Now that the suspense is over, and we now know that Mike Huckabee will not be the VP running mate with John McCain, let's all do everything we can to get this ticket elected. Put all hard feelings behind us and unify the party.

I suspect Senator McCain did a very wise thing in not selecting any of the Presidential contenders as his running mate, for the reason that they cannot be jealous that one was picked over the other.
However badly we wanted it to be Mike Huckabee, I believe from every thing I'm reading about Sarah Palin, she embodies all the virtues, eagerness, good sense and likeability of Mike Huckabee. Although the complaint of her lack of experience, she has shown to be a very capable leader in a short time. She's smart...and not a rubber stamp for the inner circle establishment GOP. I believe she will hold her own in a debate with Democratic VP choice Joe Biden.

Go Senator McCain and Governor Sarah Palin, I pray that you will use all the resources and wisdom of Mike Huckabee in the next weeks and months of this campaign, and on into the presidential term.

WOW! Boy, am I glad I've got a computer again!

I'm sure Gov. Palin will speak in a different slot now.

Suddenly, my spirit is refreshed and renewed! The prayers to our Lord, faith, and the Word really works.

Watching the Republican Party Platform on C Span made me proud. When scripture is quoted to support our platform, I just can't help but be excited. It's wonderful to know that there are so many of us in these United States.

I'm babbling. Can't help it. I'm feeling really optimistic.

Wish Ted Nugent were playing at the RNC. He was on Glenn Beck last night. He thought Huckabee was the best, but like me, he recently decided to support the McCain/Palin ticket.

There is a lot of unity that needs to be had in Missouri politics themselves, not withstanding presidential candidates. You see, our governor Matt Blunt, who happens to be the son of Roy Blunt, house whip speaker or whatever that is, gave up his run for this year for another term, because he and Jim Talent went to work campaigning for Mitt Romney here, Iowa, every where in the midwest. So he is hoping to get to Washington with daddy on Mitt's payroll. Matt's a "true conservative" as Hannity, Ingram and the rest bill themselves. He's a real charmer. Everybody had already set up their runs for this years seats, and then Blunt gave his up and went after Romney. So everybody started scrambling for his spot. At least it is getting Kenny Hulshof in the governor's office, hopefully. He's a good guy. a real conservative. One lady that works for him is loyal to McCain, three others told me they supported Huckabee.

It is less than 24 hours now before Senator McCain will announce his VP choice.
Yes-my hope is he chooses Governor Mike Huckabee.

Those of us who enjoy writing and reading about Governor Huckabee need to remember
What the real prize is. The next president will, in part, be able to choose the next Supreme Court judges. If ever there Roe vs. Wade is to be overturned…it will be
the choice of the Supreme Court Judges.

Please, be supportive of the goal…and not just the Captain and
Co-Captain in the game of politics.

    GOOD MORNING Y'ALL!

Well I didn't sleep any better last night! The good thing, is that it gave me more time to pray. I guess I finally fell asleep at some point; but for some reason woke-up at 5:15 a.m., the EXACT time that Mike was to appear on Fox & Friends. So I ran down the stairs (half-asleep), and turned on Fox. Mike was already speaking. I was looking for some clue----unfortunately, he did not seem as happy as he usually is----he was wearing more of a red/magenta tie. His responses were great as usual, what discouraged me was his demeanor. The good news would be, if had not YET heard from McCain!

I agree with Together We Stand, that what McCain needs is passion! I have already seen Pawlenty on twice this morning, and he is about as exciting as MILK TOAST! He does not even seem to be very comfortable when he speaks, and rather uncomfortable & self-conscious in general. Definitely not a strong presence! Perhaps, that is what McCain is looking for?!

I also agree with Melissa, Jill, Maxine, and others----who feel we are being sold-out! Seems to be the "theme" this entire election!
Governor Huckabee has been treated terribly---even this morning on Fox, he was told to go water the plants!!!! SO DISRESPECTFUL!!!

In honor of Mike Huckabee today, I am going to wear purple! I think we should call today, NATIONAL MIKE HUCKABEE DAY!!!! Maxine, would you like to join me in wearing purple?! Anyone else???!

ABC4VALUES. Hang in there! I will be joining you in prayer!

STILL BELIEVING!!! MIKE HUCKABEE 4 VP!!!

    DON'T FORGET TO WEAR PURPLE!

    GOD BLESS ALL!

You don't suppose McCain went with Charlie Crist do you?

    That would be a disaster!

He looks old like Biden. That's about it.

    Isn't he prochoice?

He was strongly criticized by some advocates of government intervention in the Terri Schiavo right to life case when he abandoned further official attempts to keep Schiavo on life support. He was also criticized for not using his powers to investigate Schiavo's missing Department of Children and Families file.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Crist

Barak Obama has 60% to John McCain's 40% in Intrade. That doesn't look good.

McCain ranked 894 out of 899 in college?

How did he manage to do that? I've never heard of such a thing!

Maybe we should have chosen a home school boy for Pres. Probably would be more credible.

Do we have any 40-year-old home schoolers who want to step up to the plate?

In just the last 48 hours, the "Huckabee Fan Club" has grown 147%!! Which means Mike Huckabee's strength has grown 147% more!

People all across America are joining the Huckabee Fan Club left and right. They are all energized and ready to show Senator McCain the Huckabee fans are ready!!!

50% of America is now represented, that's a huge representation for Governor Huckabee. Come on now, let's pile on the remaining 25 states asap. We don't have a moment to lose!

Texas is still dominating the field, then Alabama and Michigan are trailing close behind. Can Texas maintain it's lead? Other states are starting to gain quickly!

Could the McCain camp be watching this movement? We can show him that we can rally around our leader Mike Huckabee at moments notice. We are the final sprint, come on let's take it up to 5th gear and pass up the competition!

Uh oh, what is Beck gonna do now that Romney's in trade stock dropped like a rock late today? Guess he'll have to change his program topic on his radio show tomorrow, LOL! :-D

  • Malone, Ted

    08/28/2008 12:57 AM

Glenn Beck out did himself tonight on his TV program. He claims that because Romney's in-trade stock has risen dramatically over the last few days, that of course means Romney will be the VP pick. Umm, Glenn, did you ever consider that the big money Romney machine might be manipulating the stock price in order to create a buzz about Romney being the "inevitable" choice, which is the tact they have been undergoing for awhile now?

While anything is possible, I can't imagine that McCain would injur his chances of becoming President by picking Romney just to placate the Beck's, Hannity's and Ingraham's of the world. Remember Johnny Mac, those are the same folks who went after you and Huckabee with ferocity in the primaries and you were the two left standing in the end. You need Huck's Army alot more than you need those talking heads.

JOHN MCCAIN IS HAVING A UNITY RALLY TOGETHER WITH HUCKABEE & ROMNEY IN MISSOURI ON AUG. 31ST!

This sort of sounds like JM is not picking either one of them for VP. I don't know how much unity there would be on stage if one was picked, and the other was not. I am thinking this is to give the impression of party unity! There is some speculation that McCain might be pulling someone "out of the hat" like Newt Gingrich for VP. Supposedly, he is not YET scheduled to speak at the RNC.

I am still hoping and praying that Mike is the VP pick! He has said a couple times today, that he doesn't even know if he is on the long list much less the short list. I believe in miracles, though, and WITH GOD all things are possible!

ON THE LIGHTER-SIDE! My P.E.S.S. (presidential election stress syndrome) symptoms are definitely getting worse! This morning I crumbled my protein bar into my coffee, instead of on my yogurt! YUCK!!! I was also having awful Romney dreams last night! NOT GOOD!

I have never seen so many PURPLE TIES in my life! I counted no less than ten purple ties the past two nights between CNN, MSNBC, AND FAUX NEWS! I also noticed quite a few yellow ties, too. Pretty funny! Perhaps, SOMEONE is trying to tell us something???

Well, back to e-mailing and making calls for Huckabee! ANYONE LIKE TO JOIN ME IN A CUP OF COFFEE A LA PROTEIN BAR???!!!! hee-hee!

KEEP UP ALL THE GREAT WORK, STRONG & FAITHFUL HUCKABITES!!!! KEEP PRAYING!!!

I've spent my on-line time elsewhere for the past several days--I hope Senator McCain is listening--there is a lot of internet activity warning him he won't win without Huckabee.

Those of us who are saving to "max out" in 2012 might want to rethink. We need to be ready to give all we can this election cycle to support HuckPAC candidates--hopefully starting at the top with McCain/Huckabee. THEN we should start saving for next time.

I'll echo the compliments to Sunny (and Jill and Deborah) I don't know how you keep up with everything. Do you take lunch breaks??? Anyway, thanks for all the great information you provide.

We already respect Senator McCain in many ways, but his running mate choice will affect our opinion of him tremendously.

Obviously, the most rational and Saddleback-sincere choice would be Governor Huckabee, who has the highest credentials in all aspects of experience and principles.

A vanilla selection of the Mike Lite variety will tell us that Senator McCain is not willing to do what it takes to really advance the issues that matter most, and at best we could expect four years of domestic quagmire and foreign entrapment.

A contrarian selection of one of the oft-mentioned pro-choice figures would be a needlessly self-destructive provocation that would nullify further appeals to values voters.

Worse yet would be the selection of Romney, whose deceit-based over-aggression is the antithesis of McCain's reformist, straight-talk career and message. To choose Romney would show such blindness and corrosion within McCain, that it would be very difficult to trust his leadership in other realms. We could never vote for a McCain/Romney ticket.

We are praying along the lines of Ephesians 6, that the highest and best victory will be granted. By the way, we still trust God to change everything in a single day!

Here is Jill's post with the numbers and a big AMEN--

But when you call, remember who is on the other end of the line.

Say you want to see McCain elected (the truth)

Say all the candidates you have read about for VP sound like they have a lot to offer, and you trust McCain will have a lot of great choices for cabinet positions. (true again)

But the important thing is to get him elected, and only Huckabee can bring in the pro-life people AND appeal to the working class AND bring some showmanship and excitement to the campaign. None of the other candidates offers all three. Romney is a detriment because he is wealthy and the pro life people don't trust him. None of the other candidates has Governor Huckabee's executive experience.

Remember, the person you are talking to feels about John McCain the way you feel about Mike Huckabee, and respect that!!

I for one will be glued to the TV during the GOP convention as will all of you I bet. The most important speaker will be Mike Huckabee. What a foram he will have nationwide. I do not know how he can give a more rousing speach than the one he gave at the C-Pac. Had me on the edge of my chair.. Do I hear an AMEN?? Then there was the one in Florida too that was teriffic. What a speaker our guy Huck is .. I am sure holding my breath and thinking the reason his name has not been mentioned is becasue he has already been chozen and not sayin right now. I detected a slight grin escaped his lips this am.. I thought Mr. Huckabee do you know for real something you cannot say right now?? Did any of you feel like this? I just can see our computers burning up cyber space !!! I peraonaly feel tho that a Kay Bailey Hutchion would be a winning ticket, that tho is my second choice not my first by any stretch of the imagation.. We dont need a Rommny , Ridge, or Penwalty . That would make me verry sick..

Well, looks like the media has recently gone into overdrive in pushing Mitt Romney into view for McCain's VP. The interesting thing is that the Democrats are already saying in bloggs how much they have on Romney.

I will say it again; if McCain chooses Romney, I will NOT vote for that ticket, period.

Here is the Jill Stanek web site that NEEDS your vote. She is the nurse that went before Congress and got BAIPA passed to protect the infants that Obama opposed numerous times. Romney is at 15% and no longer ahead with Huckabee at 21%, but Tom Ridge leads at 31%. Here is the website:

I posted this on Huck's Army, and I thought I would post it here, too.

    Let Us Never Forget 2008

My fellow members of Huck's Army (and HuckPac),

Sen. John McCain will announce his VP pick within the next three days. Some say it will be Romney, others say Lieberman, still others say Ridge or a pro-life candidate like Pawlenty. While we all want him to pick our Gov. Huckabee, we must realize that there is a good chance that will not be the case. If he picks Romney, Lieberman, Ridge, or another pro-choice candidate, many of us will probably sit out this election and redirect our focus to other concerns of life such as a career, school, family, church, etc. No matter what each of you chooses to do as a result of Sen. McCain's VP selection, we must NEVER FORGET 2008.

In 2008 a little-known former Baptist preacher from the small town of Hope, Arkansas courageously campaigned to be the nominee of the Republican party. Even though he never had the vast amounts of cash that other candidates had, he still managed to win the support of over four million American voters with grassroots support from Huck's Army. While other candidates wanted to focus on immigration, the war in Iraq, and the economy, Gov. Huckabee stood up for values voters and supporters of the Fair Tax despite media ridicule. His concern for the common man and his call for a positive, uplifting, "vertical" politics were refreshing to voters young, old, and everywhere in-between who were tired of the negative ads and multi-millionaire candidates. One could hear chants of "We like Mike" throughout this great nation not because he was a celebrity who offered "change" but because he was one we could trust to stand up for our values regardless of the political landscape. Even though he did not win the Republican nomination, he stayed true to the values which led him into politics and redirected the focus of millions of voters to "that which is true, which is right, and which is eternal."

If out of conscience you feel you must sit out this election, I fully respect your decision. I just might decide to do that, too if McCain picks Romney or a pro-choice candidate. Once the new President is inaugurated in January, we can again direct our attention toward electing Gov. Huckabee President of the United States of America and continue blogging, e-mailing, making phone calls, and knocking on doors in preparation for 2012. In the words of Winston Churchill, "never, never, never give up."

    God Bless America!

    To Sunny in California,

I have no idea how you keep up with all the links you add to your comments, but they are appreciated. You give Judge Deborah a run for her money. You are one productive Californian that Mike is fortunate enough to have on his team.

When McCain said 5 million. He did not want to give a dollar amount. Finally he said ok then lets say 5 million, but I know I am going to hear about it from here on. Just thought I would throw that in since it has already made the campaign ads as well.

The only place I have been able to hear all the DNC speakers is on CSPAN, (haven't really listened to many of the speakers). Most of the other channels have so many interviews and commentary you can't hear the speeches.

Today, our Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sibelius, spoke. I tried to listen with interest but just couldn't get my heart into her message, especially with all the criticism of McCain. I should be proud she was there, but all I can think of is her Pro-choice stand. She is a big supporter of Dr. Tiller, our infamous abortionist who does partial birth abortions.

I am excited to hear Gov. Huckabee speak on Tuesday about reform. Wonder what kind of reform he will address? I know it will be a great, inspiring message. Let's all pray that God gives him just the right words and a powerful delivery that will touch many hearts.

This is really an honor for any person, so we congratulate Mike even though we would have liked to hear him deliver the candidate for President's speech.

At the Saddleback forum, McCain answered a question about at what point was a person considered rich. His answer was "FIVE MILLION."
This answer will continue to haunt him. Obama and the media are already having a field day with his comment.
If McCain allows the “elites” in Washington to pick Romney (can’t imagine McCain would want him) it will surely end in disaster for the Republican’s.
People in America want someone, “like the guy they work with, not the guy who laid them off.”(MH) Romney’s ruthless and unscrupulous business practices and nasty campaigning should be a big enough deterrent to the “elites” not to try to force Romney on the base of the party. (US)
If McCain cannot see that Mike Huckabee represents what is great about America; a true inspiration of what a person can become if they work hard and “do the right thing” then he is blinded by his own prejudices.

We do not need another sexually frustrated man in the Whitehouse!!!
Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty quipped recently on, Max's radio show on WCCO-AM.
"I have a wife who genuinely loves to fish. I mean, she will take the lead and ask me to go out fishing, and joyfully comes here," the governor said before adding, "She loves football, she'll go to hockey games and, I jokingly say, “Now, if I could only get her to have sex with me.”

"A four year loss may cause the GOP to listen to conservatives again. By that time, we'll have saved up enough money to donate $2,300 to Gov. Huckabee and clinch his win in 2012."

I have been saving for Huck for 2012. With an Obamination, the right to life advocates will get fired up even more and keep Obama from his own agenda; the abortionists may even let their guard down, trusting him to deliver.

But if McCain gets in, we protectors of life might get complacent and expect McCain to carry the torch. Although McCain will need more than a miracle to get in without Mike.

Being on the GOP ticket this year, Mike will get some of the blame for anything McCain does that is not popular, hurting Mike in his run for president in 2012. So four years of Obama, if he survives that long, isn't necessarily the worst thing. If it rallies the pro-life constituency and keeps Mike unscathed for election in four short years. Even the Obamanites will be singing Mike's song after four or less years with BO.

Don't mind me, I am just trying to talk myself out of a depression if McCain doesn't chose Mike.

Anybody know Mike's speaking time on Tuesday? I would like to catch him, but have no interest in anything else the GOP as a group has to say.

They are really pushing Romney on the GOP Race42008 website.

If you want a lively discussion, join the debate! They still think McCain is going to pick Romney. Either they have inside info or we need to encourage the GOP that McCain is off track for '08 without Huckabee.

If McCain wants to win, he'll call Gov. Huckabee tonight or tomorrow and give him the nod.

If not, America will choose a Pres. & V.P. who only have one home each.

A four year loss may cause the GOP to listen to conservatives again. By that time, we'll have saved up enough money to donate $2,300 to Gov. Huckabee and clinch his win in 2012.

    08/26/2008 08:03 PM

It looked like Rich Lowery was encouraging John McCain to consider choosing Mike Huckabee as V.P. so the GOP doesn't lose this year.

Since Mike is still on the Tues night speaking schedule and Mitt Romney and Bobby Jindal are speaking right before the VP nominee, is it possible that Jindal or Romney could be the VP nominee?

What will HucksArmy and HuckPAC Rangers do if Romney is the nominee?

I don't want us to lose this year, but I don't think we have a chance without Huckabee.

I appreciate the posting of the Republican Convention Schedule.

On another note regarding health and lives, the New York Times did a short article about Vitamin D deficiency in babies.
    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/26/health/research/26rick.html?_r=1&ei=5070&emc=eta1&oref=slogin

This is particularly important for breastfeeding mothers - and only very few mothers have high enough vitamin d levels to pass it on to their babies. The article doesn't even acknowledge that is possible for women to pass on vitamin d to breastfed babies - so low today is the recommended and received dosage of vitamin d today either from supplements or moderate sun exposure necessary to stimulate the high levels of vitamin d that were naturally produced by our ancestors.
