For months, President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have insisted that they know best when it comes to health care reform.
With this vote, Congress decided what kind of health care you have access to and how much it will cost.
They also decided not to respect us and take us for fools.
I am frustrated and I know you are as well. Ten days ago I launched a website called CallCongressNow.com and asked voters to call their representatives and Senators and tell them to vote no. Over 151,000 people visited the website and spent almost 4,000 hours on making calls pleading with their leaders in Washington to vote no. This time Congress listened more to party bosses than to you.
Now there is something else you can and must do: Get personally involved to dump them. Let’s replace this Congress with Republicans that will listen to the people.
If you don't like the way your congressman voted and you don’t want your family burdened with new mountains of debt from out-of-control Washington spending and you don’t want your tax dollars to fund abortion then write as big a check as you can to one of his or her opponents or to my leadership committee Huck PAC.
I have set a goal of 3000 new donations to Huck PAC before the end of the month. Contribute $5 or more online or through the mail and we will help fund conservative candidates nationwide. We will target the yes votes on this bill and make sure we send as many of them home for good.
There's only one thing many elected officials understand: campaign contributions. Your calls and e-mails matter, but if you really want to influence the future of this country, put some walk behind your talk and dump the one who won't. It's that simple.
If you really want to change the political system in this nation, then give your time and your money to elect someone who will work for you.
I'm writing checks this year to people I trust so they will replace the ones I don't. I hope you'll do the same.
Please support Huck PAC today with an immediate online donation of $5 or more.
Help us reach our end of month goal. Let’s turn yesterday’s vote into the momentum we need to return this Congress to the people.
You may use this link to make a donation:

I DO NOT BELIEVE THE VOTE ON OBAMACARE IN EITHER HOUSE OF CONGRESS WAS UNANIMOUUS. IN FACT, I BELIEVE THE REPUBLICANS VOTED UNANIMOUSLY AGAINST IT. WHY SHOULD WE 'DUMP' THEM? IT SEEMS THAT WOULD BE THROWING OUT THE BABY WITH THE CONTAMINATED BATHWATER.

Governor Huckabee I am without a doubt a fan of yours, however I will state that some how or some way until you are showcased in several debates, not 10-15 minute discussions, you will not be completely accepted as a presidential candidate.
You have not been showing the people what knowledge and ideas is really needed to be president of the United States. You must turn likeable into needed. Governor played bass is not enough. -

When you hear about cuts to Medicare and Social Security, more often than not, the reference is to "old people" who didnt "plan" for their retirement. It seems to be implied that they are poor planners so deserve whatever they get or in this case what they soon will not be getting due to "Obama cuts".
Well, I have to admit I "didnt plan" either, nor did the other people who are on Medicare and get Social Security, but for another reason...."Disability". No one plans to be Disabled. I will never work again and I'm in my early 50s.
Most doctors in my small town already do not accept Medicare and if they do, you have to cough up the difference in their fees. I get "too much money" to qualify for additional aid from the County (Medicaid)...yet I live "under the poverty level of $13,788 yr); if you live in another State, I'm sure that sounds like a lot of money. It's my misfortune to live in California where even the price of gas has rarely been under $3.00 a gallon in the last 2 yrs; currently it's $3.15 and we all know "summer vacation" costs are just around the corner.
My doctor is requesting lab tests, ultrasounds, etc...and honestly, I cant afford to get them done. Between the deductibles required by Medicare and their low reimbursement fees, I cant afford to pay the left over costs.
The nearest town is 82 miles a way and the town I live in takes advantage of people who are "stuck" here and cant afford to move...even grocery store prices as well as physician fees are higher than the norm because they "gotcha".
What's even more amazing is that Obama decided that there was no need for Social Security recipients to get a raise this year, yet every time I go to the store things cost more.
If you live in beautiful California (sarcasm), there was a huge increase in vehicle registration fees this year also. My fee went from $201 to $286.00, when the norm is your license/reg fees go down as your car is getting older (less value).
Obama's health care "plan" is a plan to sort through and get rid of people who are less desirable and/or are not productive to society. Call it what you want, but it's just another form of prejudice and I truly believe the so-called "death panels" are right around the corner. They'll be given a more "user-friendly" term of course, but the purpose of them will be the same. Instead of long enduring illness, it truly would be kinder to offer euthanasia. All I'm asking for is nice background music and someone to hold my hand.
Maybe the Disabled can get PETA to rally for us....most animals will be getting more humane care than we will.
It's ironic, that the majority of my employment years were in the Medical field. What a difference a "status" makes. Had great health care while I was working....now I'm pond scum.

Stephen I like the Governor too. It's said that he is a Pastor. It's a nice switch from listening to the Reverend Al Sharpton babble on about the need to take from people that work, and giving it to those that won't. Please, don't get me wrong. I do believe in helping those who can't.
Well, anyway, Governor, as for Congress not listening to us this time, well, that is really nothing new. I've got to wonder, though, will they listen on election day? Have they ever? What's left to do if they ignore us in November, huh?

Margaret Morrell wrote: "I just don't know how to get people that we can trust to really listen to the People and not the party bosses and special interest!"
Good question Margaret. Our founders knew the only way is to limit power. The fair tax Gov. Huck supports is a start. This would prevent elected representatives from favoring certain industries or constituents by using the tax code to pick winner and loosers. A tax on consumption makes much more economic sense than our current taxes on employment, investment, and savings.
Another mechanism Congress uses to pick winners and loosers is earmarks. This is wasteful but even worse, it breeds a culture of corruption. Earmarking could be eliminated with an amendment stating, "Every law, or resolution having the force of law, shall relate to only one subject, and that subject shall be expressed in the title."
The framers of the constitution intended the states to have advocates in Washington by allowing state legislatures to select senators. The 17th amendment brought the direct election of senators in 1913. Who advocates states rights in Washington anymore? We should consider restoring the selection of senators by state legislatures.
I suspect both parties would be united in opposition to such measures. I cannot think of a better way to unite them. Dump the Congress!

Dear Gov. Huckabee and prior poster Susan Peterson -- couldn't agree more about Tammy Baldwin, the Rep. from WI-2 that supported this awful bill!! Check out www.chadleeforcongress.com for her November opponent, though (Chad Lee trounced Theron in the 2nd District Caucus and will end up getting endorsed by the party at the convention in May). Chad is going to beat Tammy in the fall!! Gov. Huckabee I am sure any help and support you could provide will go a long way to making this dream come true!!

Get rid off Democratic and Republican partied and half of the problems will be resolved! The problem lies in fighting against the party politics instead getting right for American people. We need to get out 19th and 20th century of party-politics and think about future. Only way to make everyone look at the what a person is saying is not to say he or she is "Democrate" or "Republican".
My 2 cents worth!

Re: Waterloo #5- Gov. Mitch Daniels
Correction: Mitch Daniels was born in Pennsylvania and moved with his family to Indiana at the age of ten. His wife was born in Indiana.
Note: It is very educational to watch Gov. Daniels in action. Try to find a recent interview of the governor articulating his discouragement in the passing of the health care bill. Note how he says he will no longer be able to enroll new Hoosiers in the Indiana Health program; instead he has to begin to dismantle his own program. Awfully painful move, but necessary to highlight the ugliness and reality of the new health care bill.
Amazing how such a bill can make people really sick at heart and attack healthy plans.

Re: Waterloo #4- The Final Four in Indy (Butler University from Indy-change we can believe in)
A Riddle: How can you tell the difference between a Republican and a Democrat D.C. politician representing the state of Indiana?
Answer: The Republicans will all have voted against the health care bill and tried to share how their own state has some great ideas and plans already in place for the nation to learn from. They also all will genuinely be cheering their hearts out for Butler University in the Final Four hoping they take it all. They all will be proud of this school and its accomplishments.
The Democrats from Indiana will have voted for the health care bill and all will have failed to represent the reality of the Indiana economy, health care system and the like in their closed sessions in Congress. They also on the surface will be cheering for Butler University to win, but all will have placed thousands of bets in Vegas using redistributed money taken from Indiana people for Michigan State, West Virginia, and Duke to win it all because all these schools come from states that have Democrats as governors. Then, after taking their winnings(they will have figured out a way to win even if they lose), these politicians will all resign from office saying Republicans forced them out because they could no longer work with such a barbaric group of mean spirited people who had no ideas and were only partisan political hacks along with all their children and grandchildren and associates.
Comments:
I feel very sorry for Governor Mitch Daniels today and the people of Indiana and America. I hope Butler from Indy can pull off a victory in their Final Four match up against MSU in Indy (and I like MSU). At least we all know that these kids will not betray their school or state as some Democratic politicians just did.
Why is Governor Mitch Daniels so discouraged?
Governor Daniels knows as clearly as "1 + 1 is 2" what this bill will do to Indiana. He also sees the fraud involved in the way the bill came about. Finally, he also found out that Democrats of Indiana gave up their sovereignty by voting along party lines instead of state lines on this health care bill.
How painful it must be to see elected officials who call themselves Americans and Hoosiers to misrepresent their own state of Indiana in D.C. at a time when Indiana had real solutions to real problems. They cannot even tell the truth about the condition of their own state up in D.C. Washington such showed us how they are not capable of running any companies except into the the ground. They have no morals and no sense of money and no sense of how to motivate people.
I have no idea how these people can justify taking an oath of office to serve and protect and represent Indiana's interests in D.C. This is a clear case of Republicans having a viable option put into operation to serve as a model for national investigation, only to have it shot out of the water by representatives from that same state! It is a form of fraud for they are misrepresenting reality.
Governor Daniels has been the ideal governor (born and raised in Indiana, btw!) and has worked hard to keep Indiana floating and believing in a brighter future. Now he discovers that people who call themselves Hoosiers are actually loosers and more like mercenaries in D.C. and not representatives of the people of Indiana. Are these people so shallow that they have to sink their own state because they fear that Daniels' skill at the helm might become recognized nationally? Daniels himself is only focusing on governing Indiana.
Governor Daniels and former Governor Huckabee really are principled leaders. May Governor Daniels find encouragement at this time as he has to make difficult decisions as a responsible executive leader.

Re: Waterloo Post #3- Gov. Mitch Daniels of Indiana
Daniels "As discouraged as I can remember over health care bill passage" (March 22,2010)
www.theindychannel.com/politics/22908438/detail.html
Indiana has generally fared better than surrounding states financially in recent years, but Daniels contends the health care reform bill will profoundly damage the state's economic condition and will send its neighbors into crippling debt.
"It will raise by trillions the crushing debt we already are leaving young Americans. Any claims to the contrary are worse than mistaken, they are knowingly fraudulent," Daniels said. "In a life of optimism about America and its future, this morning, I am as discouraged as I can remember being."
The votes of Indiana's representatives were split on party lines, with all five Democrats supporting the measure and all four Republicans voting against it.

Re: Robert Bush Post- Waterloo Revisited "Don't wait for the earth to dry" -or- "Don't get caught watching the paint to dry"
Bob (Bush, Robert C. 03/28/2010 10:09 PM), you make some very good points. Thanks for sharing your observations, your experience, and your wisdom about this matter. Your practical suggestions remind me of the Waterloo comments made by DeMint.
It sounds like you are saying that the message should not change now. Instead of waiting for the "ground to dry" figuratively speaking, you suggest that it is time for GOP leadership and conservative Democratic leadership to simply advance forward by bravely writing "the bill" exactly how it should have looked in the minds of these leaders and have it ready to go to share it with all throughout the land this summer as men and women prepare to change who is running the government this November in the American way...at the ballot booths. A new "Common Sense" should dot the lands and it should now be in the form of "the bill" and not in the form of politicians' own biographies and pre-2012 campaign PR materials. Americans should be given just "the bill" and "plans from politicians who are running now for an office" to read this summer.
Then immediately after the elections this Fall the already completed and well-represented draft of "the bill" should be re-introduced immediately to Congress, the American people, and the president.
By this time the pressure from the New Senate and Congress and the law suits coming from a number of states will put pressure on the president to repeal the old bill and re-organize his entire cabinet to be more suitable to handle the ideas of Americans.
If the president is unable to change in a way that the new leadership and the American people can believe in, then this could be the final "Waterloo" moment some leaders like DeMint predicted.
So, instead of waiting to let the earth dry, now is the time as Bob calls out to literally stick to the game plan to just write the bill right now with a combined force of true allies and get it out in its readable form to all the land this summer. Give Americans what they asked for in Town Hall meetings all last year, but did not get. Give them a voice and a choice.

Dear Gov. Huckabee, with reference to your March 28th PM show. Respectfully, the worst possible strategy for the Republicans would be to offer those statutes in the present bill they desire to keep, and attempt to repeal the non acceptable items. This would open debate on the entire bill, and could continue at length with us in a defensive posture. The most practical, efficient and limiting to the Democrats, is to prepare & present a condensed, more simplified bill focusing on emphasizing care & saving dollars. Direct the public to our side,& show initiative,..not continue to wade in this 2500 page quagmire. The Yale M.D. is so incorrect with practicality, & typical of his "preventative" world. In Ca., our emergency rooms are overwhelmed (60 + have closed) with treatment that is not an "emergency". By law the patient must be treated..open 24 hrs. a day! Fewer Drs...i.e. poorer
care..that's one of the issues with this bill!
There are needs in our Medical care, and they can be solved, but
not this 2500 page monstrosity that will ruin our present health care. Only for credibility I offer the following. I'm 83, married 62 yrs.,
WW2 Vet (Navy corpsman..pronounced
core man), college GI bill and have been in our medical industry over 45 yrs...from sales to Board member
of Medical companies. Over 5 yrs I was active in medical product distribution, and consultation, in Europe & Canada. This bill will produce disastrous consequences, to our health care system, and economically, for many reasons, and I can be specific.
Finally,if you have read this far, books are sold because of the credibility of the author, and his/her expertise of the subject.
Just look at who the "writers" of this piece of insanity! Why would
anyone accept them as qualified to
write even a..... children's book???Thank you Gov. Huckabee,
Bob Bush

So when Obama turns that notion on its head and starts treating our friends like enemies and our enemies like old buddies, it came as something of a surprise. Dem Senator: Health Legislation Will Address The "Mal-Distribution Of Income In America"My avatar there to the right tells you in a nutshell what "health care reform" is really all about for the Dems, folks.
Only after they've rammed it through do the cowards then tell us what their true objective is.
Sen. Max Baucus (D): "Too often, much of late, the last couple three years the mal-distribution of income in America is gone up way too much, the wealthy are getting way, way too wealthy, and the middle income class is left behind. Wages have not kept up with increased income of the highest income in America. This legislation will have the effect of addressing that mal-distribution of income in America."

Mark Levin...He's so funny...
Ok, so we now have this government takeover of our healthcare. Barack Obama, Nancy Paloci, Harry Reid, and all the other radical socialist/marxists are telling us that Healthcare is a RIGHT. Right?
Everyone has a god given right to Healthcare...
OK...
The first time the government denys you any healthcare at all...we need to call our congressmen, senators, Harry and Nancy...and DEMAND OUR GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO OUR HEALTHCARE! IT A RIGHT. WE WANT OUR HEALTHCARE AND WE WANT IT RIGHT NOW!!!!!
Obama said its a right! OK OBAMA...I WANT MY HEALTHCARE AND I DEMAND IT...ITS MY RIGHT...I WANT IT NOW!!!!!
WE HAVE A RIGHT TO HEALTHCARE...
I need a hip replacement...they say the proceedure is not the right proceedure for you, but your doctor says you need it...YOU NEED THAT HIP REPLACEMENT OR YOU WILL BE IN PAIN FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE...I WANT THAT HIP REPLACEMENT...HEALTHCARE IS A RIGHT...I DEMAND MY HIP REPLACEMENT RIGHT NOW...OUR DICTATORS SAID WE HAVE A RIGHT TO HEALTHCARE...GIVE IT TO ME NOW!!!!!
Are they going to deny you the medicines you need to keep you alive? Maybe you need a certain prescription to keep you from having a heart attack or you need a pacemaker-that medicine is way too expensive for us to prescribe...you are 85 years old and who knows if the medicine will work anyway...I THOUGHT THAT OBAMA AND HARRY AND NANCY AND KERRY AND SCHUMER...ETC...ETC...ETC SAID THAT HEALTHCARE IS A RIGHT...WE HAVE A RIGHT TO COST SAVING HEALTH CARE... WELL YOU BETTER GIVE ME WHAT I NEED BECAUSE ITS A RIGHT AND YOU SAID I HAD A RIGHT TO HAVE IT...I DEMAND YOU GIVE ME THE MEDICINES I NEED TO LIVE BECAUSE IT IS MY GOD GIVEN RIGHT!!!!! GIVE IT TO ME NOW!!!!!

YOU CANNOT HAVE NO MORE THAN 940 BILLION DOLLARS TO FUND OUR HEALTHCARE. ITS THE LAW. YOU SAID SO OH ANNOINTED ONE.
This is our wonderful utopia that our Beloved Barry Promised us. I'm so excited that its law now...

...He does not suffer the progressive, liberal fool lightly!!!!! So beware...I went on Mark Levin's Website yesterday and you can listen to his shows by link on his website. He will knock your socks off. We need more people like Mark Levin. He tells it like it is.
If you want to get fired up and ready to get up and fight for Liberty and Freedom...go and listen to him and some of his taped talk shows. He will fire you up and give you strength to buck up and get ready for the fight of our lives in the country. We are going to need all the fire in the belly, so to speak, as we can get. Cause the Marxists that have taken control of our country are really emboldened because they got what they finally wanted...its not all that they want...but its so close...they can taste it...its sweet as honey in their mouths but very bitter in OUR tommies. they have taken already so much of our freedom from us. They have brainwashed our children in our schls and especially in our colleges and universities. WE HAVE GOT TO WAKE UP AND START FIGHTING BACK AND NOT BE AFRAID OF THE SLANDERS THAT THEY ARE GOING TO THROW AT US...ARE THROWING AT US...They are stealing the hearts and minds of our children in this country. I think we are awake but young people...I watch those young people in Canada and the hatred that they were spewing at Ann Coulter and they had the guts to call Ann Coulter a hater. They cannot see because they have a great big beam of progressive brainwashing poking straight thru their eyes and so they cannot see that what they say of her they are themselves the same hater...Its really scarry...I'm scarred for those young people...they need to wake up from the progressive marxist fog that is clouding their vision. Its really a sad thing.
I'm ready to fight, I will not let this tyrannical government tell me what I can and cannot purchase. You HAVE TO PURCHASE SOMETHING YOU DON'T WANT TO PURCHASE. WHAT RIGHT DOES THIS GOVERNMENT HAVE TO TELL YOU WHAT YOU CAN AND CANNOT PURCHASE. THIS IS VERY VERY VERY VERY UNCONSTITUTIONAL. I WILL INVOKE MY 4TH AMMENDMENT RIGHTS WHEN THEY COME TO ME THROUGH THE IRS AND THREATEN TO FINE ME, AND ALL THE OTHER THREATS THEY WILL COME AFTER ME WITH.
I am resolved. I will go to jail before this tyrannical government will tell me what I can purchase and what I cannot purchase in this country. If you think that this government has the right to tell you what you can purchase even if you don't want to purchase it. Is not that tyranny? I AM NOT AN INTERSTATE COMMERCE. I AM A HUMAN BEING AND AM ENDOWED BY MY CREATOR WITH UNAILENABLE RIGHTS...LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PERSUIT OF HAPPINESS...AND I WILL NOT LET THEM INFRINGE ON ME MANDATES THAT ARE UNCONSTITUTIONAL. NO WAY, NO HOW.
I WILL NOT FUND ABORTIONS IN THIS COUNTRY...WILL NOT DO IT. THEY CANNOT MAKE ME DO THAT. NO WAY, NO HOW...IF SOMEONE WANTS AN ABORTION...THEY CAN PAY FOR IT THEMSELVES. ITS NOT MY CHOICE...ITS THEIRS...
I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE ANY MONEY FROM ANYONE. DON'T WANT TO TAKE MONEY FROM THE POOR, DON'T WANT TO TAKE MONEY FROM THE RICH. THAT AINT RIGHT. THAT IS WHAT YOU CALL STEALING AND GOD HAS COMMANDED US...THOU SHALT NOT STEAL! THEY CANNOT MANDATE ME TO STEAL FROM THE RICH. THEY CANNOT DO IT. THATS TYRANNY. I WANT TO PAY FOR MY OWN HEALTH CARE!!!!! AND IF I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY FOR IT, WELL, I CAN WORK HARD AND PAY FOR IT AS I GO ALONG IN A LOAN AND OR PAYMENT PROCESS. THIS MAKES ME FIGHTING MAD.
I am searching for like minded people. If enough people in this country will do the same thing, and stand together in unity, WE CAN PUSH BACK TYRANNY. I'M READY FOR THE FIGHT...COME ONE, COME ALL LOVING LIBERTY, FREEDOM FIGHTERS, COME TEA PARTIERS, COME PROJECT 9/12ERS ALL, ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS...LIKE UNITED FLIGHT 93, WE CAN CLAIM OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST THE MARXIST TERRORISTS THAT ARE TAKING OVER OUR HEALTHCARE AND OUR LIBERTY AND FREEDOM.
Come on...Lets Roll.

Dear Mike,
I know you still have not ruled out a run for President in 2012. This lightens the load a little bit.
I have two ideas for VP. I know this is going way to ahead of things but, keep these in mind please, just in case we are lucky enough to hear the wonderful words...Mike Huckabee for President 2012.
Two ideas for VP:
Dana Perino. She is awesome. The progressives would just go bonkers at this choice...She is smart, intellegent, articulate, she runs rings around the current press secretary. Gibbs is an utter dissastours loon. He has the intellegence of a rock. I think I just insulted rocks. They would never be able to do to her what they did to Sarah Palin. I think you need to think about this...just sayin...
I also think that Ken Blackwell would be a pretty good choice too. Its too bad he didn't get the RNC Chairmanship. He would have been a better choice than Michael Steele. Ken Blackwell is an honorable man. I think, he also would make an excellent choice for VP.
Huckabee/Perino 2012 or...
Huckabee/Blackwell 2012...Think about it...just a thought...Hope for the future...

Why is electronic medical records not being discussed? That would be a HUGE COST SAVER.It would stop duplicated tests and medical procedures ,stop waste of the patient and doctors time and money obtaining, all this info they need prior to giving care. The patients updated medical history, diagnosis, medications and all other info would be right at their fingertips without all the paper work and visits. It will not effect privacy because we give all that info right now anyway.

How will this health care bill lower the cost of a lab, xray, c.t. or any other medical procedure. It will not. There will not be enough doctors to care for these people or even want to since they will not be payed for their services.

In order for this health bill to insure 30 million more people, It requires working tax payers to purchase insurance and that money will be used to GIVE insurance to those people that are not working and paying taxes. IT will not lower the cost of MEDICAL CARE in any way what so ever. I will only change HOW,and WHO have insurance and Who is paying for It.

RE: Dr. David 03/24/2010 12:06 PM
Author's summary:
"In short, those who oppose this bill because it's a Robin Hood bill are not wrong. It does involve redistribution. But that redistribution is largely about reducing the unfairness of redistribution that already exists...we do wake up today with a system that's significantly less unfair than it was yesterday, and most of that has to do with a fairer distribution of the benefits the government was already handing out."My response?
1. In other words, Washington politicians are once again attempting to solve problems that have been exacerbated by excessive government interventionism with additional government interventionism. Directly resulting, we lose more of our rights Life, Liberty and Private Property.

How abortion ever came up, from whatever point in time, that it is a health care issue is ludicrious.
Abortion is not a health care issue, but on a different level, akin to cosmetic surgery. Cosmetic surgery is never paid for by health insurance. Cosmetic surgery is a out of pocket expense. Health care is about the prevention and control of physical body disease. Abortion is not a physical disease.Sincerely

Governor Huckabee:
We need a Solomon (wisdom) and a David (a man after God's own heart, without the adultry/murder) to be in the White House. We need to have someone who has wisdom, courage, character, integrity, and experience. I don't know if you and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) will make a good POTUS/Commander-in-Chief/V.P. team or not, although I hope that you will.
What I do know is that we need to have someone in the White House who knows the Holy Bible, the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights, and WILL FOLLOW IT!!!
We also need to do more than just prepare for the November elections. We need to STOP the corruption that will ruin this (once-) great nation for ever.....NOW!!!
Mr. Obama and company have not followed the U.S. Constitution at all since day one of taking his oath of office. And when he was Candidate Obama, and there were unanswered questions of his Constitutional eligibility, NO ONE MADE him show the necessary credentials to answer the questions. But the Senatorial Commmittee made Senator John McCain show his credentials to prove his Constitutional eligibility. Why the difference?!
As I type this letter, Mr. Obama and crew are planning to scheme up ways to make illegal aliens become legalized here in America. If a bill like that passes too, then the illegals combined with the diehard leftist liberals could out-vote the legal American citizens in November.
WE NEED TO LEGALIZE THE U.S. CONSTITUTION AGAIN! IT IS VITAL TO AMERICA'S FUTURE!!!
And we need to be proactive starting NOW to halt the further destructive plans that are being implemented by the Obama/Pelosi/Reid machine.
I have a great fear for the future of this country!!!!!! Am replacing the words "hope" and "change" with "Prayer" and "Truth".

Re: The David Frum Article-Waterloo
Dr. David 03/22/2010 04:17 PM Thank you for sharing the Frum excerpt.
I wonder if David Frum could have added other "spiked cannons" like Glenn Beck and Mitt Romney to his list of people like Rush Limbaugh who call themselves conservatives and who hope for Obama and for Republicans to fail. A pattern is revealing itself.
It is really unfair to the American people what these folks are doing. Pretending to be something they are not. These people are using the media to figuratively yell fire in theaters where fires do not exist, and keep quiet in theaters where fires are burning out of control.
Frum is right about these responsibility-free talkers and hopefully he will now figure out a way to articulate what can be done about such people who seem to have no allegiance to the Republic for which it stands.
Had Limbaugh and Beck used the same zeal to go after Romney, Kennedy and Kerry week after week as three failed presidential candidates from MA who provided the game plan for President Obama and his DINOS (the old paradigm) to provide corporate bailouts and push the MA-like healthcare bill through by virtue that it had already been approved by Romney, Kennedy, and Kerry from one state in the USA, at least the Scott Brown victory in MA earlier this year would have made sense from the average Americans' perspective.
Scott Brown would have become the poster representative for a Tea party movement that resonated even in MA. Perhaps all of Brown's virtues and even the virtue of courage (as suggested by Newt Gingrich in identifying how difficult it is for a Republican to serve in the way Brown did in MA) would have helped Congress stop the madness.
Instead, we saw Romney, Limbaugh and Beck take credit for Brown's victory and guarantee two things. One, that the health care policies in MA created by three failed presidential candidates in Romney,Kennedy,Kerry would enable liberal lawmakers and media types to simply suggest that since "RINO" Romney helped create it in MA and Republican Brown voted for it in MA, then it means ALL Republicans must by default like it across the United States. Second, it took away from the actual belief that a homegrown candidate (not perfect at all) could win on his merits and roots (warts and all) in an epic David vs Goliath battle.
We shall see in the Senate if Brown has the courage to stand up and articulate his displeasure at President Obama, Congress,Limbaugh, Beck, Romney, Kennedy and Kerry for the right reasons. If he remains silent, then Newt Gingrich will know that Brown's courage is overrated and not to be associated with the patriotic spirit of another military man who helped out MA in the name of George Washington.
Rush, Glenn, and Mitt have sucked the air out of the Tea Party movement, left our fellow brother and sister "Republicans in Nature Only" and "Democrats in Nature Only" left stranded at their own Waterloo in Congress, and started a war with words and have gotten out of the way of the line of fire. When they were needed most in our nation's history to help bring peace and understanding, their "cannons" shot blanks or they shot at the wrong areas. At least more people can see the smoke trial they are leaving. Hopefully Sen. Brown, a military man, will speak up with courage and eloquence and explain with moral authority why Obama, Kennedy, Kerry, and Romney were wrong in trying to push the MA plan on the entire nation the manner they did and why Limbaugh and Beck should try and run for office instead of run off their mouths.

From the British magazine, The Economist:
As of yesterday, America had the most screwed-up health-insurance system in the developed world. As of today, America probably still has the most screwed-up health-insurance system in the developed world, but it's significantly less screwed-up than it was yesterday. The American health-insurance system we had yesterday was screwed up in many, many ways, but the most fundamental symptom of its dysfunction was that it failed to insure 17% of the population. Today, we are on the way to getting 95% of Americans insured by the end of the decade. The law will do that in part through increasing efficiency. In part, however, it's going to extend government subsidies so that more people can buy insurance. It pays for those subsidies in two ways: it taxes the rich; and, more importantly, it redistributes existing government benefits from those who have them to those who don’t.
That redistributionist element is increasingly the focus of the opposition to the reforms: many opponents are voicing a blanket rejection of the idea that the wealthy or fortunate should be obliged to sacrifice anything to help out the poor or the unfortunate. But here's the thing: many of the people who think of this as a government effort to take their benefits away, and give them to someone else, don't realise that right now, they're unjustly benefiting from discrimination by the government and by insurance companies. To a large extent, this reform isn't about Robin Hood-style taxing and spending. It's about taking the Robin Hood-style taxing and spending we're already doing, and shifting it around so it's more fairly distributed.
Let's look at how this works. First of all, the government subsidises health insurance for people who work at large companies by making health insurance tax-free for employers. That employer health-insurance tax exclusion amounts to about $250 billion a year, almost three times the cost of the bill Congress passed yesterday. Those government subsidies go only to people who have jobs at companies that offer insurance. The self-employed, the unemployed, and employees of companies (mainly small businesses) that don't offer benefits have to buy insurance themselves, on the more expensive individual market, with no tax subsidy. There's no rhyme or reason to this discrimination, but it's one of the major reasons why many people don't have health insurance. The new law takes a step towards reducing that discrimination by capping the exclusion, taxing the health-insurance plans of people who get very high-value "Cadillac" insurance (worth more than $27,000 for a family policy) through their employers, and using that money to pay for subsidies to low-income people (earning up to 400% of the poverty level) who have to buy insurance on the individual market.
Second, under the old system, insurers demanded that people who had been sick in the past, and were thus more likely to become sick again, pay much more for insurance. There's nothing evil or dastardly about insurers doing this. In an unregulated system, they have to operate this way; if they didn't, they would go out of business. But the idea that people who get sick should have to pay vastly more for insurance violates people's basic ideas of fairness, and indeed the entire concept of insurance. (A health-insurance system that can't insure people who are likely to get sick is pretty clearly not doing the job society needs it to do.) Essentially, the old system forced insurers to discriminate against people who were prone to sickness, and in favour of people who weren't. Americans strongly agree that insurers should not be allowed to discriminate on price against people with pre-existing conditions. (An ABC/Washington Post poll in early February found 80% agreed the government should bar insurers from rejecting those with pre-existing conditions.) With health-care reform passed, insurers will have to stop rejecting sick people, or charging them more, beginning in 2014. And this isn't a problem for insurers, either. As long as no company can discriminate against pre-existing conditions, the playing field stays level; insurers have not opposed this part of the reform.
Third, under the old system, a lot of healthy younger people decided that premiums had risen so high that it wasn't worth it for them to buy insurance. They figured they were better off taking their chances. In so doing, they were freeloading off of the rest of society. In America, emergency rooms are obligated by law to treat anyone, regardless of their insurance status. (That's because Americans are decent people who don't believe you should die because you're poor.) But healthy people who forego insurance are playing the same game as "too big to fail" financial institutions: they know that ultimately, if they're hit by a car, the hospital will have to treat them, and if they can't pay the full cost, the rest of society will, through higher treatment costs and insurance premiums. They're drawing the emergency-care benefits of the American health system, but they haven't paid their dues. The new law fixes this by mandating that everyone buy insurance. If you can't afford it, you'll get subsidies to help. But it will no longer be possible for healthy people with adequate incomes to decide they'd rather spend that money on a nicer car, and let the rest of us pay for their care when they fall ill.
Fourth, and most controversially, there is the issue of Medicare. Under America's old system, there was a vast disparity between 55- or 60-year-olds and 65-year-olds. Once you hit 65, you were more or less set. For the ten years before that, you'd been more or less screwed. Your premiums were much higher than those of younger people, and unless you were truly indigent and qualified for Medicaid, there was no government help. The new system limits the degree to which premiums can discriminate based on age, and it provides subsidies for those who can't afford private-sector premiums but aren't poor enough for Medicaid. It gets some of the money for those subsidies by cutting Medicare spending. And it gets much of the rest by raising Medicare taxes on the rich (specifically, from 1.45% to 2.35% of income, for those with earnings above $250,000).
Now, some of these Medicare cuts will be pure fat; there's no reason why the Medicare Advantage programme should be paying for-profit private companies to do a job the government does more cheaply. (Indeed, paying for-profit private companies to do things the government does more cheaply seems to have become a bit of an epidemic over the past 25 years.) And studies show that perhaps one-third of Medicare spending generates no difference in health outcomes. The new MedPac commission should be able to identify and cut out a lot of non-productive treatment practices. Some of the cuts, however, may represent real reductions in care. But look: America created Medicare because it wanted to guarantee health care for its seniors. It's unfair to create an absolute guarantee of first-rate health care for anyone 65 or over, while doing nothing at all for the middle-aged, leaving many of them unable to obtain any kind of coverage. Seniors may need to accept some limits on public spending on their health care in order to provide subsidies so that non-seniors can afford health insurance, too. And using an increase in direct Medicare taxes to free up money to make insurance affordable for working-class non-seniors seems fair.
There is one piece of old-fashioned redistribution involved in the new law. Because the cap on the employer health-insurance tax exclusion was unpopular with labour, businesses, and the public, the Obama administration postponed its implementation and made up for some of the revenue with a 2.9% surtax on investment income for families earning over $250,000. That sort of tax on the wealthy may be unpopular with the Tea-Party crowd. But it's extremely popular with the country as a whole. In January another ABC/Washington Post poll found the public preferred this approach to capping the tax exclusion for Cadillac plans, 58% to 22%.
In short, those who oppose this bill because it's a Robin Hood bill are not wrong. It does involve redistribution. But that redistribution is largely about reducing the unfairness of redistribution that already exists. There's no reason why taxpayers should be subsidising the health-insurance premiums of people who work for large companies but not those who own small businesses, why sick people who pay high insurance premiums should be subsidising the emergency-room guarantee for healthy young people who choose not to buy insurance, or why we should all be paying the insurance premiums of a wealthy 65-year-old while doing nothing for a working-class 64-year-old. The new system isn't going to eliminate the unfairness and discrimination in the American health-insurance system; we didn't turn into the Netherlands overnight, let alone France. But we do wake up today with a system that's significantly less unfair than it was yesterday, and most of that has to do with a fairer distribution of the benefits the government was already handing out.

To Dave Denver: Gov. Huckabee is not a reporter, he is in the role of a commentator and expected to express a viewpoint.
To Karin Grice: Sorry this is so lengthy, but it deserved a response. I am surprised no one has responed to you yet. Even top Senate Democrat Dick Durbin has clearly stated that this bill will raise insurance rates. How could it not? With who knows how many more new customers and regulations, rates will have to rise or the companies will become insolvent. The insurance industry (contrary to popular opinion) does not operate with a large profit margin - less than many other industries. Insurance rates are based on mathematical probability and the probability of higher claims just made a significant jump.
Many like yourself like to cry out on behalf of the sick and dying without insurance. I do not question your heart; I do question the reality. I'm not saying there are not people who need help and I want them to be helped - not necessarily by the government. Yet, the numbers cited for "uninsured" are, by many accounts, overblown. Remove the illegal aliens, those who already make substantial enough income to buy insurance, and those who can already qualify for assistance, the number of truly uninsured that need some way to help themselves is more like 10-15 million. Still alot, but far less than we just got sucked in for.
For every case of "those dying without insurance," I suspect there are 10 who are enjoying vacations, cell phones, big screen TVs, and new cars, but say they cannot afford health insurance - I have neighbors in this category. In many cases, the issue comes down to wrong priorities, poor financial management, and taking personal responsibility - not a popular term today. I teach in a public high school and daily see the mentality of students (who have learned by training) to expect everything to be handed to them because they deserve it.
Instead of a government bureaucracy, people in communities can take care of one another as has often happened. I have two close friends from my church who, within the last year, have had costly medical issues. My church and many individuals have taken our role as the "Body" to care for them and given them over $15,000 combined - without their asking. When Government steps in, this inhibits this kind of giving mentality.
You also mentioned there will be no new tax burdens. Well, now one of these families will be hit hard by the taxes and requirements in this new law. They have catastrophic insurance and pay the rest of their bills out of pocket. Their plan will not be acceptable as a "qualified plan" and they will have to pay thousands more for one.
THere are so many tax provisions written into this bill, how can you say there will be no new tax burden? Even supporters of the bill have not been making this argument. PArt of the way the bill is said to be deficit neutral is that it pushed Billions onto the states - my state of Indiana has calculated it will cost us at least an extra $300 million per year. States are already strapped and many cannot by law go into debt.
The deficit neutral claim is also based on 500 million in Medicare Cuts and the "DocFix" - neither of which is likely to happen. And when has a Government program ever come close to budget anyway? In exchange for uninsured who may have their lives "saved" by this - there are many who stand to be harmed:
- seniors, who by this new law, will not be allowed to add their own resources to pay for better care than Medicare allows.
- the unborn, who, depsite an "executive order" - will suffer under government-funded abortion
- patients who will die as they lose access due to a shortage of doctors
...and so many more.Just because there are some who will benefit, there are so many negatives to this bill and so many who will be harmed and provisions that are not in line with our Constitution (a somewhat forgotten document), the ends do not justify the means.

Grice, KarinYou seem to think that all this new bill does is keep 1,000 of people from being denied insurance. because of pre-existing conditions. And, being deleted from their insurance company if they get really sick.. There are 270 pages in this bill.. If that was all there was to this bill , it would have been just one page.
Nobody, seems to know what is in the bill.. It was all written in secrecy, behind closed doors. obama & pelosi both said that the bill needed to be passed where they ,& us would know what was in the bill.I really don't believe that they did not know... But, the congressmen & women did not know.. But, was expected to vote on it anyways... If it was such a good bill , why did their votes have to be bought?
I have a lot of health problems and have never lost my insurance, as long as I paid for it, I never would. My husband worked 10 long years at a state prison, where he could have free insurance & I could have it at 1/2 price.. I do not believe we will be able to keep it now , since this monster bill has passed... We also have Medicare..
We have always just got by from pay day to pay day.. But, have always paid our way.. We never expected the government to give us health care.. We worked all our life, and paid in for social security & medicare.. So, I don't feel that what help we get now ,is free.
I am proud of Neugebauer for stating this bill was a " Baby Killer "... Why does no one that is for this horrible bill care about the unborn babies??.. There are millions that will lose their life. And, the only reason is, they are inconvenient....
I was proud of the speech by John Boehner, he spoke the truth.. But, I do not want him to be the next President.. OReiley seems to not like the far right wingers.. I am proud to say I am as far right as you can get.. If they are considered christians that support life , The Ten Commandments, freedom, liberty & the pursuit of happiness, and that our leaders should be for the people...

This is a little like telling a homeless person to eat healthy. That person would likely reply, I just want to be able to eat. Paying my utilities is more a priority than making a contribution. Many Americans, like myself, have been unemployed for more than 3 or 4 years. We worry about loosing what we have worked hard to aquire. Every increase in our cost of living is a concern. Every new expense, such as the cost of mandatory health insurance, requires giving up something. I have gone through a huge portion of my savings for living expenses. While I was working I was able to become a homeowner. Owning a home disqualifies me from most government assistance. I am tired of being promised tax credits. They are of little help to someone with no income. What government programs or policies help people with no job and no income? I wish all congressmen could feel the pain. I say, put congressmen in the social security system and make them buy into the same insurance plan that they just approved for me.

I liked what Glenn Beck had to say today. He was actually really upbeat today.
"...these are the times that try mens souls"
~George Washingtonand those days really were times that tried mens souls too (I am sure).
Time for a mindset change...
I guess we just got to get back up, brush ourselves off, and get back into the battle again. We will adventually win this war. It is not over yet. Not by a long shot. And if God be for us, who can be against us?
There are going to be battles that we will lose, but we will, with persistence, win this war... So true Glenn Beck...

Brian,
Thanks for sending that letter, statement to Mr Stupak. My sentements exactly.
I just hope that Mr Stupak pays at the ballot box one day real soon.
I really believe that Mr Stupak knew what he was doing. I think he really did know that his deal with the devil was not real. He wanted an excuse to vote for this bill. So, at the last moment, he decided the most innocent among us, life at its most vulnerable, does not really matter in the scheme of things. What a tragedy. He must not really be as pro-life as he claims to be. Because, once you know that life does start at conception and that it is ordained by God himself. Surely you are accountable, especially to the one who even gave you life. I just don't understand His thinking in this matter.
My God, please forgive him, even though he knew what he just did.

Reps. Mike - What you say about the American people taking on a new tax burden or having to pay more for their insurance is baloney. Instead, with reform, thousands of people will not be denied insurance because of a pre-existing condition and thousands more will not be deleted from their insurance company's rolls if they get really sick--which is what's happening now. With the new legislation, thousands will not die. How can you deny that's a good thing?

Excerpted from a column by the conservative writer David Frum:
When Rush Limbaugh said that he wanted Obama to fail, he was intelligently explaining his own interests. What he omitted to say -- but what is equally true -- is that he also wants Republicans to fail.
If Republicans succeed -- if they govern successfully in office and negotiate attractive compromises out of office -- Rush's listeners get less angry. And if they are less angry, they listen to the radio less and hear fewer ads for Sleep Number beds.
So today's defeat for free-market economics and Republican values is a huge win for the conservative entertainment industry. Their listeners and viewers will be even more enraged, even more frustrated, even more disappointed in everybody except the responsibility-free talkers on television and radio. For them, it's mission accomplished.
For the cause they purport to represent, however, the "Waterloo" threatened by GOP Sen. Jim DeMint last year regarding Obama and health care has finally arrived all right: Only it turns out to be our own.

Now that this farce of a bill has been "passed" we need only to wait and see how many of the States sue in order to block it's provisions from raping their treasuries. I understand that eleven are already prepared to act.
Perhaps now Obama will get his thanks from the Supreme Court for his treatment of them earlier. -

This bill can and should be challenged as unconstitutional according to Article 1, Section 7 of the Constitution of the United States, in which is declared, “All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.” This is a very important point, as H.R. 3590, as it is written, was not originated in the House of Representatives; the taxes generated by this bill were created by the Senate, which is in direct violation of the reference Article (read Ethically and Constitutionally-Challenged Senate Democrats Warn Their Equally Challenged House Comrades), making this bill unconstitutional once more

I suppose it's not shocking that a right-wing lobbyist and Fox News reporter doesn't like the Democrats. What is shocking is the blatant conflict of interests. Mike, you work for a *news* organization. You have a duty to the American people to *report* *facts*, not drive the news as you're doing here and in your PAC. Lobbyists shouldn't be allowed to masquerade as reporters.

Allison,
If you need help finding folks that are of like mind, I suggest you follow HuckPac in your corner of the world. Also, the TEA parties have representation in every state, (I believe). If you need an ear to hear you; it sounds like your parents would be the first order of defence. But there are other young people out there who do not drink the liberal koolade.
Get INVOLVED with local groups and look outside the mess; and the activity will calm your heart and head.
FAIRTAX is a 15 year citizen movement that could solve many of our problems, but we must have folks to educate America on this idea. Read 'The Fairtax Book' by Neal Boortz and John Linder. It will take a moral Leadership to pass it, but even though it is March and cold: November is coming!
