MEDIA ADVISORY

Mike Huckabee endorses Ken Cuccinelli for Attorney General of Virginia

I am proud to officially announce my endorsement of State Senator Ken Cuccinelli for Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Having served as Governor of Arkansas for ten and a half years, I know the qualities that a politician should possess, and Ken meets those standards.  Ken Cuccinelli is a rare breed of leader who boldly stands up for conservative principles.  I would have been honored to have served alongside a leader like Ken. That is why I am so confident he will be a terrific Attorney General for Virginia.

This is a pivotal time in our nation's history, it is vital to remember that it is the record not the rhetoric that matters most when electing a leader.  Ken has a record few can match, a record that supports his conservative values.  That is why I hope you join me in supporting Ken Cuccinelli.

I would not be supporting Ken if he was not 100 percent Pro-Life.   Ken did not tell me he was pro-life, his record did.  All I had to do was take a look and see that it was Ken who drafted the senate parental consent law which passed in 2003.  This was a huge victory for both parents' rights and supporters of the right to life.

As a small business owner, Ken understands what over taxation and excessive regulation can do to a business’ efficiency.  Ken believes that in order to keep Virginia business-friendly we need to keep fighting for lower taxes and strive to slow down the growth of government.  Ken's record on the 2nd Amendment is without blemish.  It is his voting record that I am most impressed with.  Ken fought against liberals who tried to add unnecessary loopholes to the process of purchasing firearms, loopholes which were designed to discourage honest citizens from owning firearms, such as requiring duplicate background checks and additional waiting periods.

Virginia is blessed to have such a capable and proven leader like Ken. I am committed to doing what I can to help make sure the people of Virginia have Ken as their next Attorney General. I hope you will join me in the fight for conservative values and support Ken Cuccinelli for Attorney General.

My son has volunteered for Ken Cuccinelli and says he is a great guy.

The reason this race is important is because in Virginia politics, there is an unspoken but clearly-defined "career ladder." One must move up through the chain. I've been told that in Virginia, generally speaking, you cannot be the Gov. unless you are the Lt. Gov first. And you cannot be the Lt. Gov. unless you are the Atty General first. (Right now, Ken Cuccinelli is a State Senator.)

Ken will face a primary battle against another conservative, pro-life Republican, John Brownlee. I don't know much about him personally, but his website looks good -- protect 2nd amendment, solid pro-life, former Army Ranger, etc. I'm sure Mike must have had a good reason to endorse one of them over the other.

Virginia is a large state which used to be red but is moving blue (Democrat) due to a VERY large influx of immigrants -- some legal, many not -- in the northern part, near Washington DC. It has one of the highest per capita populations of Muslims in the entire country. Our Governor is Tim Kaine, a very liberal Democrat. One of our senators is Jim Webb, whose campaign slogan was "Born fighting," and who wrote & published a book years ago with sexually explicit passages.

One of our previous senators, George Allen, was a Republican considered by many to be a front-runner for the presidency. While running for re-election to the Senate in 2006, he shot off his mouth while a video camera was rolling, singling out a minority person in the crowd and calling him an ethnic slur. The video was widely viewed on YouTube and evening newscasts. Allen not only lost his bid for re-election, but his seat was lost to Jim Webb, a Democrat, and this tipped the balance (and control) of the U.S. Senate to the Democrats.

P.S. Did you see Nancy Pelosi claim that if we don't pass this so-called stimulus package NOW, then "five hundred million" Americans will lose their jobs? Ummmm.... the last census showed America with a total population of 300 million. Fuzzy math, anyone? Voodoo economics? How about... AGIT-PROP?

    That is quite an endorsement!
Ken Cuccinelli would make Virginians proud as well as all Americans. I wish you great success!

......And Virginia is also blessed to have such a committed person like yourself who is fighting for conservative values.

If we could revive the enthusiasm we had when supporting Sen. Chambliss, I'm sure we would have the same result for Ken Cuccinelli.

Governor, I'm sorry to hear about your friend on the Medical Board. I'm praying for his swift recovery, and I'm sure many others here are doing the same.
