First, thanks for turning out the calls for Senator Chambliss. This is a critical election for the nation to keep the Senate from becoming Harry Reid’s rubber stamp to Nancy Pelosi’s nonsense. Let’s go full throttle!
I’m sending this from the bus we’re on as we travel across the nation signing copies of “Do the Right Thing” in bookstores around the land. We’ll
hit 56 cities in 2 ½ weeks before it’s over and wish we could do more. The crowds have been great everywhere. In Tulsa Saturday morning, people were in line at 5am for the store opening at 7am. The only regret is that we have to keep the lines moving to accommodate everyone and that doesn’t leave time for more than a handshake and signature and not for the kind of personal visiting I’d love to do. Still, I am thrilled to meet former
Rangers, Huck’s Army folks, strong supporters from the past, and so many people who never miss the show on Fox News Channel.
I hope you’ll read the book and let me know what you think. One of the reasons I’m hoping this book will do well and hit the bestseller list is
that it will be a strong response to the kind of people who think “our kind” of conservative who supports the sanctity of life, traditional marriage, the
2nd amendment, and the Fair Tax should go away. It will give oxygen to the fire we hope to stoke to say the conservative movement is not dead---just badly injured by people who have led us astray by being squishy on principle and silly on things like wanting to use your paycheck to bailout big
companies that mismanaged their assets.
The schedule is grueling, but I’m having a blast seeing so many wonderful Americans who remind me why I love this country! I hope to see you
somewhere along the way, but in the meantime, I trust you and your friends and family will enjoy getting acquainted with how to “DO THE RIGHT THING.”
Miles and miles to go,
Mike Huckabee

Doctor David,
Thank you. I didn't mean to get on a soap box but it's sad' that there are those in the news media that don't seem to understand that. I've found it to be the same as you.For those who wonder why those on Fox, Rush, and etc. didn't support Gov. Huckabee I think it's because he is an Evangelical. I think it threw them when Palin said she went to a Nondenominational Church. Most Nondenominational Churches that I know are Evangelical. I don't think they know that. In the beginning what they call an Evangelical is what made a Protestant and Protestant.
I personally liked the idea that he is a Evangelical Preacher. From what I've read he wouldn't be our first President that was a Preacher. I may be wrong but it seems I heard David Barton say something like that. It's probably hard for the Catholic's to understand because their Priests work right in the Church we have Preachers working in most walks of life unless they have a large enough church that it takes their full time and can aford to pay them a good salary.
God bless and protect America!

HAPPY AND SAFE THANKSGIVING EVERYONE
It looks like the comments have really picked up on Huckpac. Reading the comments have been encouraging, especially the way we have been making references to comments of others. The communication lines are becoming more interactive, which I think is very good.
I noticed several comments about talk show hosts and columnists who continually push for Romney. I have never understood their way of thinking. I always heard there was not a good Conservative running in the primaries and they would reference the Heritage Foundation and the RNC. Since the Primaries I have seen where some in the Heritage foundation admitted they were wrong about Gov. Huckabee and admitted they did not give him the credit he was due. I am not going to hold my breathe waiting for Ann Coulter or Rush Limbaugh to give even some credit to Gov. Huckabee. All I had to do was read the issues statements on the Huckabee web site, listen to the debates, and all the other sources of input.
I am a strong supporter of the Fair Tax and believe it would be a step in the right direction for our economy and promoting productivity. I do not understand why the big Corporations are not out there promoting the Fair Tax. If we had the Fair Tax we would no longer have to worry about tax loop holes or the people that actively cheat the current tax system. I like what Gov. Huckabee says about the worker who needs a second job to help his daughter pay for school. With the Fair Tax there would be no need of a higher tax bracket and all money earned in the second job could go toward the daughter's schooling. There are too many pluses with The Fair Tax. There are too many negatives with our current tax system to even think about keeping part of it. I would take the Fair Tax over the Federal Income Tax any day.
I am attempting to understand this convoluted bail out and where it is going. I watched the segment by 60 Minutes which gave some history / explanation of Credit Default Swaps and the reference to S.2697 The Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000 (passed in an agricultural bill in lameduck session July of 2000). It appears this opened up the flood gate to make Wall Street more like Las Vegas gambling, but with out any limits or accountability. I really would think the Act should be killed immediately and investigate why the fix that was put inplace to prevent a disaster to the economy was reversed with the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000. What do you on Huckpac think about this?

Trickle Up or Trickle Down?
I just want to say I'm not knocking on anyone who believes in trickle up prosperity because just looking at it I understand why so many believe it would work, however if you look through it, then you will see why it doesn't, First I am a believer in the Word, The Book says money not earned will flow through your hands like water and this is true to this very day, its a fact that if you give someone something they will not take care of it like they would if they had to work for it and if you let someone use something they will not take care of it like they would if they own it, just ask a landlord.
*Here is Trickle down prosperity, a village of a hundred give the most responsible wise man 100 ears of corn to plant fields and by paying the other villagers to work the gardens they can buy the corn to eat and this ultimately ends up feeding the whole village year after year.
*Tickle up or spread the wealth would be distributing the 100 ears of corn to one hundred people (1 each) The lazy and irresponsible would just eat the one ear of corn and wait for the next hand out, but for the truly wise and responsible what's one ear of corn going to do, it will not grow a large enough crop to feed on for a year and it will not give you enough extra for replanting any larger crop then before so really you stay poor, starve and barely making it.
***Every wonder why God lifts up the water from the seas and into the air and lets it go, Its because all of water's benefits are gained on its long downward return to the sea.

thank you all for your response. we just need another way to deal with this crisis and i wondered if anyone else had their own thoughts on betters solutions. and i wanted feed back on my take on a solution of each taxpayer get a sizable stimulus check from the taxpayer bailout monies. getting the job done with 300 Million (give or take) instead of the Trillions our government is handing out to, well you know who. checks sizable enough to 'STIMULATE' the economy with our 'CASH" spending across the nation. thinking of the benefits in all aspects, too many to list.
but checks not in an amount of so much folks would just flat out quit their jobs, (unless their age, needs to retire). i called Saxby Chambliss # listed on contact pg. on website and offered my ''idea'' and the man said that it sounded interesting and would pass it on. *oh well* what ever he was thinking when he said that. most likely thinking 'another nut'!TOGETHER WE STAND...can i correct 1 tiny thing you wrote? ....'with our currant tax system the negatives out way the positives.' POSITIVES???? LOL ain't none! all negatives!..hehehe
so sad the breaking news of this day.

Our country was founded on farmers and small family businesses and cottage industries of people who were willing to work with their hands.
We need the FairTax to save the economy. I don't think we can spend out way out of the economic mess we're in.
The only vehicle big enough to grow the economy is the FairTax. It's also the only thing that won't crush families.
It is outrageous that older people are required to work when there is no reasonable work for them.
I've heard that many baby boomers are moving their parents in with them because they can't afford nursing home care and they have decided they want to take care of their families properly.
Their parents are really appreciating it, and one elderly gentlemen didn't think he could have survived without his family.
These stories really touch my heart. Farm families have been taking care of their own for years. There is a lot we can learn from traditional farm families. :)
I got my HuckPAC sticker today. And a really sweet Christmas card from Jaimie & Lisa DeLaCruz with a business card for the U.S. Federal Human Life Amendment.

Lola Mathuews 11/26 2008: I just wanted to agree with you. Educational credentials are no substitute for life experience, and common sense IS the key. I do have an advanced degree, and I can assure you that those with whom I work are no different from my friends with less formal education, except in their area of specialized knowledge. Believe me, when a surgeon has to call in a plumber or an electrician for a problem in his home, he has great respect for the knowledge and skill he does not have. So my view is that we are all smart, only in different ways.

Ben Dribus - agreed..... forgive for the good of our own souls .... but of course it doesn't necessarily mean to get back in line for another round of left-overs. It did not taste too good the first time. ..... yuk !!
nick hankland - I think you are right about Palin and Jindal also getting in line which could slow down the Mitt-gang. I do like Palin and Jindal as well. But not sure that either will be able to come close to Mike Huckabee's broad appeal with Democrats, moderates, the African-American race and as well perhaps Hispanics.I guess the Gov. will know what to do when the time draws closer. If anyone could make a third party successful, I believe that it would be him. However, splitting the vote with a Palin for instance may just insure another demo win. I do believe that Huckabee could win the Republican primary. He is doing "all the right things" it seems to help put himself in the right position for a win. He has such favor with a vast number of people ..... watching his show "Huckabee" .. will tell you that!

walker,carol,
I didn't see your post until I had posted. I think common sense is the key. It doesn't come with college degrees. We are living in a time that if you don't have a college degree you are stupid. Don't get me wrong I'm not putting down college degrees but that doesn't make you stupid if you don't have one. That makes as much since as a Doctor thinking a Lawyer isn't intelligent because he doesn't know how to Doctor. If we were all Chiefs then who would the indians. But then where would the Chiefs be without the indians. Right?
I believe people working is what makes a sound economy. Also they keep talking about the people who are suppose to be retiring are going to have to keep working. What makes them think their employers are going to give them work. And if they don't retire then what are the young people coming out of school going to work at. Now they may have degrees but they don't seem to be considering any of this. How about block layers, and other hard jobs, do they really think they're going to be able to lay block steady after retirement age? They would probably say well they are just going to have to work at something else. What? Do they really think that in a economy with high unemployment they are going to hire elderly over the younger workers? Even Wal Mart only hires so many elderly people.
They might be surprized what would happen if that money was going to the people. I know a man that had his own cable company and only completed the eigth grade.
Just my opinion.
God bless and protect America!

As for the "Christain" leaders and their lack of support for him: "they didn't think he could win." They wanted to be on the winning team. They waffled around so much that when all was said and done they just looked like fools in the eyes of so many.

I seen some discussion about the Fair Tax and the possible unseen affects from it.
I don't know, the Fair Tax looks pretty solid to me over all, The main weaknesses that I do see is on cars and houses, lets say a car manufacture builds cars and then rents them out for a year then sells them as used, This would probably happen with houses also. Maybe they already have a fix for this as I have not read the whole thing. If not I think they ether have to clearly say that a renter is the owner and is responsible for the retail tax no mater if they sell it are not or tax all cars and houses new or used at 10% since a car and home will probably be sold 3 time during its life however a cars value will go down every time its sold but a homes should go up so this evens it out.
The main benefit on the fair tax that I see has not even been mentioned. The Fair tax will give our Gov. a control valve for the economy, more like a nitro button. Lets say that something major happen like 9-11 where everyone sets around watching TV on what's going on and does not feel like shopping, after allowing everyone a few weeks to greave then our Gov. could get the economy up and running again by giving a tax free week, this would cause the stores to be packed like at Christmas time, No need on waiting Months to send out Stimulus checks, Be like every thing on sale. Really if you think about it, if we had the fair tax right now and they did that they would be no need in Bail outs, Economy would be up and running next week.
Thing about it though is any negatives to the Fair tax is out weighed largely by the positives where with our currant tax system the negatives out way the positives. so any thing bad that may come up from the fair tax would be small if measured up by the good. Now all this is assuming that its passed into law in its currant form, you never know what changes lawmakers will make to it, that's why I like the idea of the States getting together and passing it over Congresses head. -

Do any of you know what our government is putting up as collateral to borrow this money from China. When we borrow money and aren't able to pay it back the bank takes the collateral on the loan. If that happens they usually don't sell that collateral for full price. Usually they even tear it up so they can't get as much out of it. And we are still responsible for the remaining amount owed on the loan. Now what I'd like to know is what happens if we can't pay back this debt to China? Are the rules different for Nations? An economy based on credit sure doesn't sound very solid. No wonder prices are so high for the working man it's based on credit. We don't even know if the money is being spent on what they say. Are there any checks and balances? Also monopoly use to be against the law. AIG sure sounds like a monopoly. It's dangerous for any company to become like AIG for the very reasons we are seeing now. It affects our security and sovereignty.
Russia is now saying we are done for. I hear they aren't doing so good their self. Who knows they don't tell us anything until they just have too.

Ben Dribus - I can really visualize Hannity, Beck, Ingraham, Coulter, Rush, etc ......... ALL once again lining up on the side of
"Mitt Waum-ney" if he is in the run for 2012 again...... I, like others ..... am not sure that they have learned anything from this previous election. About Pat Robertson ..... well, that one really threw me for a loop! I, being a 700 member for as long as I can remember and also a former phone counsellor ..... I was shocked out of my boots hearing of the Rudy endorsement. All I could say was "What about the babies !!" I called and emailed cbn about it as well ...... I was shocked that most of all the evangelical leaders .... could not see in Huckabee ... what we all see in the man and even the democrats saw in him.
Yes ..... as Doctor David said yesterday; "We saw in him a respect for the truth"In order for God's prophecies to be filled, perhaps all of these Christian leaders were so blinded in order for the fulfillment of God's prophecy ? ....... No one but Huckabee could have taken B.O. down ..... the msm all knew he was a threat .... so succeeded in their weapons against him from the onset to bring him down. ..... The Christian community of leaders ... were so disappointing ..... think that they will ever admit to it ? ..... No one but Paul Weyrich, that I know of. Like a good Christian ..... I think they should admit to it .... and practice what they are telling and teaching us to do. But, I know I have to forgive them as I have been forgiven. Just a little hard at times ..... this is NO little thing.

nick hankland - I can agree with everything you said. Life has taught me to be pretty cynical. I am sure one can be too cynical and never trusting anyone. But the Word of God warns us about "wolves in sheep's clothing" ..... also "be wise as serpents and harmless as doves" ...... Once you have found an area of distrust in someone, it can be hard for them to win back your confidence and trust in them again......... also "by their fruits, ye shall know them" ....... once burnt - twice shy.
That was a very good analogy or comparison that you used relating the story in the jungleI guess we can just pray that God will open their eyes.

Great post, I feel the same way you do, however I personally do not altogether believe in trick up wealth or maybe I should say I don't believe it is as effective as trickle down. Its true money has to go up but it also has to come down through jobs, The stimulus checks they sent out in the spring did nothing to help the economy and that was trickle up.
I am also like you and everyone else in being totally against the bail outs, I truly believe that the amount of Capitol that we have lost to other nations has caused us not to have enough currency flow here in the US, I believe the right thing that should have been done is to let some of the banks be eaten up by others. Due to the lack of US capital over all, we now have to many banks I mean what's better, to have a thousand safes with a dollar in each one or one safe with a thousand dollars in it, I just think the weaker ones really should have been let go because it would have automatically strengthen the remaining ones and to be honest I still believe they will continue to struggle and be a bottomless pit until they realize this. I really think we need to lose 2/8-1/4 of banks and their business be turned over to the remaining ones. Anyway their answer to this is loan banks money so people can borrow even more and borrow our way out of this mess but yet borrowing got us into this mess, who wants to borrow now or who can borrow now, but then I try and tell myself maybe they know something I don't because surly they can't be that stupid, it leaves me scratching my head. Now the Auto industry is tricky and totally different, believe it or not Autos and auto parts are in the top three list of exports meaning that this is responsible for capturing and bring back a large amount of capital to The US, so without the auto industry we would lose even more capital flow and eventually go totally broke as a whole meaning more job losses more banks going under, stores closing up, even more people starving on and on.
But I do not think a Bail out is the answer because money given or loaned out is not took care like money earned is. First I think the Auto industry
needs to look within and shed some more of their cost and the workers should agree to a pay cut during this slow time (I know, but they should) But if it comes down to having to do something to help them, I think the most effective way is to maybe go ahead and replace Government cars, so im saying buy a few billion dollars worth from each, under a condition that they are fuel efficient and I mean as efficient as they can get them, I might go as far as requiring at lest 75% of the parts on the cars be made right here in the USA. By doing it like this they have to earn it and we end up paying for something that is actually something instead of just handing it out for nothing, plus all the replaced Gov. cars can be sold to recoup some of the money and the new efficiency cars should save fuel/ tax money in the long run so the total Billions in cost want be quit as bad. but it also helped save jobs and part supply jobs and probably would create jobs and through the jobs workers get paid and spend at stores buying other produces including cars creating more jobs and more tax payers and helping the economy.
The main thing though is they have to be able to compete with imports in price and quality and also compete globally and just not them but all of our American made Goods. That's why I like the Fair Tax, we have got to be able to compete and earn more Capital back world wide because if flow out continues to be greater then flow in then the pond will dry up, If you know what I mean! -

Since we're all in agreement that Huck will have NO future help from the "celebrity conservatives" in the talk/TV venues, why not just ask Huck whether he'd be open to running in 2012 on his own party ticket. Sean,You really should apologize to Gov. Mike Huckabee for lying about him on the air during the Primaries.
You said on live TV that Gov. Huckabee had dropped out of the Florida Primaries, when that was false.
Gov. Rick Perry even had the audacity to call Gov. Huckabee and ask him to drop out right before Texas and Ohio voted.
I'm even disappointed that both Ann Coulter (who I have met twice and adore) and Laura Ingraham (who I highly respect and heard speak at the Dayton Right to Life fundraiser on Sept. 14 and who wrote a great book, Power to the People) both backed J.D. Romney.
I don't mind you having your opinion, but pushing someone just because they have a law degree, even though they cater to the homosexual crowd and turned on the pro-life rhetoric a couple years before they ran for President just doesn't cut it with conservative Christians.
You, Sean, and Laura and Ann keep telling us you are conservative Christians and you promote our values, yet you ask us to compromise our faith to back you in supporting a candidate who is in league with Wall Street and who busts up businesess to keep the economy sound.
Americans are fed up with Wall Street bailouts. We want a balanced federal budget like all 50 states have and like our family has to live with.
We're tired of hearing that Romney's Clear Channel and Bain Capital connections have bought your bosses out which makes it sound like you're all in the tank for your boss (even Rush Limbaugh has abandoned his audience on this one).
The way you all treated Mike Huckabee during the Primaries was criminal. Romney smeared Huckabee and McCain without finding out the facts and led vicious negative campaign ads that were patently false. Most of the attacks against Huckabee should have been leveled against the Clinton felon, Jim Guy Tucker, who was in office in Arkansas before Huckabee.
Having said all that, your candidate, Romney, couldn't even buy his way into the White House with all his millions, and Huckabee nearly pulled off a victory in South Carolina that surely would have given him the momentum to win Texas and Ohio and carry the nomination.
You never acknowledged the millions of grassroots supporters on MikeHuckabee.com, people from all over the country who supported Gov. Huckabee because he was the only one who was truly conservative and who was popular with both the Democrats and Republicans alike in Arkansas.
You should read Gov. Huckabee's book, Do the Right Thing, watch HUCKABEE's show on FoxNews and see why the common people and homeschoolers all across this great nation love Gov. Huckabee, and please apologize on the air to our dear Governor.
We'll be watching all across America to see if you continue to back the special interests or if you Do the Right Thing.

Many interesting comments have been made in rference to the Glen Beck story and his testimony of being radically transformed in receiving Jesus Christ as his savior.
I am reminded of the blind man who was healed by Jesus that replied to the doubters of his day that he did not know anything about who had healed him, but one thing he did know as he stated, "I once was blind, but now I see."
Many have come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ without knowing anything about theological beliefs, but like the blind man who was healed, they can testify that they too was blind--now they see.

Carol,
Like you, I am appalled that this so called bailout is nothing more than a bank heist of taxpayers money that continues to grow worse with each of Paulson's moves. The Bush administration along with other Wall Street backed politicians have opened the vaults to our treasury and privatized it's contents.
I am tired of the diversionary tactics politicians use to divide us, while these Wall Street front men and women, we call Democrats or Republicans, drive the vehicle to rob us all. People like Limbaugh or Hannity are on the same payroll as all these other thieves and until we wise up that "right" and "left" are meaningless diversionary terms to fight each other and keep our eyes away from what is really happening, we'll keep getting robbed! Mike was unpopular with these Wall Street neo-cons because he was a populist, which is why Sarah Palin's acceptance from this group would make me very nervous about her ethics.

Re: A. Jill, Doctor David, Mike Will Unite, etc.
On the subject of Glen Beck, Pat Robertson, Hannity, Ingraham, Coulter, Rush, Gary Bauer, etc.
I think we should be very careful to distinguish between those who genuinely disagree with us and support other candidates for honest and overt reasons, and those who function as ideological parasites, paying lip service to our positions while working for the opposite side behind the scenes.
The reason I say this is because I detest the politics of branding and demonizing people who disagree with us. Part of what drew me to Mike Huckabee was his concept of “vertical politics,” emphasizing what was right about his own ideas rather than what was wrong with his opponents.
However, in my opinion vertical politics only applies to honest and forthcoming players in the political arena, just as international rules protecting prisoners of war only apply to lawful combatants, not terrorists, pirates, and the like. We are under no obligation to tolerate cultural impostors who make millions of dollars by exploiting the convictions of honest but ignorant citizens while secretly undermining their interests and working to deny them effective participation in the democratic process.
Sean Hannity, for instance, is an evil man. I say this not because he supported another candidate, but because he is a liar, master of propaganda, and coward par excellence. The tactics he used during the primary and the obvious conflicts of interest that motivated him would reduce him to the moral level of Yersinia pestis regardless of whom he was for or against.
Sadly, the other prominent “conservatives” I named above are all similarly guilty in varying degrees. Glen Beck responded to the misrepresentation of Mike Huckabee’s question about the Mormon doctrine that Jesus and the Devil are spirit brothers by comparing Mike Huckabee to the Devil. I guess in the view of Beck’s religion this technically makes Mike a brother of Christ, a position with which Christian doctrine in some sense agrees (sarcasm intended). However, Mike has actually succeeded in emulating the only Perfect Man in a somewhat different sense: he came unto his own and his own received him not.
I have seen several posts on this site over the last few months suggesting that certain of these usual suspects are “warming up to Mike,” or “coming around.” This is utterly false. It is wishful but foolish thinking by good people who are accustomed to forgiving others and letting bygones be bygones. Thank goodness none of these well-meaning folks are in charge of the prison system!
For the record:
Glen Beck has contempt for Christian conservatives and would follow Mitt Romney to the gates of hell.
Pat Robertson betrayed the millions of Christian conservatives who gave him millions of dollars to listen to his millions of words. He endorsed a candidate (Giuliani) who supported federal funding of partial-birth abortion, the most sickening practice in this country. Bauer similarly sold out his long-time supporters.
Sean Hannity is an ideological parasite extrordinaire.
Laura Ingraham is a Romney girl. She's been aware of his 50-dollar abortions and gay marriage licenses all along. No matter how many times he changes color, she sees only the color green. This will not change until they print dollar bills with a different color of ink.
Coulter is worse. She actually said the words, “Romney, Romney, Romney!” on FNC.
Rush got a new eight-figure (!) contract right after the primaries. I wonder why?
Notice that I did not include Bill O'Reilly on this list. He is against Mike Huckabee, and even made a bet with Dick Morris that Huckabee would never reach 10% in the polls. But he has been fair to him on his program, and hasn't constantly lied about him and stabbed him in the back. Honest adversaries I can tolerate.
Some have suggested not watching or listening to any of the above offenders and this is a noble sentiment. Personally, I listen to them occasionally, but only to see what the enemy is planning. I listen to their shows with the same attitude with which I read the Screwtape Letters.

So what are YOU going to do now? I’ve read like you have all of the blog and discussions here about how we as a party need to get back to our core values, back to the party of Regan. But what does that mean to you? What are you going to do to help achieve those goals?
If you’re like me this election awoke me to the reality of the political landscape and I didn’t like what I saw. I mean I’ve heard about ‘liberal media’ and ‘tax and spend liberals’; but never really got it….until now.
So what do you feel called to do?
For me I started a blog, joined and donated to HuckPac, I have gone back to school to study Political Science, which is way outside to norm of my IT job. I’ve begun to attend our city council meetings and our county GOP meetings, and vow to make a difference any way I can.
What about you?

I have a quick comment about the post from
A, Jill
11/25/2008 01:39 PMThe Christian faith revolves around the existence of one man, Christ. What you believe about Christ decides where you go when you die. Search the Bible and see what it says. There was only one Jesus. Many different religions believe Jesus to be somebody that He is not. Jesus was not postmodern. He did not believe that every one had their own truth. He said that He was the truth. If you believe wrong (in the wrong "truth") you will not be rewarded for your testimony or your devotion.
Let's say there was a group of people slashing through the jungle. They had machetes and where working very hard, with great focus and devotion. Somebody in the back looked at their compass and discovered that the group was headed in the wrong direction. They were fervently headed in the opposite direction of their goal. The individual yelled out the news to the rest of the group. They yelled back, "be quiet we are making great progress." This group had a great testimony of working together and it looked like they were making great progress.
Remember that testimony is not conclusive. Just because something seems to be working doesn't mean that it is right. The group was very successful at slashing a trail through the jungle but in the end never made it to their goal. If they had listened to the man with the compass they would have succeeded. Our compass is the Bible. At the end of the Bible it is written that there should be noting added or taken away. No new "revelation." Many religions use the Bible but also have other writings that they consider equal in authority.
Check the Scriptures carefully before you accept something. Just because it looks good doesn’t mean that it is good.
Best regards,
Nick -

governor, first I appreciate all you are doing. I signed up for the phone calls, and am comitted to making 20 calls per day. I have a question & a favor to ask. Favor first, I called my 20 yesterday, and one older woman answered the phone. I told her who I was, and she started sobbing-which shocked me. Her husband had been in politics all his life and she had buried him the day before. Could you call her? I don't want to put her name or number here, but if one of your "peeps" could email me, I will give you her name. Then my Q can you briefly explain why the main stream media-including the far right and Rush are not covering the many law suits about Mr Obama? THNX

I agree hankland, nick!
Being just 2/3 of the way through Huck's new book (SO awesome, don't you all agree?!?), I am reminded of all that Hannity, Rush, Ingraham, and Beck did to ruin Mike's chances of becoming our nominee. They single-handedly undermined the process and reported lies (i.e. in Florida..."Mike Huckabee has dropped out of the race" - NOT!), just so they could get a seat at King Saul's table. I also agree with what Mike says in his book about Gary Bauer. I wrote to Bauer after the primaries, asking him to remove me from his email list and letting him know how very disappointed I was in him.
If Mike decides to run in 2012 (I pray he does, if God leads him to), his biggest fight is not going to be Willard Mitchell Romney himself. Romney can destroy himself very easily on his own. The biggest fight is going to be against Rush, Hannity, Ingraham, Beck, and Bauer. These are the money hungry conservatives who spit in the eye of those of us who care about fiscal AND social conservatism.
Mike is right...the GOP needs a COMPLETE overhaul! And that process beings now and it begins with US.
Keep fighting the good fight. Fight for Truth!

11/25/2008 04:44 PMCarol,
You are very smart, and you certainly understand the problem.. I do not know what to do, either... It seems odd to me how fast it has all happened... And, it has had a domino affect with all of them with their hand outs, wanting more....and still going under...
And, they keep giving them more, saying it should fix the problem... They just print more dollar bills... I t seems to be there should be something backing up those bills
And, it may be a time soon when those dollar bills are not worth the paper they are printed on.... So, I wish someone could explain why all this is going on, and why now... all at once ??
My theory is, the end is coming, and the Lord will be here soon... And if not, then the USA is being punished for turning away from God, and we will never be a great nation, again ... Through this election, we have seen just how bad the USA has become..Any candidate that believed in creation, was a total idiot.. It seems to me it would take an idiot to believe in this perfect universe, and all that is involved in making a human life, could have just evolved into being...... totally impossible....

Lola Mathuews,
thanks for noticing my post 11/24/1:43pm. many must have bypassed it for its length. i just figured it would start some heavy chat. i feel a panic inside, not being able to stop the ticking clock nearing kaboom time. from late yesterday, talk is 7.4 TRILLION instead of the 1.4 T! when a tiny 3-400 M could have done the job. i want to know what is wrong w/ the general idea in my prev. post! (yes, Lola, you agreed. i ask others) i want to know how all these bailouts are going to do anything for the economy. fake fix w/ fake $$'s to fake ceo's. (i would be fake if i presented myself as a brain surgeon, with botched surgeries and dead patients) i ask why are we sitting back letting this happen without a huge, deathing roar from the highest peeks of this land! no, we sit back and say not a squeak and let it continue. i have tiny knowledge on the computer, mostly HELPLESS in fact. i was hoping the idea of (US) getting the bailout to put back into all the sectors of business (spread the wealth and build the economy from the bottom up) would be an idea worth others joining in, making voices louder & louder. voices via emails to senators, congress and msm, not having the no-how to do it myself. all i can make of it is its not a viable idea! i now can't wait to see
(for exam) the big 3 get their (pelosi?)75B (up 50B from orig.25B) watch'em keep the jobs producing autos, watch'n-em stack up coming off assembly line while an increasing majority of folks STILL can't buy em. i know! the big 3 can rent the white house lawn and the rose garden to park and stack the back log. meanwhile more & more folks lose jobs, not able to keep homes. bailout to banks to open up credit. credit to who? each other? or for
folks to buy a car (or whatever) who won't qualify for credit w/out jobs & falling scores, duh.....! recon i'm the duh b/c i don't get it. the help i ask for is b/c my voice travels very slow, its took me 1-1/2 hrs to do this post and i haven't sent it yet! i maybe slow and stupid, but i've always relied on common sense. so far its worked pretty well. Doctor David,
Thanks for posting the blog on Huckabee by Justin Cline "Jesus General". I appreciate your blogs since they are usually careful and insightful.
I hope Gov. Huckabee reads the particular article that you posted and considers what the opposition is saying and intending to do. I'm sure that if Gov. Huckabee is led to run for the presidency (personally, I hope he does), that he will, if he hasn't already, take into account how he was opposed by some of the religious leaders, GOP, media, and the left when he ran during the primaries.
I believe if Gov. Huckabee takes the wise and necessary steps now that many in these groups can be countered through careful preparation. I know I am being kind of general, but I believe that those who are in the political battle will understand what I am trying to communicate. One suggestion to counter Justin Cline's effort to paint Gov. Huckabee as a "theocratic, authoritarian, extremist Christian" is to side and associate himself with the Founding Fathers of our Nation. Gov. Huckabee might want to explain and remind the public that the founders were strong, passionate, Christians, yet, at the same time, the very ones that opposed an established church or an established religion. At every chance possible, Gov. Huckabee needs to remind the public that the founders were not in favor of a theocracy or an authoritarian dictatorship, and provided a system of checks and balances to protect against extremism and that that is were he as a Christian stands with John Adams (a devout Christian), Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and the other founders. It then would be more difficult for the media and others to wrongly label him as a religious extremist like some previously mentioned would like to do so. I believe it is a strategy that is sincere and difficult to counter if one prepares, and one were Gov. Huckabee would in no way forsake his principles. Again, in my opinion, this is a simple yet effective method that will need to be hammered away at the opposition and independents so that they will see Huckabee a strong Christian man associated with our Founding Fathers whom many were strong Christians yet opposed to tyranny or any form of extremism. If any one can add to what I said or correct me in some area, I am open to suggestions.

Jill A: You and I saw the same thing in Mike: a respect for the truth that elevated him above most politicians. We can always hope that Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck will develop that same quality over time. I suppose that is why we keep going back to them, and checking to see what they have to say. So far, I don't see the change. But you are so right, it is not for us to judge, lest we be judged.

Doctor David - I know what you are saying and I remember it vividly when he did this. But also Sean Hannity also was guilty of the same with Huckabee and many of us are now watching him.
I know he is a Mormon. Much of what he had to say today was about his wayward past and his testimony of what happened to him and how he turned his life around. It was just pretty compelling as he was on the brink of totally giving up on life at a very young age. It has a lot to do with his Mother and the book he wrote "Christmas Sweater" which has become a #1 bestseller.
As discussed here many times, the Mormon theology and Joseph Smith, etc ...... is not for me. However, when you hear his testimony today .... it sounds like he is a real Christian that has received the gospel of Christ ......
I was wondering and asking the same questions today as I was listening to him.
I guess I am always looking and hoping that someone will perhaps discover the real truth.
I will leave that to the one who is the ultimate judge. People can change and you really hope they will. This is the very first time I have listened to him since he sorely disappointed us. I also said I would never listen to Hannity again and I find that I am.... I guess, never say never.

Jill A: As Doctor David said. Glenn Beck has said that he is a mormon. When it comes to politics, Glenn has made "truth" what he wants it to be. He has spit in the eye of truth when it doesn't serve his purpose. He is selfserving and not a friend of true God-fearing Christians. I would say the same for Hannity, Ingraham and Rush. Not that they are mormons, but that they also have made "truth" what he wants it to be.I listen every once in a while in hopes that they may mend their ways. However, they seem as though they are already sharpening their knives and cleaning their guns for a battle against the Christian conservative base. They think that money and borders are the main issues and that the sanctity of life and healthy families are a sidelin. They see us as a nuisance that must be dealt with.
Honestly, I get so frustrated that I have to take a week off from the news every once in a while.
Doctor David, I appreciate your posts very much. They are insightful, honest and uplifting. Thank you.

Jill A: As far as I can tell, Glenn Beck is a Mormon demagogue for whom the truth is not very important. He was a Romney supporter who was cordial to Mike when he interviewed him, but then stabbed him in the back repeatedly when Mike was not around to defend himself. Why anyone would listen to Glenn Beck is beyond me!

Harley Bue 11/25 1:05 am: Two groups of people have a vested interest in the current tax system. One is the Congressmen who are able to write tax laws that benefit special interests in return for political support. The other is the tax attorneys who make a living giving advice about how to get around the tax code. Both of these are against the Fair Tax, which is one reason why it will be difficult to enact into law. We know George Irwin is not a Congressman, but we do not know he is not an attorney. If he would let us know, we might be more interested in hearing his objections to the Fair Tax.
But you are right, in life, there is something called the "Law of Unintended Consequences", and if we ever got to the point where the Fair Tax could become a reality, we would need to be prepared for all the effects, not just the ones its advocates are excited about.

If you get an opportunity to listen to CBN and the 700 Club today, I think it would be worth it. I know that in my location, it is played on TBN in the afternoon and on the Family Channel later in the evening as well as this morning...... Pat interviews Glenn Beck .... A very interesting interview ...... As we have heard, Beck will be joining Fox.
He doesn't sound very optimistic for America's future ..... A great revival perhaps but at what cost ?Sobering times we live in ..... But because of God's mercy ..... nothing shall be impossible unto us.

I agree with the positive comments on the Fair Tax - in general, however, I agree we may be lacking in knowledge.
From the limited exposure I have to the Fair Tax, it appears to be relatively simple to implement with an inherent positive impact on our society in general.
That being said, the US economic infrastructure is complex with a wide range of interactive variables; one wonders whether our analysis matrix on this site is somewhat top level and deficient in some cause and effect chains. One also wonders why John Linder has not yet achieved a majority vote in Congress to enact it. It seems somewhat bipartisan in nature; what is the vested interest for those in opposition?
I trust Mike's judgement and believe he typically has relevant data before endorsing new policies that have a large impact on our culture. At the same time, it would be of interest to hear legitimate reasons from those with knowledge who are in opposition.

COULD THIS BE THE MIRACLE WE'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR?
