Health Care Alert: Don't Give Up!

The Democrats continue to push their health care scheme. They continue to craft a bill in secret, behind closed doors, while telling the rest of the Senate and the American people that they will pass a bill before Christmas.

It's not too late!!   Don't give up the fight. The Senators listed below are important to the Democrat's chances of success. Call them now!  Tell them to vote against the secret health care bill!  Tell them not to invoke cloture!  And while you are at it, remind them that the American people are paying attention and watching. If Congress doesn't heed the words of the people now, they surely will come November!

Call:

Blanche Lincoln, Arkansas               202-224-4843
Ben Nelson, Nebraska                      202-224-6551
Olympia Snowe, Maine                      202-224-5344

I am writing today to express my disgust with some of the things I have heard from our so called "representation" on Capital Hill.I believe they think America is made up of the totally illiterate. How can we, the people, give direction to our representatives when we are not allowed to have knowledge of the subjects being voted upon. Furthermore, how can our representatives make good choices when they themselves have not read said bills.

Calling Lincoln's office is a huge waste of time and she needs to be replaced!!! I called prior to the "bail out" and her aid stated that she does not need citizens to call with their opinion because she will vote the way she wants.Period. I stated that representatives were supposed to vote the way the majority of their people wanted and was told that she will vote in the majority's best interests if they agree or not.

I am writing you today to express my disappointment with the path that our leadership has currently taken. Certainly the leaders on Capital Hill understand the nature of our Democracy, that we are a country of representation, that is supposed to represent the will of the people. Yet, within a matter of months, with the rise of Barack Obama to the Presidency, and a structural balance in the House and Senate our nation has witnessed an unconstitutional and unprecedented power grab at the hands of those who were elected to represent our best interests. When our Founding Father's established the Congress and Senate, they did it with the best interest of the people in mind. They did not intend for our leaders to use these positions as an instrument to craft lengthy and overly complex bills, nor was it their design to have them craft bills behind closed doors, hold late night votes, attach legislation on the back of crucial defense spending bills, or use other methods of stealth in order to achieve their goals. Such underhanded and inherently dishonest methods are not befitting to anyone who claims to be a leader of a country as great as The United States of America.

When our leaders no longer represented the will of the people then what shall we call it? Are we truly living under a Democracy when our leaders make unconstitutional and unprecedented power grabs by method of stealth and deceit, particularly when such legislation is as weighty as a sixth of the national economy, is against the wishes of the majority of our citizenry, and has to do with something as personal as a person’s very health? What shall we call it when the government takes this very same power grab and uses it to fund something that a good portion are morally opposed to such as abortion? It has already been said by a wise person in the past, and I am neither ashamed nor afraid to echo it with certainty. We call it Tyranny.

The simple fact is this: if the current leadership can pass something as controversial and widely opposed as this Health Care reform by sheer possession of numbers in the Senate and Congress, than they can pass anything. In light of this it will not surprise me to see something more all-encompassing coming down the tubes. Cap and Trade? No problem. Immigration Reform? No problem. But these are only smaller pieces to a much larger puzzle. The seeds of religious persecution and an all out assault on the 1st Amendment were planted with the Hate Crimes legislation that was attached to the back of our last defense spending bill. This bill was modeled after similar hate crimes legislation in Canada, and there has already been an instance of intimidation through the legal system (even though overturned by the Canadian Supreme Court) that have had far reaching consequences to religious expression. The story is on WND. With this in mind, a victory in Health Care reform will embolden the Democrats, and will display that they have virtually unlimited power until the next election to pass whatever they want. Don't be surprised if legislation outright violating the first 5 amendments surface within the next few months. Their goal will be to solidify as much power as they can before the next election, if they can achieve this, than elections will be irrelevant.

May whoever votes on this bill tonight side with the people and not with the current leadership. Leaders change, as if walking through revolving door, but the will and determination of the people is resilient. Will you choose the side of a fleeting leader seeking to carve his own path into history, or will you side with the people who long outlast those who they have elected to power?

Just thought I'd share this article in case Ben Nelson doesn't have a change of heart:

    Tangled Webb
Sen. Jim Webb is the quiet man who could land a big blow on Obamacare.

    By Robert Costa

Don't know how to contact him before cloture vote except through this website--just tried calling his office--it's closed of course.

Of course we can pray. That's always the best course of action.

I have called all of the offices in Washington as well as home offices, eighteen calls to be exact. I got the same recording, "The mailbox is full" and more times than not, I was disconnected after the recording! The timing is just right for the Dems. It's Sat. and the offices are closed. I have been watching C-Span and they said the vote will be at 1:00 am Sunday morning, the middle of the night while all are sleeping! The hour of voting tells you all you need to know. I also understand that Ben Nelson's vote has been bought off with a "sweetheart deal". Forty nine states will bear the burden of increased taxes and Nebraska will be exempt! He also somehow overlooked the abortion issue. It never was important to him in the first place. I'm more than disgusted with all of them!

Thank you again, Gov. Huckabee for all you are doing. I wish you were my President!

So Ben Nelson is a "sell-out" eh? How do you look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself that's okay? What treachery being perpetrated on the American people! I can hardly believe what I am hearing and seeing this morning! IT IS NOT TO LATE TO PRAY TO HAVE THE HEALTH CARE BILL DEFEATED! Please join in prayer agreement TODAY, and EVERYDAY until this burden is lifted from the people!

And come 2010, railroad as many as these jokers out of office as you can!

    Incredulous in Canada,

I took Brian Snow's advice and used the GotFreeFax.com and the MyFax.com free service to try to send faxes to these 3 senators.

Senator Blanch Lincoln, US Senate at 2022281371 was successful.

Nelson, US Senate at 2022280012 did not go through, Fax out of paper?
BUT you can use his web site to send him a message!
    http://bennelson.senate.gov/email-issues.cfm

Senator Olympia J. Snowe at +1 (202) 224-1946 was busy busy busy.

Looks like they are getting swamped!

    WHY WE FIGHT

"Slowly... the Democratic health agenda is turning into a political suicide pact... So why the stubborn insistence on passing health reform? Think big. The liberal wing of the party... [is] focused beyond November 2010, to the long-term political prize. They want a health-care program that inevitably leads to a... permanent welfare state. Big government then becomes fact, and another Ronald Reagan becomes impossible. See Continental Europe."

CAN'T GET THROUGH TO A SENATOR BY PHONE?

You can always get through by fax, at least during business hours. Since people hardly fax anymore, your message will stand out from the rest. I used efax.com to send my letters (no, they didn't pay me to say that).

Blanche Lincoln's office says it's getting overloaded with phone calls.

    http://arkansasnews.com/2009/12/17/senate-health-care-bill-criticized-by-right-left/
    Last paragraph:
"Lincoln apparently was hearing from others as well today. In the afternoon her office announced it was experiencing problems with its phone systems in Washington and Arkansas because of an overwhelming number of calls and apologized to anyone who was unable to get through."

She also says this in the above link today: “I await the Congressional Budget Office’s analysis of these proposals to ensure a final bill is deficit-neutral, now and in the future, and curbs costs down the road.”

I urge people to write and call her and tell her what you don't like about the bill i.e., the large cut in medicare to the elderly and to in home care for the elderly.

Senor citizens chould be in an uproar at this bill.

Same with Ben Nelson and Olympia Snow.
