Our colonial ancestors tossed that tea overboard to protest “taxation without representation” because they couldn’t elect a member to the British parliament. We’ve gone far beyond taxation with representation -- we’ve got bailouts without representation, boondoggle stimulus spending without representation, unconstitutional health care mandates without representation.
Critics of today’s growing tea party movement argue that Americans have their two senators and congressperson. But that’s not how our system looks to the tea partiers. They believe that the lobbyists on K Street have 100 senators and 435 representatives, and they don’t have any.
The lobbyists support both parties. They know that the sausage Congress makes has different seasonings depending on whether the Democrats or Republicans are in power. It may offer the flavor of heavier or lighter federal control, but the ingredients are the same. It’s still made from pure pork and we feed the pig.
President Obama’s promise that health care negotiations would be broadcast on C-Span helps explain why the country elected him -- he spoke to our hunger for fixing the system. Watch the YouTubes of him making that promise and look at the audience members, at how their faces light up. President Obama’s failure to keep his promise helps explain why a center-left state like Massachusetts elected Scott Brown.
The way health care was negotiated, the special interests had all the seats at the table behind the locked door in the secret room, and we the people, we the patients, didn’t have any. It’s as if we all played a game of musical chairs, and the American people were left standing when the music stopped.
On December 16, 1773, the morning of the Boston Tea party, 5,000 patriots gathered at the Old South Meeting House, a site used for both worship and politics. It was God’s House and the People’s House. The colonial leaders had no embarrassing back-room deals to hide either from God or their followers. Today our leaders are too ashamed to conduct their business in front of the people, let alone God.
Every member of Congress knows in his gut what’s in the people’s interest and what’s in K Street’s interest. If you think your real boss is some smug guy in a corner office with his Gucci loafers up on a mahogany deck and not the folks back home, those folks who voted for you, who gave you 25 or 50 hard-earned bucks, who put up yard signs and made calls for you, you deserve to lose. Shame on you, you shouldn’t just be fired, you should be tarred and feathered as the original tea partiers would have done. That’s my view and I welcome yours. I was just watching Glenn Beck's Wednesday program for the second time. He showed a clip of Barak Obama talking about cutting spending by going line by line through the budget and cutting a few hundred million dollars here and a few hundred million dollars there.
Michael Bloomberg has an idea about how Obama can make a decision that will save a Billion Dollars.
http://cbs13.com/national/911.trial.michael.2.1453481.htmlNY mayor Michael Bloomberg estimates that it will cost NY city a billion dollars to host the trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed - as well as cause traffic disruptions and annoyance.
If president Obama decides to relocate the trial somewhere less costly, or have a far less expensive military trial for the soldier of Satan, then he won't have to to defend his billion dollar decision to host the trial in NY. Obama also will be held accountable by opposing politicians, the public, the media, and the people of NY - for any lives lost if any other soldiers of Satan take the lives of New Yorkers during the trial. It could make New Yorkers very mad, spur Hillary Clinton or other New Yorkers to weaken Obama by challenging him for the democratic nomination - if Obama should decide to run for re-election.

The government leaders are definitely acting outside of what’s in the people’s interest!!! The historical taxing of the tea was a very mild injustice compared to today's proposed taxes. Where is the help for the common citizen to stop the madness?!Waiting for the next elections seems way too far off to save our constitional rights that we still have at this point.

Dear Gov.,
I have to say that I Love the show as well as the thought of being a more independent nation. I feel that if this current President is not going to keep us safe neither in the air nor on the ground, then maybe he should move over and let someone that has the heart, and moreover, the PRIDE of those that ARE fighting for us in a foreign land to take over the controls of this great nation, that as of now is going through some (minor) turbulence, I feel that if he continues to ignore the will of the People, and (God forbid) we should get attacked again, it WILL put us in a tail spin. I know that as republicans we get a bad rap for believing that we should defend ourselves and those we love, but taking the risk of idly dealing with such NUTS as Ahmadinejad while he is sitting back and laughing at us, as he turns the pages on his calendar watching one deadline after another go by, well it weighs heavy on my heart. I am proud of the elections in Massachusetts this week, where the people were heard by everyone except our (beloved) President, as he took yet another opportunity to bash the prior Administration. It has been one year already and he has not looked forward enough to get out of his own way. Thank you for all you do and have done. -

Dear Gov. Huckabee:
I hear you. My personal feelings are that we need a new economic system where the people are given more responsibility of creating their own opportunities and less of a government role in creating jobs. I feel all people need to be born with money. This would give all people the power to participate in the "fair tax" structure of paying taxes on purchases. In turn there would be more money going into the government as tax money. People would be able to pay for their own health insurance. We would not need a government sponsored health care bill for government mandates. Government would be able to be downsized. Of course there would be greater consumption. This could be controlled with programs already in use to reuse, recycle, etc. If people had their basic independence away from looking to this economic system for financial maintenance they could find their creative voice to add new jobs etc by forming new companies, and we would here from those souls who would not have had an opportunity to express themselves due the borrowing priviledges which have escaped them. When starting a business going into great debt is a very huge draw back. New jobs would be created due to the need for teaching more people how to handle money etc... would be created. but also more banks would have to be created to handle the money of the people. When I talk about how much money each person should be born with I think 25 million. This would ensure their financial stability for their life versus having worry about being laid off and not being sure about an income for basic necessities. Even if the Social Security were to be non existent people would not need. The people would not have to worry about the government dipping into social security pool. The government would have to print the money, since it has the printing press. The economy would flourish. There are more ideas I have on this issue. I know it would be a big change, but I seriously know that this economic system does not work for everyone.
It woulde seem unreachable to some, but I spoken to other people they agree that it makes sense. Please let me know your thoughts about this, only for the idea not about implementing this because it's only a thought at this point.Ann Bouchard

Am I the only one in this country to be outraged at the president saying "be-jeezus" on TV Friday? There was a time that any politician saying that would have been hounded out of office. I never thought that I would hear this, or that no one would care! Just had to vent.
