Shalom From Israel!

I arrived in Israel at 8am on Monday morning after an all night flight from New York.  I’d spoken at the Christian Coalition in Orlando, FL on Saturday night and earlier that day, participated in the “Call,” a gathering of 50,000 believers on the Capitol Mall in Washington, D. C.  It’s been a busy weekend, mostly on airlines and getting through airports.

It’s my 10th time to Israel.  I never grow tired of coming here.  I’ve been visiting Jewish families who have chosen to live here and raise their families here as well as meeting with some of the leading government officials.  I got here only to find out that the New York Post has a story saying that I said it’s safer to be in Israel than American cities.  Sometimes, it gets very frustrating to deal with the press.  I don’t think they always try to get things wrong, but boy, do they!

I didn’t say I felt safer in Israel than the USA, but that I don’t feel afraid in Israel, and that in SOME AMERICAN cities, I don’t always feel safe.  I pointed out that every city has dangers and risks and I don’t think of Israel as any more dangerous than most American cities.  Now, that paper makes it sound like I’m saying America is not safe.

Last week, there were reports that portrayed me as saying that conservative voters would be okay with Mitt Romney on the ticket with John McCain.  I didn’t say that.  I specifically said these things:

1.  That I committed to support the ticket and would do so.

2. That many conservatives would have a problem with Romney and that it had NOTHING to do with his faith, but his inconsistent views.  I said that I personally would still vote for McCain if he picked Romney, but thought there were many who wouldn’t, including many people who supported me.  I further said I hoped he didn’t pick someone to be his VP who wasn’t. pro-life.

3. I didn’t bring these issues up, but tried to respond honestly to questions.

HuckPAC Team, don’t believe everything you read.  (Except the good stuff!)

Gotta go for now---keep speaking out on the forums and watch for me on Hannity and Colmes on Wednesday night and Fox and Friends on Thursday morning.

Have a great day!

I am convinced that the only reason the media is doing this to Mike Huckabee is because they know Huckabee as VP ts the best way for McCain to win.
We all know the Media is for Obama!!!
Does anyone else see any other reason why they would do this?
I wish McCain could see the truth, but the media is hiding it from him.

Here is the link of the December 2007 interview with Tim Russert and Mitt Romney on "Meet the Press" ..... it is a real indepth interview and lasts nearly 50 minutes.... but worth listening from beginning to end of you have time........ Tim was so good at this .... boy do we miss him !

Pastor Rick Warren will be on Larry King Live tonight explaining that John McCain was not in a sound-proof room before the Saddleback Presidential Civil Forum on Sat. McCain spent half that time w/secret service in his limo on the way to the church and most certianly had cell phone availability.

The McCain camp is denying any foul play, but McCain was teasing about listening through the door and he sure answered those questions quickly. My guess is campaign managers probably did call McCain and give him the questions. Would have been too tempting not to.

Call John McCain at 703-418-2008 and tell him you would like Mike Huckabee as Vice President!

    Call now!

    Thanks and God Bless!

Does Obama's Rhetoric pass Scriptural Test?
    by Mrarbitrage

I wanted to write a column before the Saddleback forum regarding skeptical concerns I had about the likely outcome. I wanted to point out exactly what predictable tactics Obama would use but I had higher priorities as this day was my son's birthday.

I was concerned that Pastor Rick Warren would allow Senator Obama to get away with the typical tactics used to justify abortion and to a large extent I felt that he did. Pastor Warren asked some very tough questions and he delivered them with great diplomacy. However, it was obvious that Senator Obama was uncomfortable answering as he masterfully gave a long, drawn out answer in hope of preventing follow up. During Obama's filibuster, Pastor Warren clearly tried to interject but Obama forcibly continued with his strategy to my - and I'm sure millions of other Christian’s - disappointment.

After 2-3 attempts to interrupt the Obama filibuster, Warren gave up. When Obama finally finished answering the question, Warren said he'd like to follow up more on that but said that he had to move on because he had “allot of other questions”. This was a great disappointment because to any Christian with even a modicum of conscience – there cannot possibly be a more important, more relevant question in the past or current century.

Warren prefaced his question to Obama by saying “I know it’s a complicated issue,” basically giving a subtle credence to the notion that there may exist a gray area. But if so, it is NOT a complicated issue. It is only complicated for those who reject the absolutes that God has given us. It’s a “complicated issue” for the atheist and those who embrace Darwinism because to them it is all relative but I thought we were coming from the perspective of being a Christian.

Obama asserted that he is a Christian so for Warren not to hold him accountable on the issue –as a Christian - is a serious mistake in my estimation. What truly disturbs me is this fanciful notion that abortion can be “one of many issues” as though one’s stance on the issue is akin to picking one’s favorite charity that one is going to adopt as his cause. I believe that God is not pleased.

This forum was a historic opportunity as the two Presidential frontrunners sat before one of the most famous and respected pastors of our time, with the entire nation watching. For years I have watched as the same question that Warren asked has been put to candidates by non-Christian debate moderators and pundits alike. I have listened with vexation as the pro-abortion candidate answered the question with the same specious answer Obama gave about how he “wants to reduce the number of abortions and make them rare”. On every occasion the pro-abortionists are given a free pass by the moderators on the SIMPLE question of WHY they would want to do that. Pastor Warren could have exposed the odious nature of abortion had he just asked that simple question of WHY, why would you want to make them rare if abortion is not a wrong? That is the question that no secular moderator ever asks for fear of bringing “religion” into the debate. Most “journalists” don’t want to go beyond the surface because the way to truly address the issue of abortion is to challenge their justifications from a perspective of moral absolutes, rooted in Natural and Divine Law.

The fact is that Obama would have to admit that abortion is murder if he were pressed to explain why it is a “complicated issue”, why he thinks it should be “reduced” and why a women needs to carefully weigh “her decision” with family members, councilors, pastors, etc. THIS forum was the best opportunity for the nation to witness a proponent of the abortion atrocity while simultaneously claiming to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.

If a church is willing to cede that one can be a Christian while promulgating a policy of murder on other human beings, that is a church in a state of apostasy, the kind that John addressed in the book of Revelation. You cannot “make up for it” by having an admirable stance on other issues like mitigating AIDS in Africa. I am tired of watching people try to get this inconvenient debate out of the way and move on to the next topic as though one can offset the brutality of his position if he is more benevolent in his stance on other issues.

When standing before God on judgment day - there will be no “agree to disagree” and moving on in the way so many of our leaders are willing to do. It is true that “we are all sinners” and “nobody’s perfect”; however, it is one thing to “slip” and to commit a sin and another for Barack Obama to take a calculated position for which he has no compunction. So this isn’t a moment of weakness for which he will repent the next day. If this man has a “god” besides himself, his god is closer to the Ammonite god whose name was Molech. Worship of Molech included people burning their own children to death in fire, often by placing them in the arms of a hollow metal idol of Molech that had been heated very hot with a fire burning inside.

This is an egregious case of pandering by a man who knows that he needs to deceive a significant number of Christians – in order to win the presidency. One of the angles I expected Obama to exploit and I wanted to write about days before the event was the same form of casuistry used by every liberal Democrat who has tried to offset their violation of humanity.

He quoted the scripture verse from Matthew 25, Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” This is a beautiful scripture verse that we can all unite around. The problem is that the liberals have been twisting it as of late to dupe people into supporting their Marxist policies.

The Bible also is clear upon matters such as the sin of stealing. Ronald Reagan was bold and correct in calling the “Former Soviet Union” - The “evil empire” - for a reason. That reason is because Communism is a system of coercion that steals God given rights, property and subjugates the human race.

Jesus was addressing his disciples, those who were following him as well as those who would follow him as His disciples for millenniums to come. He said as Senator Obama quoted Him that “as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.” He was NOT speaking to the government. What merit, what sacrifice is there on the part of a follower of Christ in taking someone else’s belongings and giving it to the poor? Jesus wasn’t trying to inspire a bunch of pseudo-Robin Hoods and it wasn’t a commission based upon the amount of assets to be divvied by the state but rather a state of the heart as in the case of the widow’s mite. In His parable of the Good Samaritan, did Christ say that the Samaritan went and lobbied Cesar for a universal healthcare program to pick up the tab for the man found in the ditch? Did he tell the innkeeper that he would return to check upon the injured man to see if he could sign him up for public assistance? No, he took the burden upon himself with his own resources on his own initiative.

That is why I take issue with the American socialists who point the finger at those of us who have been giving our tithes and offerings our entire lives as we believe that our money is God’s money and that He entrusted us with it to be good stewards. If it were not for these prodigals who steal our money and waste it on programs that actually accomplish the opposite of their purported intentions, we would be giving even more of it to charities that are far more effectual and deserving. I would love to be able to give more than my 10% to the poor and needy through LEGITIMATE organizations as well as personally. It is noteworthy that a study recently concluded that Republicans give far more to charity than Democrats. That is not surprising when considering that most “evangelical” Christians are members of the Republican Party and tend to tithe as well as going into all the world on missions trips. This is much more significant than a “Charitable Remainder Trust”, which is a tax strategy where rich people like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Warren Buffet can pledge their assets to charity before they are dead so they can receive large tax deductions while they are alive.

It is completely disingenuous for someone to claim the title of Christian while not only giving approbation to the slaughter of innocent human beings but promulgating it into law and taking $300 million tax-payer dollars of Christians each year and funding the leading abortifier in the country, Planned Parenthood.

We raise our children to sing that “Jesus loves the little children” as the Bible is very clear about how much He truely loves them. I would have liked to have heard Pastor Warren ask Senator Obama for his interpretation of what Jesus meant when He said that it would be better to “tie a millstone around your neck, and be cast into the sea, than to offend one of these little ones.” Does Obama think that the children might not be offended by the procedure affectionately referred to as “dilation and extraction” – where the mother gives birth to 90% the child, then has the “Doctor” drive a spike into the back of his or her head? "Why were you one of the few people who stood in opposition to this act of barbarism?"

There are many churches throughout this country whose congregation are jumping up and down acting spiritual but are ignoring the Spirit that God gave them - in order that they may have their ears tickled. It appears that Senator Obama is more than happy to oblige them by contorting scripture to serve his political ambitions. It is time to put his rhetoric to the test.

    Governor Huckabee-
Thanks for continuing to stand for what is right! God knows what the future holds. He just keeps us going forward by trusting in His faithfulness, holding up His truth, and He will bless AND reward at the right time. He's always worked that way. We walk forward in faith not in sight. The world and it's views grasp hold of "whatever", but we as believers grasp hold of the "Rock", the Truth.

Thanks for being the CONSERVATIVE voice.

Praying for God's protection, power, and perserverance over you and your family! Blessings - Proverbs 3:5-6

Backers point to Rasmussen, Zogby polls

    Michigan Supporters tell McCain camp
only Huckabee can mobilize GOP base

Michigan supporters of former Gov. Mike Huckabee's presidential candidacy Monday said they have delivered a statement to Sen. John McCain's campaign urging McCain to select Huckabee as his vice presidential running mate.

The Huckabee supporters and other social conservatives in Michigan and nationally last week were shocked by the McCain camp's serious discussion of selecting a running mate who favors legal abortion on demand.

The statement -- delivered by e-mail and fax Monday to McCain's Michigan and national campaign headquarters -- reads as follows:

    1. It is our belief that a large number of Christians do not currently plan to vote for Senator McCain because of his past positions and statements on issues of concern to Christian voters. This includes many voters who were not previously involved politically but were activated to support a Republican presidential campaign by former Gov. Mike Huckabee.

    * A poll published earlier this year by the Christian Post found that Sen. Barack Obama and even Sen. Hillary Clinton outpolled McCain among Christian conservatives. (Notably, former Gov. Mike Huckabee was by far the most popular candidate among those polled.)
    http://www.christianpost.com/article/20080215/christian-poll-mccain-less-popular-than-obama-clinton.htm

    * Newsweek reported Friday that "a new poll from the Barna Group, a Christian research firm, shows Obama leadingMcCain 43 percent to 34 percent among likely Christian voters, with advantages among non-evangelical born again Christians (43% to 31%); notional Christians (44% to 28%)...Catholics (39% vs. 29%); and Protestants (43% to 34%). The only Christian subgroup (Obama) isn't winning? Evangelicals." http://blog.newsweek.com/blogs/stumper/archive/2008/08/15/loose-threads.aspx

    2. We strongly believe that if Gov. Huckabee is part of the Republican Party ticket, many, many more of these Christians and Huckabee supporters will not only vote for the McCain ticket but will do something far more important: actively and enthusiastically work for its success.

    3. The coalition supporting Gov. Huckabee has only grown in recent months, as evidenced by the Denver Letter to Sen. McCain signed by Christian activist leaders nationally.

    4. Of all possible vice presidential candidates who would be acceptable to pro-life, pro-family voters, there is little question that Gov. Huckabee has the highest name identification and recognition nationally. We believe his selection would overnight give the McCain ticket something it currently lacks and most likely cannot win without: a national network of values voters and volunteers passionately committed to the values and message brought forth this past year by Gov. Huckabee.

    5. Thus, this statement does not reflect merely our personal preference for the candidate we supported during the primary election contests. It reflects our political judgment that selecting Gov. Mike Huckabee as the vice presidential candidate is the quickest and surest way to exciting, activating, and mobilizing the socially conservative base of the Republican Party nationwide, the very coalition Sen. McCain recently said no Republican could win without. [Detroit News: "(James) Muffett said Friday that during the meeting, McCain (said) he respected social conservatives' views (and) believed that Republican presidents from Ronald Reagan on could not have won without them."] http://info.detnews.com/redesign/blogs/lowdownblog/index.cfm?blogid=438

    6. Further, two recent professional public opinion polls validated not only our political judgment but Gov. Huckabee's appeal to all voters, not just social conservatives.

    * A Rasmussen poll three weeks ago found that among all general election voters, Gov. Mike Huckabee had the highest favorable ratings among all possible vice presidential candidates included in the survey. (Notably, the same poll found that former Gov. Mitt Romney had the highest unfavorability rating of all possible candidates included.) http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/pt_survey_toplines/july_2008/toplines_gop_vp_candidates_july_25_27_2008

    * A Zogby poll four weeks ago found that "among likely voters, 27% would be more likely to support McCain with Huckabee on the ticket," the highest percentage of all possible vice presidential candidates included in the survey. http://zogby.com:80/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1530

    7. Conversely, it is our judgment that the quickest and surest way Sen. McCain could alienate, demoralize, and deactivate social conservative activists and voters nationwide would be to select a vice presidential candidate who they believe does not share their values and worldview. Those would include former Gov. Mitt Romney, former Gov. Tom Ridge, Gov. Charlie Crist, Sen. Joe Lieberman, and others

    8. While other possible vice presidential candidates are believed to share socially conservative values and would thus be philosophically acceptable -- Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Gov. Bobby Jindal, Rep. Rob Portman, Gov. Mark Sanford, Gov. Sarah Palin, and others -- none of them has national name identification and a national organization of volunteers committed to their support comparable to Gov. Mike Huckabee. For example, the same Zogby poll which found that 27 percent of likely voters would be more likely to vote for McCain with Gov. Huckabee on the ticket, found that putting Gov. Jindal on the ticket would move only 5 percent to be more likely to support McCain, while Pawlenty motivated only 3 percent.

    9. In summary, Gov. Mike Huckabee's selection as Sen. McCain's running mate would motivate more American voters to support Sen. McCain's candidacy than any other possible running mate, and it would mobilize a pre-existing grassroots network of social conservative activists and volunteers that no other potential running mate could match, not even those philosophically acceptable to the Republican base.

    10. The election of Sen. Barack Obama is unthinkable. Because we want Sen. McCain to succeed, and because we believe his vice presidential selection may be determinative in whether he has the grassroots volunteer support required for a Republican victory, we strongly and respectfully urge Sen. McCain to help us help him -- and make iteasy, not hard, for us to persuade others to support and work for his candidacy -- by selecting former Gov. Mike Huckabee as his vice presidential running mate.

    Respectfully submitted,
    Huckabee's Michigan Grassroots Coalition

I hope your trip to Israel is rewarding, I know you prob. support Israel more than any other candidate.......

Governor Huckabee, I hope you are reading the comments on huckpac. You have continued to speak out in a clear, consistent, eloquent manner for The things you (and we) so strongly believe in, all the while supporting Senator McCain. The way you described both Senator McCain and Cindy McCain during your speech at The Call, gave us an insight into their character and compassion and they couldn't ASK for a better surrogate. I greatly admire that, while fully supporting Senator McCain, you have not lost your voice to speak out on those things so important to you and your supporters. Your honesty and candor sets you apart from those politicians who will just say whatever the "phrase of the moment may be." Everything you have said has been in line with the views of your supporters and just remember, you will never be able to please everyone all the time, but you are doing the best job anyone could ask. You are appreciated more than you can know and we will continue to work to support you and the causes you/we care about. Keep pushing the Fair Tax. It is has alot of bi-partisan support. It is good to concentrate on those issues that are not just democrat or republican but American.....The liberal media is NOT OUR SUPPORT BASE and we don't care what they write. I talk to people out here in mainstream America and I can tell you, your support is growing and will continue to grow....

Thank you so much for giving us the facts. I understand why you must keep your promise to support the nominee. Thank you for trying to get our message of concerns about people we feel are unacceptable choices for VP. I'm sorry you took the heat for voicing our concerns.

Somehow I received copies of several e-mails describing how some fellow Christians have been mislead by some of the media's slanted reporting. Some of those exposing the “journalistic malpractice” were some of those that fell for the “journalistic malpractice” slant. It is clear you are right over that target or Satan and his demons wouldn’t be shooting you so hard! The devil is working overtime; because he knows his days are numbered. No wonder God told us to pray for our leaders! I will be praying harder than ever and I would like to ask other to pray with me.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 (KJV) “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”

Through all of those e-mail; I found you have some true friends that have surly gained my respect. We all grow weary in the battle at times and let our guards down. I'll also be praying that those of us fighting with you will have discretion to be able to see through the "journalistic malpractice."

    ****Israel Likes Huckabee!!!

"Governor Huckabee's commitment to Israel is legendary," said Hikind. "He is one of the great American leaders whose support of the Jewish state is inviolable." His political views on Arabs in the Middle East are welcome by Israeli nationalists. Huckabee told CNN in January, "It would be very problematic for Israel to give up the West Bank, from their own standpoint of security. The same thing with the Golan Heights--giving up the Golan Heights makes most of the Galilee a sitting target." http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/127205

    Young voters Likes Huckabee!!!

Young people make voices heard in Iowa- Young voters said both Obama and Huckabee made concerted efforts to reach out to them, and they were rewarded: Huckabee took 38 percent of the vote among Republican caucus-goers 17 to 24 years old, according to a Fox News entrance poll, compared with 22 percent for Mitt Romney, former governor of Massachusetts. http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/01/05/young_people_make_voices_heard_in_iowa/

Barack Obama, Mike Huckabee's Iowa Caucus Wins Are Largely Thanks To Young Voters- It was a turnout that surprised most, and one that carried significant weight. In Georgia, where Obama and Huckabee took home wins, young voters tripled their turnout this year, with more than 280,000 individuals casting a ballot Tuesday, compared to approximately 92,000 ballots cast in 2000. Obama secured 75 percent of the youth vote, over Clinton's 23 percent, while Huckabee's 43 percent overpowered former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney's 24 percent.

Youth turnout was the difference between a win and a loss in several states on Tuesday. In Missouri, where youth voter turnout tripled, Obama won by just 10,000 votes; 75,000 young people threw their support behind his candidacy. In the same state, 45,000 young people pulled the lever for Huckabee, far surpassing his 23,000 vote margin of victory.

Clinton took 44 percent of the under-30 vote in Tennessee, while Obama claimed 53 percent. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee captured 38 percent of the youth vote and won the state, while Arizona Senator John McCain claimed 25 percent

*Morals and family Goes to Huckabee!!!

Huckabee has closed in on McCain in the final days in recent primaries in places like Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia. Those states, like Wisconsin, all show a significant number of Republican voters who list moral and family values as their biggest issue when deciding who to vote for President. Huckabee leads that group 70-18 in Wisconsin.

    And

According to Zogby International's recent poll of likely voters, 46 percent of white born-again/evangelical voters, 32 percent of white Protestants, and 28 percent of white Catholics say choosing Mike Huckabee as a running mate would make them more inclined to vote for John McCain. --

***Rasmussen Report**** Huckabee has Highest Favorables among Possible McCain Veep Choices The names most frequently in circulation these days are former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, who challenged McCain for the GOP presidential nomination, and two sitting governors, Charlie Crist of Florida and Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota. But a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that the the possible Republican running mate with the highest favorable ratings among voters – Mike Huckabee is not even on most of the short lists currently being discussed. Huckabee has Governing experience 10-1/2 years- This makes Huckabee a Pro. and everyone else a Rookie.
I could go ON & ON but the list would be to long.

Wow! What a great update. I'm thankful for leaders like Governor Huckabee, because I feel that leaders like him reflect, more often than not, how I think and feel. Updates like this continue to give me confidence that I was right in my support of the governor.
    God Bless:)
