As Republicans campaign against Democrat incumbents nationwide, I hope they will use the following list to help them make their case to voters.
TARP or as I like to call it the Congressional Relief Action Program - The money for TARP was so urgent that Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and company didn’t add any transparency to the process and now we don’t know where much of the money went.
First Stimulus Bill - It stimulated spending in Democrat Congressional districts and created almost no new jobs.
Auto Bailout - Another bailout and another expansion of government.
ACORN – This corrupt organization was a favorite of House and Senate Democrats and well funded by their congressional patrons. Voters will remember.
Obama Czars – Special advisors to the President, circumventing the traditional Congressional confirmation process. The Obama administration’s widespread and deliberate use of “Czars” is a misuse of power and needs to be reined in.
CAP and TAX – Another massive tax increase on American families and small businesses.
Ben Nelson’s Payoff – Ben Nelson sold his health care vote to Harry Reid for $300+ million in lower taxes for Nebraska.
The $12 Trillion+ National Debt – Democrats in Congress spending money they don’t have. Mortgaging our children’s future.
Nationwide Unemployment rate at 10% - The Democrats are spending money like it’s going out of style and yet they are ignoring policies that would create new jobs.
The Government Takeover of Health Care - If the bill that comes out of Congress is signed into law, it will amount to a massive government expansion into our daily lives. It is the number one reason why Democrats should be defeated.
Huck PAC is determined to lead the charge next year to regain Republican Majorities in the House and Senate. We will only support conservatives. We have a December online fundraising goal that we are $9,119 away from reaching. Will you make a donation today to help us reach our goal? You may do so here:

Each dollar will be invested wisely in our campaign plan to elect conservatives nationwide. I hope you will be a part of our growing team and fund this worthwhile effort.

Please consider arranging a joint endorsement appearance in Massachusetts for Scott Brown by yourself, Sarah, and Mitt. He can win Kennedy's Senate seat and save us from ObamaCare with the right media coverage.

Mr. Howard: 01/03/2010
I am glad you mentioned Independent Republicans. I believe you may have something there. The TEA parties are closer in philosophy to the Elephants than the Donkeys, but we want the Constitution restored; smaller government; many of us want to see the IRS disappear with the Fairtax and we want Washington to know they work for us not the other way around. -

Governor,
Yes, the Republicans can make significant gains in both Houses but only if they run as Independent Republicans! The Tea Party movement is non-partisan and, trust me on this, you will NOT see Tea Partiers campaigning for, giving money to, or endorsing a Dede What's-Her-Name in New York! Newt Gingrich showed the American People what is wrong with "Party Politics" when he endorsed her this year! The People do NOT need any more Olympia Snowe's and Arlen Specter's!

To all,
Seventh There needs to be one election a year. There are too many candidates being elected due to low voter turn out. In Duval county 2 to 3 million could be saved if we could cut down on the nuber of elections. Multiply that by 67 counties and how much could be saved in Florida alone. It seems to me if in Florida early voting (14 days up until the election) and the absentee ballot, the people would have plenty of time to make all their hopefully informed choices (city, county, state and federal).
Eighth When Obama had his jobs summit there was no representation for the small business man, who represents 70 - 80 percent of jobs and capitalism. It also appears ACORN has been cleared according to a news article I read.
Ninth Sign up for Fair Tax updates on FairTax.org and FairTaxNation.com and join the Fair Tax and Tea Party rallies. Get informed, especially in your state and help encourage true Representation and accountability.
Tenth Share ideas and ways we can make our country better. Please let us know where the support is needed and how that support will promote real change we can believe in. I am wide open to suggestions.

To All,
First A Happy and Safe New Year!
Second There are many bills (Health Care / Cap and Trade / Card Check and related bills) in the process which effect small businesses, which in turn effect most of us directly or indirectly.
Third It is up to each of us to read editorials, articles, information about how your Representatives and Senators are voting on bills, amendments and other legislation. The public is able and urged to make comments online to our local paper's web site jacksonville.com for the Florida Times Union. You could have the same oportunity with your paper.
Forth You can view on cable C-Span (House of Representatives and Washington Journal) and C-Span2 (Senate and Senate Committees) to see your Congressional leaders in action.
Fifth you can use C-Span.org to see information about bills, and a lot more helpful information to help build your knowledge of all branches of government. Take some time and look at the primary menu items and their sub primaries.
Sixth Plan on going to Washington DC for the 15th of April rallies. Will America's Capitol hold five million plus Patriotic Conservative Americans? could we get the attention of Congress and the media?
I will finish up a little later, I have to go be responsible.

Michael Ricks, Donald Souse, SSC Hardcore Texan and others,
I think you have made some important points. While I believe that most of the representatives and senators who share our values still reside within the Republican party, the party leadership is corrupt and has contributed to the problems facing the country over the last few years. Also, there are forces within the Republican party and "conservative media" that will do anything in their power to put down social conservatives and make the Republican party exclusively the party of Wall Street and big money interests.
Finally, there are independents and democrats who share many of our values, but believe the Republican party to be the party of the rich and unsympathetic to the concerns of ordinary Americans. We must appeal to these moderate voters with real ideas and solutions, and with a compassionate and reasonable approach.
We should focus on patiently convincing others that our ideas are right and just and good for the country, not that their ideas are evil, unpatriotic, and bad for the country.

Our American government's elected officials should take a voluntary oath ... that first and foremost "Government shall do no harm"...
As I get deeper into the "process of government" here in Maryland, I am appalled, horrified, alarmed, at the moral injustice that our elected officials perpetrate on the poor and disadvantaged in our midst.
It is immoral what our government is doing to all of us but especially to the poor, the elderly, the disadvantaged among us ... the government promises the world but delivers stones.
The government uses poor people like a commodity to enrich the unions, enrich their buddies who bring "development" to the city, enrich the organizations who provide "services" to the poor, and enrich the businesses that save money and get around the excessive regulation of the work place by hiring illegal immigrants.
How can we be judged guiltless, if we continue to elect people who act so coldly and irreponsibly?

Your list is excellent but please remember Republicans who were in power are really to blame for losing Congress and the Whitehouse. Mike, you were basically ignored or attacked by many GOP elites and political pundits during the primaries and even now many are not listening to your message. I hope and pray the Republican Party wakes up and returns to their fiscal/social conservative roots and show respect to you and your followers in the future. I believe you are the only person who can beat Obama in 2012, so please run again.

1279 pages "of sweeping legislation bouncing around Capitol Hill" could expose the American people to another $4-trillion bailout.
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601039&sid=a48c8UpUMxKQ
Proverbs 22:26-27 Do not be a man who strikes hands in pledge or puts up security for debts; if you lack the means to pay, your very bed will be snatched from under you.
Proverbs 11:15 He who puts up security for another will surely suffer, but whoever refuses to strike hands in pledge is safe.
The legislation would only approve an additional bailout if it is 99% likely that they could pay the extra money back. Now, theoretically speaking, if the banks were to be such a good credit risk the private sector should be willing to lend the money - with an additional 1.5% fee to cover the less than 1% risk they are taking lending money to the banks.
But with the politicians having such leverage over businesses - you'd think private corporations would play nice with the overseeing politicians and give them plenty of campaign contributions. Uh... isn't this already happening?
Hey, is this legal?

Here's another article with a similar subject :
http://blogs.reuters.com/james-pethokoukis/2009/12/29/why-the-democrats-will-lose-the-house-in-2010/
Strategically, what I think conservative candidates must do is zero in on those issues where their particular opponents are most vulnerable.
Second, they must listen to, honor and respect voter anger and concern about the over-all direction of the country and redefine the direction they will take us.
Third, the discontented public, the frustrated conservative base, the independents and the tea partiers are all becoming more educated and informed, therefore candidates must be able to clearly articulate and demonstrate how (and why!) they intend to govern according to the principles of the Constitution. They also must be able to articulate what their Democrat opponents are really trying to do. John McCain failed to call Obama a socialist.
Fourth, the top-most important issues that conservatives need to focus on are TAXES, the economy and jobs, the insane growth of gov't (socialism), national sovereignty, illegal immigration, and national security/terrorism. We have got to contrast the dangerous, uncertain, and SELF-DEFEATING direction the Democrats will take us with a clear and positive, VICTORIOUS vision for America and how we intend to accomplish it.
Finally, there is a path that will lead to destruction and there is path that leads to life.
A common theme that should run through every conservative campaign, is to get the country headed back in the right direction (by that I mean back up instead of down), AND we must do that by continuing to affirm life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and those fundamental principles and values that make America and Americans so great.
We must affirm the oath to defend the Constitution, and articulate the arguments our founders made for individual liberty and responsibility, and articulate WHY they chose a limited gov't with checks and balances to limit the powers of Gov't and increase the freedom and power of the people. That is the path that will bring the greatest freedom, the best opportunites, and the most happiness.
We must clearly draw the line between the destination those fundamental American principles and values will lead us to, and the ominous path that the Democrats' big gov't, progressive/socialist ideology and their absence of values will take us down if we allow them to continue to spew their nonsense and impose their un-American policies upon us.

Governor Huckabee...
Thank you for your commentary above. I am in full agreement with you. As Ilan Hauer blogged below on 12/29, the #11 reason Republicans will certainly win in 2010 is because Mike Huckabee is out there, tirelessly fighting for "true conservative" candidates in every state.
The liberals and elites of both political parties hide with blankets over their heads, when you get the microphone, sir. "Continue To Fight For Us," Governor Huckabee, because we are standing firmly beside you. We are going to take our state governorships back, our state legislatures back, the Federal Congress and Senate back, and the Presidency back in 2012, which will be filled by a man with true character who is a leader with experience and a statesman who is a visionary...Mike Huckabee. We will return this wonderful country back to "true conservatism fiscally and socially."We are fired up, so "LETS' ROLL," as we owe it to the people that died to protect our freedoms.
Never before has a minority party in our nation been so purposely removed out of the process of government! Never before has the "will of the American people" been so marginalized and completely disregarded by those in political authority! Never before has a United States President caused so much chaos in our country and in the world!
Thanks for your inspiring speech in Omaha! Go Huskers...replace Ben Nelson!

It is hard to predict the future - but the democrats have a few other things going against them too. I don't know if they've kept any of their promises of more open government and transparency.
I don't see how it will be good for the United States if on top of all the money the government has just spent - we end up with a real, tangible crises - like a major earthquake in CA.
The southern end of the San Andreas has been describe as 10 or 20 months pregnant (overdue for a major quake).
I've read that scientists think it will take a 6.0 or greater quake around the Salton Sea to set off the entire fault. We may have just got a close call. There was 5.8 quake about 40-60 miles South of the San Andreas. Maybe we got lucky and this sapped some pressure off the fault - or maybe this is just piling up pressure on the San Andreas. Predicting earthquakes is notoriously difficult - but one day the Southern San Andreas will have to unleash its energy. The longer it is quiet - the more humans might feel secure. But the longer it is quiet (in general) the more likely the thing is to rupture. There has been a few seismic storms the past few years at the southern end of the San Andreas - this isn't a good sign for the area. An uptick in activity generally means the risk is higher.
I won't say that anything is imminent, but the short-term risks are now elevated. It would be wise for people in the LA area to make sure they have an emergency kit ready right now.

First, I applaud Mike Huckabee's article. Secondly, I like and agree with James Ragan's comment, especially that Republicans need to
"...establish leadership and get in front." now! Since the '08 Presidential election I'm getting to know more about Mike Huckabee, and I am now an avid supporter of his. I would love to see him run for President in 2012. He's young, vibrant, personable, articulate, and most of all he shows a "common sense, no spin" knowledge of the issues and reflects my views as to what to do about them. Besides, he's a fellow bass guitar player! -

The Republicans have an opportunity in the next election to take back the leadership in the house and senate; however, they can not sit back and wait for things to happen. They need to establish leadership and get in front. In my opinion, they are planning defense and only respond when the Democrats make a move.

Heres a thought: Why doesn't anyone realize that the Constitution has no party affiliation it simply expresses the right versus wrong approach to government and the proper implementation and interpretation of law! If the Democrats happen to follow the founding fathers and the truth they put in the Constitution or the Republicans happen to do it. It does not matter. Until we realize this My generation ( X ) will never take politics seriously or the freedoms we are loosing daily to socialism. By definition a Party line or affiliation by definition is its own kind of segregation separating one american from the other. One day we will leave behind which party is going to do what. And we will talk about simply RIGHT VERSUS WRONG based on the Constitution. Then after that we will STOP ALL TALKING AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! that is for all of you Shawn Hannity, Rush Limbuagh, Gretta, & O'Reily - So stop talking organize DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Make the constitution your center and not your party affiliation!

The Republicans might miss out on the House of Representatives as well. There is an up and coming contender with GOOOH - Get Out Of Our House. It is gaining momentum and their mission is to replace all 435 representatives with citizen legislators. Might be somebody to watch. I know the parties have made it from difficult to almost impossible for somebody else to get on the ballot, but they will.
