What's Next For Huck PAC?

Many of you are asking me online and in line at my book tour stops what's next for Huck PAC.  Sarah and the team have been working hard on the next phase of development and I wanted to tell you about some of it today.

First, during Saxby Chambliss' runoff campaign we saw that Huck PAC supporters were able to make a real difference on the ground.  With over 4,000 calls made in a period of days by a few hundred volunteers we made a real difference turning out the vote for Senator Chambliss.  Moving forward we want to build on this effort and grow it nationally.

In the coming days we will form a National Volunteer Team for Huck PAC  Our goal is to identify volunteers nationwide, organize into local groups and then assist Huck PAC endorsed candidates.

We will also begin asking for volunteers to serve as group leaders willing to take a leadership role in their community.  These leaders will setup events, distribute literature, make calls, knock on doors and much more.  Our goal is to have at least one Huck PAC group leader in every county in the nation by the end of 2009.

This is one part of our plans but is a very important part.  We want to make a difference locally in the races of the candidates we are supporting (as we did with Saxby) and we believe having a volunteer team in place will make a big difference.  I will blog about much more very soon.

Moving the cause forward into the New Year!

My Jan. 2009 issue of Focus on the Family Citizen magazine just came in the mail.

They shared a Focus on the Family website that reviews movies, TV shows, video games, music and more -- I was very impressed by the thoroughness of the reviews.

The categories reviewed are 1) Positive elements, 2) spiritual content, 3) sexual content, 4) violent content, 5) crude or profane language, 6) drug and alcohol content and 7) other negative elements.

They money on HuckPAC is to help prepare for the 2010 races.

Keeping this website up is also a noble task. It can't be free to provide the excellent service that Gov. Huckabee is providing by allowing all of us to stay in touch and build a grassroots effort that will jumpstart even the 2012 elections.

This website was started on April 15, 2008, to help Gov. Huckabee donate funds to conservatives running for office and to help Mike campaign with Republicans who support the FairTax, the 2nd Amendment, and pro-life and pro-family issues.

We learn so much from this website, I've made friends across the country who call and email me regularly, and stay in touch with what is happening in the conservative movement.

I'm really excited about hopefully helping Gov. Huckabee on a second run for the Presidency and keeping the excitement and momentum high.

I look forward every week to every single broadcast of the HUCKABEE show on FoxNews every Sat. night!

I actually got to work some this week after being laid off for over 4 months and I am praising the Lord!

If anyone wants to donate to HuckPAC to help Gov. Huckabee cover expenses for end of 2008, you are allowed to donate up to $5,000 total for the year.

I plan to donate $20 Friday, and if you would like to match that amount, please feel free to enter DONOR CODE
R23732 (in section 5 where it asks for donor or event code).

God bless all the faithful Rangers who also donated on MikeHuckabee.com in January & February!

    Thank you so much!

As Bert Noyes so aptly said, a parody is a way to poke fun at something.

Barack Obama went on Saturday Night Live and partcipated in a parody in which actors playing Bill Clinton called an actor playing Hillary Clinton a "witch."

Apparently Obama thought the skit funny enough to participate. (Not that I would have chosen to do that because I would probably not have.)

The whole idea of the "Banking Queen" parody is to poke fun of Barney Frank for having a sexual relationship with Herb Moses, the head of Fannie Mae and presiding over the biggest economic meltdown in history, all the while he was involved in a sexual relationship that was a colossal conflict of interest while he was Chairman of the Banking Committee.

The parody also pokes fun of Barney Frank being a homosexual and the funny way he talks (that's why words were misspelled such as "compwain" for "complain."

If you listen to Rush Limbaugh at all, you would understand that Paul Shanklin is making fun of Barney Frank's abuse of power.

When Bill O'Reilly interviewed Barney Frank, Mr. Frank would not even accept one iota of responsibility for his egregious acts.

On the contrary, the Banking Queen YouTube video does not elevate Barney Frank, but rather it shows him up for the conniving corrupt gangster that he is.

Political correctness or Communism would not allow us to point this out in such a funny manner, but First Amendment Free Speech Rights give us the ability to shed light on Barney Frank's irresponsibility.

As a legal secretary who works with attorneys all day long who criticize and poke fun of everything they can think of, I thought Paul Shanklin's Banking Queen parody was a HOOT!

Wow! What was that talk I heard today that Obama is trying to get sanctions removed from Cuba!

    Isn't Cuba Communist?

And didn't John F. Kennedy have a Bay of Pigs Cuba fiasco on his watch?

Did FoxNews just report that someone backed up Chip Saltsman and said that Mike Duncan made a mistake by pandering to the liberal media?

"at least 12 uncommitted committee members have contacted Blackwell to thank him for his support for Saltsman and have expressed anger toward Duncan and Anuzis “for throwing a good Republican under the bus.”

"The term 'Magic Negro' has been thrown into the political presidential race in the mix for 2008. And the term 'Magic Negro,' as applied to Barack Obama has been done by an L.A. Times columnist, David Ehrenstein."

The term "magic negro" as it related to Barack Obama was created by an African American man named David Ehrenstein!

    So, what's the big deal?

These were just thoughts I had, maybe I should have kept them to myself. "No man knows the day and hour," so anyone pinpointing a time and date would be foolish. I think that in most likelyhood, we will be raptured before the seven year period of tribulation, but that doesn't mean that Christians won't face hard times before this.

God said that he would keep us from the "hour that is coming to try those who dwell on the earth," so we have assurance that He will deliver us.

Like you, I'm not saying that Obama is the anti-christ but could he be the anti-christ's John the Baptist? Just a thought.
A global finance system has to fall into place before a one world government can be established. The head of that government will be the anti-christ.
There will be a remenant of people remaining through the tribulation. How many, no one knows. Christ's second coming is in two parts. One is when he calls up his Bride and meets them in the air. The other is his physical return to earth to rule and reigh.
Of course everything we siee are signs and wonders of what is to come. NO ONE can pinpoint the date or time. Anyone who says they can are false witnesses.

I have a big question. What exactly is the money contributed to Huckpac being used for? Is it being used just to keep the site going or is it going to a 2012 campange fund? As much as I like this website, I wouldn't want to ask my friends to donate hard earned money just to keep this site up.

  • Goff, Steve

    12/30/2008 04:10 AM

I was not saying that Obama was the anti-Christ. I was trying to convey the point that the United States Government is currently assuming the role that the anit-Christ will take (mediator of a peace covenant between the Jewish people and their enemies) that eventually kicks off the Tribulation.

This doesn't mean that the anti-Christ will necessarily come from the United States government, but that their is a possibility that he could.

As far as the anti-Christ assuming control of the worlds finances, there is a possibility that it will not be something that happens when he first comes into power. It seems that he doesn't assume total control until his "wound" is miraculously healed. It is after this point that the whole world "wanders after the beast" and the ten kings subsequently "give their power unto the beast." The current economic climate could also give rise to the him especially considering that the tanking of the economy would plunge the entire world into economic chaos. There are also catclysmic events that change the shape of the earth during this period that would make it easier for him to assume control. Whether or not the seals are the events that help propel him to domination, or if they are a result of his rule--who can say for sure? II Thesalonians also says that "that Wicked will not be revealed until their is a falling away first," and until the Holy Spirit is removed. So the "wicked" isn't fully reavealed until a specific time, and since the world doesn't worship him until after the recovery from his wound, it may be likely that beleivers may indeed see the anti-Christ before he is "revealed" as "that wicked." (Many fundamentalist teach that this happens directly after the rapture and I think their is fairly strong evidence to support this.)

As far as the rapture, the view for pre-Tribulation, comes from Revelation 3:10 as written to the church of Philadelphia: "Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth."

It seems to me that we there is a possibility that believers could live through the beginning of the Tribulation. "The hour of temptation coming to try them that dwell on the Earth," would seem to point to the "strong delusion" which will culminate with the "mark of the beast", which doesn't occur until the second half of the the Tribulation (when the anti-Christ is manifested--not when he initially takes controll but when he is "resurrected." So I think it is possible that we will be raptured before the seven years, but I wouldn't say so with certainty.

The scriptures also teach that there will be Christians who will face persecution during this time period, and the bible teaches that the Beast will be given "power to make war with saints and to overcome them."

Many Fundamentalist (which I am) tend to teach that these are people who have not heard the gospel that were not raptured, and that those who have heard will not be given a second chance. I will not go as far to claim this. I would say that because of the strong delusion, they would stand a stronger chance of having their heart hardened, and because of this prolonging the decision to accept Christ is not very wise. The question is whether or not the Ladoceans who are "spewed out of Christ's mouth," are given a second chance. Since Christ tells them to repent this would seem to be the case, but they will do so at the cost of their life, that is if the message to the Ladoceans wasn't crafted to encourage them to repent before they are spewed out of Christ's mouth.

If the rapture isn't until right before the bowl judments, (as the Two Witnesses are elevated into Heaven) than I would say that their would be no second chances.

Only God knows what will happen without a doubt. I would say to anyone reading don't listen to my thoughts: Pick up the Bible and read it yourself. Otherwise you stand a chance to be decieved.

It was wrong to mention Obama's name in my last post. I should have left it out or made the second half as a different post. I don't know who the anti-Christ will be and it isn't wise to speculate.

PS to Doug: This wasn't an attack on your response to my post, just some thoughts of mine. Have a Happy New Year.

  • Doug

    12/29/2008 09:08 AM

It's my understanding from scriptures that we as believers will not SEE the anti-christ. The Church (Bride) of Jesus Christ will be raptured before the anti-christ manafests himself. Of course we have a few more weeks if Obama is in fact the anti-christ. Remember though, that the anti-christ will have control of the world financial market. Obama has not achieved that yet.
I know one thing for sure. The King is Comming and it could be in the next few minutes or it could be tomorrow.

That's why there was so much jubilance in the world after Obama won the election. Having validation from other leaders is part of their strategy. In regard to the current conlict in Gaza, they know that the outcry from the rest of the world will cause Israel to withdraw eventually, and they will use the ceasfire to re-arm. They may be testing them with each new attack in order to gauge the method of response on Israel's side, and assess the level of weakness on theirs. So we see how Isreal responds to different attacks in seperate regions--Lebanon and Palestine. This will give an indicator of action in a much broader conflict.

'Bama' will be at the wheel while Israel is conducting a major offensive into Palestine. Lets hope he steers it in the right direction. (Which one of our Presidents has, considering that they encourage Israel to concede to contries that are continually hostile to them? Maybe we should concede to Al-Queda.) It also looks like he will have to deal with another "Cuban Missel Crisis" type situation, that will be further exasperated by a conflict with Nuclear Iran. Not to mention we still have Al Queda out their gumming up the works. Throw all of this on top of a likely economic collapse and we truly have some truly monumental challenges.

So while my prediction for a McCain win seems truly absurd at this point, I still stand by my statements that this is not just another random point in history. We face as much of a threat today as we did during any point of our country's history, to include WWII. Just because it hasn't fully hit our shores yet doesn't mean that it ceases to exist.

I will not be so bold as to label Obama as the Anti-Christ, though students of Biblical prophecy would be hard pressed to note that a United States leader would fit the mold if Biblical prophecy were to be fullfilled in the present time, especially considering that the Tribulation is kicked off by the Anti-Christ signing a peace treaty with Israel and their enemies. Who is the main broker in this process? Since I do not know the answer I will say one thing--If our country were ever to become a dictatorship it would put the entire world at peril, because it would place the most powerful military in the history of the world into the hands of one person--this is why we need to constantly guard our Democracy, not only because it guarantees the freedom of our children, but because it guarantees the saftey of the entire world. The day our country collapses is the day that worlds light is extinguished. Weapons of of mass destruction have changed the course of history significantly.

In regard to Obama, I wander why these quotes were never brought up during the election? They come straight from the author's pen in Dreams of my Father.

"The emotions between the races could never be pure; even love was tarnished by the desire to find in the other some element that was missing in ourselves. Whether we sought out our demons or salvation, the other race would always remain just that: menacing, alien, and apart."

"In fact, whites are so heartless and devious that we can no longer expect anything from them. The self-loathing you feel, what keeps you drinking or thieving, is planted by them. Rid them from your mind and find your true power liberated. Rise up, ye mighty race!" (end quote)

There is also a section where he laughs at shrunken white heads in a museum; seems that this was a sense of amusement to him.

Does any of this rhetoric sound familiar to anyone? (Obama's, not mine.)

Gov. Huckabee, you outdid yourself again with the wrap up of the HUCKABEE year.

How sweet to be reminded of Michael and the other porkers and all the Congressional spending. Please bring the pigs back on! They were awesome!

The Hockey Moms for Gov. Palin were really special, the woman who bought the foreclosed house and gave it back to the owner, and Joe the Plumber all touched our hearts and lives this year.

Lauren Green's jailhouse outfit and the Bail House Rock were the crowning touch to a really blessed year.

Even though Hurricane Ike made it all the way to Ohio, we've been so blessed to have you champion conservative causes and the great people of America. You've touched all our lives.

Did you realize that in 2005 Congress tried to pass amendments making naturalized citizens eligible for the presidency but failed?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._President

"In 2005, two amendments to the Constitution of the United States were proposed to permit persons having been citizens of the United States for many years but not being natural-born citizens to hold the Office of President. Neither bill got any further action beyond that year. H.J.RES.2, introduced on January 4, 2005, sponsored by Rep. John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI-14) and cosponsored by Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA-27), would require 20 years of citizenship for naturalized Americans to be eligible to hold the Office of President.[6] H.J.RES.42, introduced on April 14, 2005, sponsored by Rep. Vic Snyder (D-AR-2) and cosponsored by Christopher Shays (R-CT-4), would require 35 years of citizenship for naturalized Americans to be eligible to hold the offices of President and Vice President." http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d109:HJ00042:|/bss/d109query.html|

Here is the list of past U.S. presidents:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Presidents_of_the_United_States

Actually, we did have Republican presidents for 16 years straight from 1869-1885 and Republicans again for 16 years straight from 1897-1913, again for 12 years from 1921-1933, then we had 20 years of Democratic rule from 1933 to 1953, and 12 more years of Republican rule from 1981-1993.

So there were actually at least 5 times that either party had control for more than 2 terms straight.

The most exciting development of all is that Mike Huckabee for President 2012 merchandise is already for sale! Yippee!

There’s also Sarah Palin for President 2012!

I think the fair tax would be the proper way to "shock" this economy out of a cardiac arrest, though it would have made more sense to do it before the bailout. But we couldn't expect our government to do something as sensible as making illegal aliens pay taxes and putting more money back into the American peoples hands on a consistent basis. Gee, I wonder how we can get people to spend more money, I don't know maybe give them more money? But we couldn't lower everyone's taxes by making the 12 million illegals that are skipping out pay up--that would make too much sense.

Now I'm going to cry over a little spilled milk--yes, I know it gets sour pretty fast. It appears that my "Obama polarization theory" was a dud, (At least it wasn't for me, I pulled the lever for McCain.) Fortunately for me I'm right even when I'm wrong. (Though I still think the American people made a huge mistake by putting Barack Obama into office.)

With this being said, it is understandable considering McCain's approach. It seems that he thought he could go to one forum, say the magic words (in regard to abortion) and magically get the support of most conservatives. I thoroughly believe that if McCain would have taken the issue to the stump, that most conservatives would have seen him fighting for their cause and would have been less turned off by his "lukewarm" stance. Then again nothing may have saved him, especially considering that no party has ever won an election after serving two terms. (I heard this on the news so its true.)

This means that the Democratic Party almost did something that no other party did in the year of 2000--they came close to winning a third term. This doesn't exactly speak to the strength of the Republican party--ok I was going to say more, but I'm a little out of steam.

That battle axe above my fireplace has more than just aesthetic significance now that I'm aware of my Viking heritage.

I don't know if it is just me but Mike's book backs up what I've been saying that most of our problems falls in the lap of everyday main street not corporate bigwigs and politicians.
Think about it who's fault is it what we let ourselves be taking advantage of. The bigwigs and politicians are just like we are, greedy. Just like Jesus' parable in Luke 12:15-23. We work hard and we get. What we get is not enough so we charge or borrow. Corporate bigwigs takes advantage of our wants and gives us what we want and profits from it. Packets it and runs. Since we cannot control our greed, we want a government to regulate corporate bigwigs which requires a bigger government which cost more so we pay more taxes. When these corporate bigwigs gets their companies in trouble they call on our government to bail them out which takes more of our tax dollars meaning we have less to spend so we borrow to meet our needs and wants. We try to borrow from a struggling financial institution that is getting bailout money from taxes payers that are having to borrow money in order to make ends met. So we are using plastic money given to us from struggling financial institutions that......You get the drift?
The big problem is that these financial institution have everyday hardworking employees who wants to do the same thing we do. They pay taxes also.
A vicious cycle, a out of control freight train with no brakeman.
This Christmas, because of the economy, we are buying fewer gifts. My wife and I did not buy each other any gifts. This is hurting stores which in turn are hurting taxpayers who pay taxes. Since items are not moving, the stores are not stocking as much which hurts the shipping industry. Truckdrivers are taxpayers too. Sorry I'm so down. It's sad when you can give your wife nice things for Christmas. Many of you could not buy nice things for your kids and grand kids.
We need a brakeman who realizes what the problem is and who is willing to become the brakeman on the fraight train. We need to get Mike ready for 2012. Is it too early to start prepping him for 2012. I think not unless the Lord comes before then. I don't think the Lord wants us sitting on our blessed assurance waiting for his coming.

Here's hoping that all the Huckabee supporters are with loved ones this evening and on Christmas Day, will have a relaxing and refreshing break from the routine, secure in the understanding that Jesus' way is the right way, and will be ready to return to continue the fight to restore America to the condition that the Founders envisioned when they invented our nation 233 years ago.

Wow! I got called back to work next week in a law office downtown. The lawyer’s wife said that Mike Huckabee may be the one to SAVE CHRISTIANITY in AMERICA and she loves his new show HUCKABEE!

She said she was watching John Kasich from Ohio and someone else talking about Barney Frank. She’s really concerned about ACORN and what radical liberals are doing to America.

I found the words to the “Banking Queen” video (by Conservative Political Satirist Paul Shanklin who Rush Limbaugh features on the EIB, Excellence in Broadcasting Network.) and just had to share them.

It's a parody on Barney Frank, who is Chairman of the Banking Committee.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCEF-dNdeXo

Other Paul Shanklin songs featured here: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.paulshanklin.com/images/rosslook.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.paulshanklin.com/aboutpaul.html&usg=__YucUOjWBCkifA1luv88bTOoZhaU=&h=328&w=250&sz=24&hl=en&start=1&tbnid=EbZcE9BNKyu3wM:&tbnh=118&tbnw=90&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dpaul%2Bshanklin%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG

Can't you just picture Barney Frank singing this song?

You can build, You can buy any house your heart desires. Zero down financing, I am the Banking Queen.

Fwiday night and your cash is low. I know a place that you can go. Get your house and use it. Go ahead abuse it. You can do anything.

Go out and have a fwing. I am the Banking Queen. Old and Sweet. Do our thing. Banking Queen. Don’t’ compwain or you’ll hear me scream, oh yeah!

You can build, You can buy any house your heart desires. OOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Zero Down Financing. I am the Banking Queen.

Told the bankers, Hey you guys, make the loans or you’ll be fined. My friends at Fannie sure need it, do it my way or beat it, while the stock’s crashing.

That doesn’t mean a thing. I’m still the Banking Queen, Never explain a single thing. Banking Queen, Don’t Complain, or you’ll hear me scream – Oh, Yeah!

You can build, You can buy, any house your heart desires, OOOOOOOOOOOO, Zero Down, Financing, I am the Banking Queen. I am the Banking Queen.

Happy Jesus Birthday week, everyone! Might as well celebrate the whole week and the whole month for that matter!

I finally figured it out. The reason D.C. loves the IncomeTax so much is so that Baptist Senator Chuck Grassley can help the ACLU persecute Pastors and Christians who speak out about morality and the Bible (including Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Joyce Meyer, Paula White, Eddie Long, and Creflo Dollar.

Must be nice for that young associate junior attorney who is our president-elect to be in sunny Hawaii surfing and living the high life away from the suffering stateside citizens who are dealing with all this wintry snowy weather.

Maybe Obama will invite us all on a two-week winter holiday with him and his family with all that extra tax money they are planning to bilk us taxpayers out of to "boost the economy."

Sorry if I sound cynical; I just get nervous any time I hear Uncle Sam calculating how he can go on another wasteful Spending Spree.

Since we are talking about ancestry, my mother's maternal grandfather was from Slovakia and her dad's family is from England. On my father's side, well it's Cherokee, Dutch Irish and English so I guess I'm a Heinz 57. My wife's family on both sides is from Germany (Kohlenberger and Comnick).
America is truely a melting pot but all my ancestors came to America to be an American. The ones from Slovakia came through Ellis Island and were registered as US Citizens. They struggled to learn English, got jobs and even served in the military. All of them paid taxes and none of them were on welfare. And people don't understand why I get upset when illegal immagrants come into this country, refuse to learn English and get government money and free healthcare.

Steve Goff: We are equal parts Viking. My father was a pure-bred Norwegian mid-western farm boy, but my mother was, as she said, "European mongrel". Part English, Scottish, and German, with roots in this country more than 100 years before my father's ancestors arrived in the mid to late 1800s. My mother was a direct descendant of Wade Hampton, Civil War general and governor of North Carolina, but all us kids ever heard about growing up was how Norwegian we were!

Thank you Doug for sharing about President Elect Obama swearing in on Lincolns Bible. It gives me hope that he will follow Lincolns lead to end Slavery for all Americans.

He has to date been one of the biggest promoters of giving women the RIGHT TO OWN another Human Being, their Preborn Children, to do whatever they wish with them, even having them executed and thrown in the trash.

Throughout history, there has been a people group considered Non-Human, whether race, culture, class, gender, religion or age. Unfortunately today, in a society that considers itself superior, we have again become barbarians and overwhelmingly elected Representatives who promise to lead America in advancing Slavery of the smallest of us throughout the world.

BUT we can pray, May the Spirit of the Lord, where there is Freedom, come upon President Obama as he lays his hand on God's word. Eliminating slavery was Abraham Lincolns greatest legacy at a tremendous cost. May Barack Obama accomplish the same.

Sweet land of Liberty, Let Freedom Ring!

    Merry Christmas everyone!

    ASTOUNDING!!!

Obama to Be Sworn in With Lincoln Bible
President-elect Barack Obama will take the oath of office over the same Bible President Lincoln used at his first inauguration in 1861.
The similarities between President-elect Barack Obama and Abraham Lincoln will be on full display on Inauguration Day when Obama takes the oath of office using the same Bible used to swear in Lincoln.
Obama will be the first president sworn in using the Lincoln Bible since its initial use in 1861. The Bible is part of the collections of the Library of Congress.
"President-elect Obama is deeply honored that the Library of Congress has made the Lincoln Bible available for use during his swearing-in," Presidential Inaugural Committee Executive Director Emmett Beliveau said in a written statement.
"The president-elect is committed to holding an inauguration that celebrates America's unity, and the use of this historic Bible will provide a powerful connection to our common past and common heritage," he said.
There is no constitutional requirement to use a Bible during the swearing-in. Presidents have traditionally used Bibles for the ceremony, choosing a volume with personal or historical significance.
Supreme Court clerk William Thomas Carroll originally purchased the Lincoln Bible for use during Lincoln's swearing-in ceremony on March 4, 1861. The Bible is bound in burgundy velvet with a gold-washed white metal rim around the three outside edges of both covers. All its edges are heavily gilded. The 1,280-page Bible was published in 1853 by the Oxford University Press.
Obama has gone to great lengths to note his admiration for Lincoln, who, like Obama, was an Illinois lawmaker before becoming president of the United States.

    Dr. D:

    HO HO HO

Thank you, and thanks for responding. Sometimes a little acknowledgment can be the most soothing medicine in the world; especially for those of us with an overbloated sense of self importance (ie, me.)

Our Founding Fathers were on different pages in regard to political philosophy, hence the founding of the Federalist and Democrat-Rebublican Party. Not to say that we are of worthy of comparison between Jefferson/Madison and Washington/Adams, but the comparison was displayed simply in this: The two schools of thought shared one comment element--they were steeped in principles that helped to shape the moral fiber of our nation into the most free and just society in the existence of the world.

In like manner the binding element between you and I is the Chrisitan principle that shapes the core of our beliefs.

On a lighter note, my father has given me some interesting information in regard to my heritage. According to him, Goff is a Welsh name, which actually means "red" or "ruddy." Interestingly enough, this would actually fit in with my overall appearance. A secondary translation (of the English derivitive) would be "blacksmith." Now, considering that the Welsh were introduced into the Irish cultre through English rule, and a significant portion of the Icelanders were a combination of Irish and Norse descent, it would seem that there is a common link in regard to our ancestry (at least on my father's side.) So you see, it appears that I like you, am indeed a Viking. (Ok, not technically but I can always dream.)

So from one Viking to another:

Just about 90 percent of our citizens had to just those toll bridge to go to work. You can well imagine the celebration when they came down. Can we get Gov. Huckabee and Gov. Palin to get all the states to get rid of all toll roads?

    Isn't this the U.S. of A?

    Don't we pay enough taxes?

I lived in Florida one winter and had to use the toll roads a few times.

    Thomas Roper,

Thank you for sharing that wonderful verse from Isaiah, and it is so reassuring to know that we who know Christ can rest in the fact that we are redeemed from the hand of the enemy. It is especially comforting to be aware of this in these times of uncertainty.

Another wonderful verse of assurance is one found in Habakkuk 3:17-18 that Ms Obvious, Jill, and I have often shared in our on-line prayer time:

"Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls; Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation."

Again, thank you for sharing your devotion with us. Now I feel that I have also had mine.

    Merry Christmas....Maxine

I read this in my devotion this morning...
Isa:51:7: Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.
Isaiah:51:8: For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.
    After reading of that this thought came to my mind Psalms:107:2: Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
Have you had you devotion today?

We listen to your TV show whenever possible.

We think that any effort to cover the possible
17 % of families that do not have coverage is
affordable. Especially, when the veterans of
WWII, The Korean War and now the Vietnam
War have less coverage under Medicare than
anyone working. I spent some 30 years selling and servicing large group health plans in CA(One group had 70,000 full time employee) with 21 unions.

Questions any running for office should consider.

    1. Of the 150,000,00 or more workers, how many do not pay into the Soc. Sec. System?
    2. Look at the Medicare Hand Book. Look
for the 2009 deductible. Everything has gone
up in cost, medical care, cars, homes, and
wages since the advent of Medicare. This
    year's deductible increased 35% since 1966.
Look at the means test by income. It is a total joke.

In addition, does any political subdivision have a first day in the hospital deductible of
$1,068.? How many uncovered as opposed to
how many veterans of 3 major wars who in addtion have no coverage for outpatient
prescriptions or any coverage at all when
traveling outside the U.S. So they pay up to
$200 a month more than the cost of Medicare to have this coverage. And the
government wants to overhaul a system that
is currently frought with fraud and allows but
60% of what is now considered UCR by a group health plan. Hope to be part of your
effort to be President and hope sincerely that Sarah is on your ticket.

I can't wait to do a Power Point presentation
    on this subject.

There are some things that we believe that we have to take unwavering stand on such as the virgin birth of Christ, the Diety of God, the sacrificial death of Christ on the cross and so on. There are other issues that we need to teach but has nothing to do with salvation such as what you wear and what you do with your body though some things you will face the consequences such as smoking cause cancer and death.
Then there are some things which are not. I prefer dresses and long hair on ladies and short hair on men. Piercings and tatoos should not be on a christians' body. Women are an active part of the Lord's Work but I don't think they should take roles of leaderhip that would put them in spiritual authority over a man. The later are personal convictions which I cannot mandate on others but the former are mandates from scripture and the sole source of salvation.
Visit the church website that I mantain. www.mbcjax.com and click on "About Us" and then "Beliefs". On the same webpage there is a link to the plan of salvation.

Steve Goff 12/20 2:35 pm: Your self-description was very endearing. As for me, everyone who grows to be big remembers well when he was the little guy. But we also know that it is what is inside of a man that really counts, and I am very glad to see that we are on the same page regarding the current moral, economic, and political situation in this country.

Thanks for all the encouraging words Thomas, Ben, Jack and Lola.

Sometimes a person feels as they are alone in teaching morals and no one appreciates standing up for good, but your comments help me to realize that following God's will has its own reward from God eventually and peace in our hearts today.

To Ann: No, I don't believe that it is legalistic not to wear tatoos. God calls us to live holy lives.

While I realize this calls for discretion, and that there is great leeway as it is acceptable to wear swimming suits that would certainly not have been allowed by anyone 100 years ago, the Bible clearly states that tattos are a no no for God's chosen and his faithful.

"You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead nor print or tattoo any marks upon you; I am the Lord." (Leviticus 19:28) (Amplified Bible)

    or

Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.(Leviticus 19:28) (King James Version)

As far as the jewelry comment, I've heard Benny Hinn ask young men to take earrings out of their ears.

I think his reasoning is that for men to wear earrings represents pagan religions and makes it look like believers are following pagan gods. I believe that Pastor Hinn is asking new believers to make a statement that they are following Jesus rather than the ancient Greek gods.

I've heard other pastors preach this also, but some churches wait for a few months and discuss purity and holiness as it pertains to personal decorum in small home groups.

My best friend has a problem with wearing blue jeans and remembers when pastors preached against women wearing makeup.

I grew up in a Presbyterian Church where one of the 80-year-old women elders colored her hair a bright amber red, grew up wearing pedal pushers (mid-calf length flowered slacks) and blue jeans. As long as the belly is covered up, I don't have a problem with that.

My best friend can't understand why Christians wear halter tops to church or tops that show skin between their blouse and their jeans.

I think there is a scripture about the older women teaching the younger women and I would think that would also apply to the older men teaching the younger men.

I've never seen the church police stop people at the church door (LOL!) but I imagine that Cedarville College (OH) and other colleges have stringent dress codes that they strongly enforce!

Wouldn't it be great if all colleges were still Christian colleges like in the 1800s with daily devotions and required chapel and separate girls dorms and separate guys dorms and alcohol was banned on campus?

    Those were the days!
