I presume to those who had written to him about his comments in that particular show, saying that "NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY has ANY IDEA how much research goes into each and every show" . . . blah blah blah. In short, he made it clear that he had NO intention of issuing an apologizing and no intention of retracting his comment about our brave military members and its veterans.
THAT'S when I stopped watching. You see, I AM a disabled veteran and my CHILD is currently deployed to the Middle East.
All civilians have the freedom of speech. Military members give up a good portion of their civil rights to keep us all free.
I just don't have to listen to a buffoon who has no idea what he is talking about.

Gov. Huckabee, Thanks for staying in the political arena. I have listened to your radio spot"The Huckabee report". Your common-sense, clear, rational, sometimes humorous, political commentary is educational and entertaining. You explain and defend your views and record well, your response to Glen Beck was classic. Keep it up! I am sick & tired of Republican politicians who seem unable, unwilling or don't know how to respond effectively when attacked. Mr. Huckabee,
I saw your interview with Mrs.O. I do believe that you are very well intentioned, especially given the struggles you said that you have had. However, if you look at the facts, like many good intentions, they tend to result in government mandates....which is not in any way shape of form "individual responsibility." The federal government mandating what is served and offered in vending machines is just that - a mandate. Where is personal responsibility in that? Given your usual demeanor and kindness I was quite surprised with the intensity of your backlash. From what I saw, heard and read, yes Mr. Huckabee, your view on this issue is indeed progressive. I'm not saying that you are overall a progressive, but that on this particular issue, you are taking a progressive stand. It seems that many progressives feel that just because it's something good to do, they somehow feel an urge to force all to do it. Just remember this....a mandate is not personal responsibility - it's forced good behavior just like overtaxing in forced charity! God recognizes our own personal choices not forced behavior! -

To those who would question Gov. Huckabee's choice of words in his response, I would like to post a live link referenced by Dkeys. The attacks made by Glenn Beck didn't begin one day last week, but began when Huckabee started climbing in the polls in the '08 primaries.
So then, we know in fact that GB is wrong about Gov. Huckabee,so why could we not assume that he is wrong on many of the other issues and could have indeed created a "boogey" man?

Governor Huckabee, we want you to know that we are supporting you in prayer each day for strength and wisdom to know, say and do the right things. The political field you have entered (and we hope the Presidential race for 2012 that you may enter) mean that you are not thin-skinned.
I was so disappointed that Glenn Beck would attack you, because there was no reason he should now label you as a "progressive." Having Mrs. Obama on your television show happened long ago. Certainly, being a polite and cordial interviewer who tries to identify with the guest, or agreeing with her that obesity is a big problem in America does not mean that you wanted to hand health care or supervision over diets to the government.
My prayer is that these talk show hosts will realize that you are the best candidate that conservatives could ask for to defeat Obama. They need to read your new book, A Simple Government, for starters. You may be close to the "perfect" candidate for America, but not the "perfect progressive candidate" Beck talks about.
I hope he will apologize to you soon, and to America for making this irresponsible charge.
God bless you and your family, staff, and supporters. Keep looking up. And we will do what we can to support and encourage you.
GRACE, in Kansas, still PRAYING

I am finishing "Simple Government." You are right about Michelle in this case. Glenn is also partially right in that you are somewhat of a progressive. So was Truman. Israel hung in the balance on his decision, which by the way was counter to the Secretary of State. Mike I pray you will show the country how the church will lead us out of our man made messes, if we will just turn to her Groom and follow Him in a Godly and Holy manner as outlined in scripture. Let us begin with "Meditate on the Word, day and night, and "pray continuously and move on to Malachi 3: 6-12. When we bring our tithe to the temple our hearts will be there as well and many of the challenges you outline in your book will be overcome. We must quit treating symtoms and attack the source of our national disease in earnest.

Was just getting ready to write you Governor Huckabee, when I received an email from Newsmax with regards to your reponse to Beck. I actually heard the monologue & lost respect for Beck because of the outrageous remarks, knowing you aren't what he said you were. He claimed you & McCain were the reason Romney resigned from the race. Being a former mormon, now saved by God's Grace & Mercy, it came across to me as a "plug" for 2012 in Romney's favor. I'm sure he would love to have a member of the mormon church leading this country, since they believe that will happen in the end times, as part of their doctrine. My Spirit becomes very uneasy when he talks about God, since they don't put their belief in the God of the Bible, and it concerns me when he claims to be a Christian, which mormons aren't unless they deny the teaching of the mormon church, & trust totally in salvation only through the death, burial & resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is God. I want to thank you for clearing the air, & hopefully people will read what you have said & "discern" from "truth & error". The Bible tells us to "study & show ourselves approved", maybe we also need to do that when it comes to commentors on TV or radio. May God continue to protect, provide & bless you, your family & staff. I thank the Lord for such a man of God as yourself & for the boldness you have to proclaim who He is.

Governor, promoting healthy exercise is GREAT. Now let's get local, state and federal regulations, and class-action lawyers off the backs of schools, camps, and sports programs so they can provide quality play, sports, and recreation that is reasonably safe, supervised by qualified people, at a price taxpayers and entrepreneurs can afford to offer and parents can afford to pay! We need fewer touchy-feely classes and boys-can't-do-it-unless-girls-do-it-too expenditures and rules. No wonder bored kids aren't learning, aren't moving, and are cramming their mouths full of "comfort" foods while taxpayers spend ever greater fortunes on "education."

There seems to be two basic interpertations to being a progerssive. There's the well intentioned verison of let's help everyone we can whether via government or personally. And there are those who want to change society as a massive whole that controls it all, piece by piece, a little at a time where we don't realize what is happening and lose our known way of life in the U.S.A. I don't believe that Glenn Beck is wrong, nor that Governor Huckabee has the wrong intentions of what he said, but we all must be careful of what we say and interperate as good intentions as to the deviantly hidden agendas of the bad progessives. What is a true progressive?

Re: Easter-The Good News
Dear Governor and Mrs Huckabee,
At this Easter, I wish you and your family a Happy Easter.
I appreciate you taking a moment to talk about Easter on your radio show this week. It meant a lot. It also meant a lot you got to visit Texas and talk about folks around the world. I am sure your visit encouraged folks.
In recent weeks, thousands of people have lost everything they own, and at the core of their mourning is the good news that God has not forgotten them. It is a profound place to be. None of us can escape it, eventually.
While I am happy this Holy Week to reflect on the good and beautiful life we can live in Christ, I wish more politicians and entertainers would have used this Holy Week to just help folks who suffered from the floods last month in NH; or pray like many of the governors had to for rain or for relief from strong winds; or talk about needs of our children; or just practice good old silence; they say it's golden. I appreciate your lead.

I think Glenn Beck is very funny and he has some very interesting conspiracy theories and I'll probably still watch his show but he is way off base in his attack of Governor Mike Huckabee.
Glenn Beck kind of annoys me with the way he talks about the Christian religion and the founding of our country. He seems to suggest "Thou Shalt Have Small Government" is the 11th commandment.
The founding fathers were SLAVE OWNERS who had absolute power over their slave's lives but chafed over a little power wielded by a king 3000 miles away. The perfect government is a kingdom with the perfect man on the throne. Their is no democracy in heaven.I feel Glenn Beck is polluting my Christian religion with his Libertarian agenda.
Governor Mike Huckabee strikes me as the real deal when it comes to Christian politicians. I don't think he is a pretender trying to capture a certain segment of the voting public like most other so-called Christian politicians. I woundn't care if he was or wasn't a little Progressive in his thinking.
Glenn Beck is the one who strikes me as thin skinned. He went on an 11 minute rant about Mike Huckabee and he seemed kind of ticked off. Mike Huckabee didnt seem upset at all, just defending himself.
(I'm not sure if other blog went through to be approved because of possible Captcha mistake.) -

Progressivism isn't a sin. It's probably just foolish.
The founding fathers were SLAVE OWNERS who had absolute power over other peoples lives who chafed at a king 3000 miles away wielding a little power over their lives.
I feel like Glenn Beck is polluting my Christian religion to advance his Libertarian cause.
Governor Mike Huckabee strikes me as the real deal as far as "Chistian politicians" are concerned. All these other
politicians are probably liars.
I wouldn't care that much if he was a little progressive in his thinking.
Personally I don't think Progressivism works. I think it's just a pretext for Liberal politicians to seek power by buying votes from the underpriviliged and underemployed at the entrepreneurs expense while supporting economic policies that send jobs overseas. -

I voted for Gov. Huckabee in the 2008 New York State Republican Primary. I so voted because I had not decided whom I favored from the Republican field of candidates. There were a few I thought could do a good job but I voted for the Gov. because of his easy going ways and because he was a minister in an evangelical church. I believed I could trust him, and still do. I am very pleased he stood up to Glen Beck, who has started to believe the drivel he spouts, and thinks he is something above a talk show host. Him, I don't trust. I am a veteran of the radio talk show wars, and I know the meaning of the word "infotainment." Beck is good, very good, at this. But if you listen closely to him, he is a hatemonger and believes he is a kingmaker. I read today a headline in NewsMax where he "warns" Gov. Huckabee not to run bercause his skin may be too thin. Beck is a blowhard, and I hope the American listening audience realizes this soon.

Now Glenn Beck is telling you NOT to run for the nomination because your're opting liberal ideas...
My thought is that Glenn Beck is a FLAT Taxer who knows the support for the FairTax is stronger, so he wants you gone from the race...He is in bed with Dick Armey, who Neal Boortz claims to be a Flat taxer as well...Dick Armey is the one that had the Tea Party Organization take down the FairTax as the Number #1 wish of wishes that ALL tea partiers wanted last year...
If you run Mike, you must help take over the Senate as well...The FairTax will be a pipedream without help from ALL conservatives in the Senate...You will need a Super Majority in BOTH houses of Congress to pass the FairTax...

Glenn was actually complimentary of Mike's character and faith. In describing Mike, he did call his political behavior progressive, though emphatically declared that Mike was a man of honor and certainly no Barack Obama. Mike may as well be proud of what he has been a proponent of: mild progressivism. Perhaps it will attract some more Moderate Obama supporters.

I was saddened by Glen Beck's attack. He obviously didn't hear what was said or is blinded by his dislike of the Obama's. Let's hope he comes to his senses and offers an apology.

Strong words, Governor. While you are certainly no "Progressive", our efforts should be aimed at the President and the Democrat's awful handy work over the last two-and-a-half years. We as people who love this Republic need to focus on the war ahead, not petty things that will only show us as hypocrites. Please go on his show or have him on yours and discuss this matter like grown men. People will see Christ through this and by this action you will set a standard that will prayerfully save our Republic. Grace and peace-

Do not pay any more attention to Glenn Beck. Focus on positive things and take your mind off him. You have too much to offer the United States to get off on his tangent. He's probably for 'you know who' and wants to rattle your cage.

For awhile now, I have liked Glenn Beck as I believe his show is very informative, but I do not like how every item that he speaks about involves a 'conspiracy' of some sort. Nor do I appreciate his sanctimonious attitude.
However, on the Michael Savage show, at least a year ago he mentioned that Beck takes a lot of material from other sources and does not credit them. I thought it a little strange then but did kind of believe it as he hits on so many topics and ‘appears' to be knowledgeable on all of them.
It now appears that Beck has been 'plagiarizing' material and not giving credit where is credit is due. This really bothers me and should most people – if this is the case, then Beck has lost all creditability to me. This leaves me to believe that he is only in it for the money and to sway influence towards republican candidates that he likes and away from candidates he does not.
We all have to remember late 2007 and early 2008 when Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity did their best to belittle Mike Huckabee while promoting Giuliani, Thompson and then flip-flopper Romney.

Beck tries to posture himself as I uniter, but he keeps stirring things up. Back in 2007, Glen Beck admits "I called him the one-eyed Mullah Huckabee." Read the rambling transcript where Beck recalls meeting Huck (http://archive.glennbeck.com/news/12142007a.shtml). Beck says they forgave each other, but concludes, "I don't think Mike Huckabee had any empathy for me or anybody else that happens to be of Mitt Romney's faith." Apparently, it's just a rehash of the last presidential primary for Glenn Beck.

The comments of Joanne L and Carey Ann A embody my own sentiments so perfectly that I have little to add.
However, I do have an hypothesis to explain Beck's outrageous attacks on you, Governor:
Beck has often touted his close releationship with billionaire John Huntsman, Sr. Meanwhile, John Huntsman, Jr.'s name has been bandied about as a GOP presidential contender in 2012. Could Beck's behavior be no more than a partisan attack on whom he perceives (correctly) as his guy's strongest competitor? As you say, Governor, this has really blown up in his face!
Have a blessed Easter!

It seems to me that everyone is being a bit thin skinned here....and it might be a good idea to get ALL of the facts via video to REALLY determine who said what about whom. Perhaps rather than taking the time to attack fellow conservatives, everyone's time would be better spent going after the current administration.

It is too bad that people on the right are using the "just like me or wrong" paradigm so popular with the current left. Truth is not Mr Beck's interest. That we should be teaching our children nutrition should be a given, and to disagree because the idea came from the WH is to weaken our civilization.

Dear Irene,
Politics is about reaching acceptable compromise if you don't have all the votes. As of now, GOP has is in control of just the House when the Democrats are in control of both the Senate and the presidency. In this situation, GOP can not get all it want. There is no point fighting a lossing battle. GOP should get the most it can get now and fight to take over both the Senate and the presidency in 2012. GOP will pay for it if they ground the government. Tact is what is needed.
Gov. Huckabee was a governor for about 11 yrs and had seen the reality of running a government. It is easier to talk than to lead, as Obama is currently realizing.
A digression - I believe in passionate conservatism that means "handup" not "handout" or "fist hand". I believe in small and responsive government and not large or no government.
If America can respond to other people around the world when there are in crisis, we should also show compassion to the less priviledge among us,and help them to stand and be independent. The democrats have painted the GOP has not being sensitive to the needs of the less priviledged even though their intention is to keep them captive in order to always lord it over them. Gov. Huckabee is the one that can combine the compassionate appeal side of the democrats with the social social values, financial prosperity and national security appeals of the GOP.
Huckabee is a GOP with a heart! I pray he runs.

Interestingly enough, Janis Oney, I watched a Senate Committee hearing on the Constitutionality of Obamacare. Some of the most distinguished scholars of Constitutional Law were present and the debate was lively, thoughtful, and meaningful (much different than what you always see on the Senate and House floor!). One of the things they discussed, regarding the Commerce Clause, was that the Government could not force you to eat your vegetables, but the Government could make you buy your vegetables...
Kind of scary, eh?

It has been quite awhile since I have posted on huckpac.
I first heard about the progressive thing in this mornings paper. I like and respect both Mike Huckabee and Glenn Beck for all they do. They both have good Fox News shows. They are the primary shows I watch on Fox News.
I don't know what got this progressive thing started. I need to learn more about it.
I have always wanted Huckabee and Glenn Beck to debate their differences, primarily flat tax against FairTax.
I hate to see this difference of opinion come up especially when Glenn Beck is about to stop airing his 5o'clock program, which I will miss.
I did see where Huckabee had Mrs Obama on his show, and there was more in the news about, I am going to say a crusade. I agree there is a problem with obesity, and Mike Huckabee has fought that battle. i also believe it alright for Mrs. Obama to present idea and ways to eat healthier, but it should not be telling parents what their kids can eat and where to shop. I do agree the ultimate responsibility is on the parents, and not where they eat.
Unless I misread or something it was a low blow for Mike Huckabee to bring up the far out conspiracy theories. like this "Beck misrepresented—either out of ignorance or out of a deliberate attempt to distort them to create yet another “boogey man” hiding in the closet that he and only he can see." My question is what were the other "boogey men". Just about every person Beck talks about he shows video clips, and then talks about them. George Soros to me is a spookey dude. QE1 and QE2 should be questioned by every one. The only time the Fed should be printing money is when they are replacing old money. Devaluing the dollar is effecting all of us. i don't like the idea of Andy Stern be the number one visitor to the White House.
Mike I really would like to know where Beck is wrong with any of the presentations on TV Fox News so far. I can see where on a radio show where the are listeners calling in, that word s can be said, which shouldn't.
I watched every debate you were in and followed the campaign and primaries like a hawk. I saw where McCain gave you the question on the FairTax and you took up for him one time on the debate stage.
I really wish you and Glenn could sit down in private and hash out your differences, not over the air ways. The last page of Glenn Becks book "Broke" he used over 1/2 page writing he liked the idea of the FairTax.
You are both good men, patriotic Americans, you fight the battle for America in your own unique ways. I have high regard and respect for both of you. I am trying my best to understand.

Govenor, with all respect I must disagree with you. The fact that the Federal Government is in the business of education is wrong. The states and local communities need to be the ones responsible for education and if they, the local school, want to have lunch standards then that is their right. You are supporting the bill, which might have some legitimate points regarding school lunch but in doing so you are supporting the involvement of the Dept of Education and the Office of White House Policy, specifically the Domestic Policy Council, in the schools. If tax payers are paying for these school lunches, then the tax payer should expect good quality meals. The Jamie Oliver Experiment down the road from us in Huntington, WV, was amazing and eye opening, but again it is not the role of the Federal Government to be involved in this and that is why I disagree with you.

Mike, I was deeply disappointed with Glenn Beck for calling you a progressive Republican. He clearly does not follow the rest of your politics! I am a bit disappointed that you have answered him with a clear personal quip. Answer the argument and leave the pejorative remarks out.
Glenn has done a lot to open peoples eyes to what's going on in Washington. I do feel that he occasionally goes a bit far, and I therefore take him at his word and do my homework. I am amazed at the number of times he hits the nail on the head.
As far as your support of M. Obama's Let's Move plan, please do your homework. USA Today says “it gives the USDA the authority to set nutritional standards for all foods regularly sold in schools during the school day, including vending machines…” That means it gives too much control to the FEDERAL government over our local public schools. This is not a door we want to open further. Federal government already has too much of a hand in our local schools, don't let this one in!
I still like you and Glenn. Please put this behind you and do what you do best.

The more ya hear of Glenn Beck, the more you dislike him and understand why he is no longer going to have an hour of TV time each day! When he starts to lose media focus, he has to find a way to bring it back. He really needs to stop focusing on himself and his own "conspiracies" if he's really out for the good of the people, like he says.

I've read that most, if not all, comments that don't agree with Mike are being filtered out of this chain, and truly hope that is not the case... that's truly the last thing we need, yet another candidate that that only hears what he wants to hear, and worse, will only allow others to hear what he wants them to hear.
Having said that, you BOTH need remember RRs #1 rule, do not sling mud at each other in public. The left will feed on it, and use it against each of you in turn.
The simple fact is that under the term of the Governor, the size of the state govt did increase, dramatically.
We do NOT need more govt help, we need less, plain and simple. I grew up dirt poor, and didn't even graduate from HS... I went into the military, got my life fixed, and I am now a very respected and well off programmer, in that top 5% BO seems to want to take from. I certainly do not feel wealthy, but neither will I, or my kids, EVER have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. I spent many a hungry night... it is one heck of a motivator. it was through my own hard work, determination, perseverance and personal responsibility that I got here, not a hand out.
Now both of you please stop the back biting, and get on with what we need to do to take back the WH in 2012...Thanks for listening.

Mike, I hope you can get things straightened out with Beck. You need to figure out how to smooth this over. Open your eyes.
