Conservatism Is Not Dead!

In the last couple of weeks we have heard a lot of chatter about how conservatism is dead and that the Republican Party needs to become more moderate in order to stay in power. The thought of the day by many Republican leaders is that we just need to listen a little more to what the American people want.

I think that both of these ideas are dead wrong and that is why I am working hard every day to help Team Huck not only stand up for the conservative values you and I stand for, but lead the fight in standing for these values.

Consider the facts: when Republicans offered The Contract with America back in 1994 to stand for limited government they gained back majority control in the Congress because the American people were ready to push back against the Democrats out of control spending and burdensome regulations. The Republicans continued to have a majority in Congress until they decided that the Contract with America was no longer relevant and they started to forget what they were elected for.

If you are a voter and you are given the choice between full blown liberalism with all of its promises and a government that will take care of you from cradle to grave and liberalism-lite which basically promises the same thing, only slower and more controlled then what will most voters choose? They will of course choose the full blown liberalism since there is no clear alternative.

On the other hand if Republicans run as conservatives and offer a clear alternative to this liberalism like Ronald Reagan did, then they will win!

Huck PAC understands this and that is why Huck PAC supports only candidates who are true conservatives and fight for the values you and I care about.

These candidates are not willing to give up on any of the three wings of conservative principles. They stand up for the social conservative values such as being pro-life and pro- traditional marriage. They support the economic conservative principles of lower taxes, limited government, and less regulation. Finally, they support the conservative nation defense principles of a strong military and a secure border.

These candidates are also not anti-poor, anti-middle class, anti-environment or any of the other stereotypes that are put on conservatives. They are exactly the opposite in that they want to empower the poor, by cutting taxes and regulation so that more are able to find jobs and live out their American dream. They work to help the middle class by letting them keep more of their own money and not making small business regulations so overbearing to help them reach the next level of prosperity. Finally, they are not anti-environment because they understand that while we need to be good stewards of God’s creation we should not put excessive environmental regulations on people that will do much more harm than good to the environment by keeping people in poverty by “taxing” them with new fees and costs.

So if you are like me and want to support the “Huckabee Republicans” who follow in the tradition of Ronald Reagan and are truly conservative then become a part of Team Huck today!

I don't think Gov. Huckabee needs to join forces with anyone else.

It's the Republican leadership that is so insecure that they don't know what they stand for and who feel they have to huddle together and give their endorsements and protect their country club.

Gov. Huckabee doesn't need any particular focus group. He needs to continue to fearlessly promote the principles of conservatism and our Founding Fathers moral values.

This isn't about creating coalitions. It's about standing up for what you believe. We don't need to gather groups. We need to unflinchingly promote conservative values.

The masses will follow a great leader. Once Gov. Huckabee is chosen as the Republican nominee he can choose his own V.P., but he will probably not be a senator, but hopefully will be another governor who actually has experience governing.

Donna Lee 05/13/2009 11:13 pm. I appreciated the passion in your comment about the Republican party. It is difficult to escape the feeling that the political landscape is controlled from above by powerful corporations and special interests, like the AMA, the ABA, the AARP, the NEA, and so forth. The views of most people are shaped by the commercial media who represent these interests. For example, I read on this website all the time strong opinions that appear to be a simple repetition of what FOX News wants us to believe.

I do not identify with Republican politicians, but I admire many of the Republicans ideas, like self reliance, the free market, and traditional family values. I would love to see Ron Paul join forces with Mike Huckabee, because Paul has money raising ability and committed young people. It might be a way to take back the Republican party from the powers that betrayed our trust.

All, I can add is, AMEN..... The only differance is, I do not see a lot people around me, that feel as we do... And, they are church going people that feel righteous, and any one that is opposed to the situation that we are facing with this new government, is the problem........

Governor, the problem isn't that we don't know what Republicans stand for--it is that we DO know, and we're outraged. We learned tons during this Primary. We've watched Republican judges make a mockery of Democracy by unilaterally declaring gay marriage to be legal. Republicans held full control for at least 4 years and their record is abysmal. Spending was out of control. Scandals among Republican candidates were rampant; and we were stunned and appalled to hear Republican office holders (such as Condolezza Rice)voice their "personal" beliefs in abortion and gay marriage. And indeed, Republicans offered their Contract and Conservative Americans signed on...only to have that "contract" breached and ignored. In short, WITH CONSERVATIVE AMERICA, REPUBLICANS HAVE A CREDIBILITY PROBLEM FROM WHICH THEY WILL NEVER RECOVER. Moreover, the GOP snubbed their conservative--and especially their Christian--base, shoved their unacceptable "moderate" candidates down our throats, and tried to force us to comply by pointing out how much worse it would be under Obama. It didn't work. When the GOP said "my way or the highway, many in my circles took the highway...and we (who have most always voted) didn't vote at all."

I live in East Tennessee--Republican Territory. At least 90% of my neighbors, coworkers, family, friends, and fellow church members are fiscally and socially conservative. But I can't name one person in my circles who isn't saying, "No More." Liberal-lite is not an option. When our choice is between a blatant wolf and a wolf in sheep's clothing...we'll take the blatant wolf. Sure the liberals wear their shame with brazen faces. But even Jesus favored outright sinners over religious hypocrits.

Even if there were real "reform" in the Republican Party, nobody I know would believe it. Our grass roots effort is to investigate third party options and independents. Don't ask us to give the Republicans a second chance. The Contract with America WAS the GOP's second chance...and they blew it. The GOP is D-E-A-D.

    Check out our National Debt!

    http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/

We already had serious problems with the federal govt on track to run out of money for Medicare & Social Security BEFORE this economic crisis by 2037.
Now, we're spending like a drunk millionaire at a Vegas casino...
    $2 trillion ANNUAL deficit!
I wish I could spend my way out of debt; as if living off your credit cards after you lose your job is a viable option??
The Feds are borrowing on the IOU program & printing Monopoly money to pay for bigger government??
    Can anyone say INFLATION?
In 1973, the dollar lost over 10% in value in a year, so don't think it can't happen.
Why else do you think your parents/ grandparents went to the movies for 50 cents & bought a brand new 1965 Ford Mustang hatchback for $2800?
    INFLATION.
If you're very worried about the value of the dollar quickly losing it's value, you can always invest in Gold (GLD) or diversified funds that are not in USD, like CWI.

When your operating system goes out of whack, you load Windows in "Safe Mode", right? It strips down all extras & unnecessary programs & only runs vital programs needed to operate at the most basic level.
Imagine if Congress implemented that idea.... to actually spend ONLY the money they take in or have a viable plan to pay off within the decade any extra expeditures?

What happened to dramatic cost-cutting efforts & running only the most vital of services?
Or should we close our eyes and throw huge Greek pillars on our credit card & never look back? :)

Americans are currently living in denial & sick of bad news, but ignoring the problem unfortunately won't make it go away.
Witty, inspirational speeches written by English majors won't save us. Sound Fiscal Policy will.

Implemented ideas do have consequences. Implemented Bad Ideas have bad consequences.
To Seniors: If you think the manuere won't hit the fan until long after you're gone, you're dead wrong! Socialized medicine with subpar medical treatment will be demanded when Medicare & our Currency is ruined due to frivilous Congressional spending.
Using taxpayer money to create unsustainable jobs that cease once the taxpayer money funding it runs out is not a viable solution.

Let's get real solutions implemented with smaller government and less spending, because after all, it really is YOUR MONEY TOO!!

Stay strong & God bless all!!

Deborah, get your numbers straight for the Senate. There are two Senators from each state who are elected to staggered 6 year terms. Thus, if every seat is filled, there are 100 Senators, and every two years we elect 33-34 Senators (though sometimes there are more seats open due to special elections).

Janet Folger Porter of Faith2Action was a guest on Gov. Huckabee's show HUCKABEE a couple months ago. I met her when she came to Dayton, Ohio with Janet Huckabee.

Janet Folger Porter has written an excellent article about the Hate Crimes Legislation that is being fast-tracked through the Senate as we speak. Here it is. You can even send FedExes to all 50 senators for a small fee.

IMPORTANT! CONTACT CONGRESS.ORG AND SEND A MESSAGE TO YOUR SENATORS TODAY!

They are trying to fast track the HATE CRIMES bill to punish pastors and protect pedophiles, possibly today!

Here is the contact message I just sent to my Ohio senators:

"Please vote NO on the Hate Crimes Bill. This bill is very unconstitutional, immoral and very dangerous to our families.

It makes no sense to protect pedophiles and punish pastors. Pedophiles who prey on innocent babies should be put away for life as they will never be rehabilitated. Pastors have a God-given right in the Declaration of Independence and First Amendment to preach the Bible and so do all American citizens have this right.

Even if this bill were to be passed it will still be immoral, unconstitutional, and illegal, and 90% of Christians will have to disregard it because they will not disobey God just because our leaders act in an immoral manner. Are you going to throw 90% of Pastors and 90% of the largest voting block in jail for honoring God by preaching the Bible?"

Go Here to Contact Your Senator:

Enter your zip code and send your own message here:

    Bad news and Good News:

The bad news is that last year at this time 50% of college graduates already had jobs lined up compared to only 20% this year. That means the economy is in the tank.

The good news is that conservatives should make a huge come back soon because conservatives believe in balancing the budget, fiscal responsibility, small federal government, and 90% of decision brought back to states and local municipalities.

    Go, Conservatives, Go!

Thanks, im not old enough usualy but politics is a big part of my life. im only 13. i always watched you on teh campaign trail until it was time to hang em up. But i've noticed lately that Obama does nothing to stop the Taliban from reaching the capital of Pakitan. Maybe in his min, giving the taliban nukes is great! WRONG. Also he spent 3.2 trillion on a stimulus package that has hardly done anything to help the nations economy. Yeah the stock market rises slightly then dips hard. He is devaluizing the american dollar which is the second most valuable source of economic use around the globe next to the euro! What can we do everybody!

    Thanks Mike,
You have said it all, I think I will send it to everyone I know.. The people just don't know exactly what the Republican stands for.. Because , politicians like Mike Huckabee they do not let speak..

The liberal media will air the ones that make Republicans look bad, all day.. The so called leaders that are being crammed down our throats...and are wanting to go over to the left.. Why have two party's at all???

The Democrats & liberal media is advising the Republicans to go more moderate.. That should be proof enough that we had better stay conservative, and even more so... After all they do not want us to gain any power, at all....

The Democrats are wanting the people to think we do not care about, anyone... And, I was guilty for years in believing Republicans were just for the ,rich...But, I might have been poor, but I sure did not expect any hand outs...

I think God expects us to work for our everyday needs, if we are able.. And, we are a lot happier & healthier in doing it, and have more self respect...

It's awesome to see Gov. Huckabee getting more outspoken. He's probably never going to leave the Republican Party, but he'll rise like cream to the top for sure because he's so reasonable, motivating, and inspiring!

What Gov. Huckabee was telling the GOP is that their leaders are becoming irrelevant because they've thrown their pro-life principles under the bus.

If life is not protected, none of the economic principles really matter.

Pro-life conservatives evidently make up 75% of the GOP. Can't go anyone without us because we are the engine that drives the GOP. Not only that, we have God on our side.

Go with God and you can't lose because God is a victorious winner always!

As soon as you elevate economics over pro-life issues, you're "Toast" as in "Mittens is Toast!"

Go, Huckabee, Go! Keep having your wife, Janet, on your show! Loved the Mother's Day Show! Neal Sedaka is great!

Need to have David Barton and Michael W. Smith on too! Please bring Michael Farris on with Janet Folger and Janet Parshall too!
