I sent e-mails to my representatives yesterday thanking them both for voting the will of their constutuents--against the bailout.
One of them is a HuckPAC candidate--and the other is HuckPAC calibre.
Bernard Goldberg put his career on the line some years ago to publish an exposé of media bias--one anecdote he related was of a tv journalist immediately after Reagan was elected--the reaction? "I can't believe it! I don't know ONE PERSON who voted for him!"
'nuff said!
Some time ago, I raised my HuckPAC goal considerably.
I'm volunteering on the phone bank of one of the HuckPAC candidates, who happens to be running in my district. I anticipate working about 40 hours for him. Maybe you don't have a HuckPAC candidate in your district--but you want to contribute.
What do you think an hourly wage should be? Donate that amount to R23745, and I'll wear YOUR name as I work that hour! (Please post the name you want me to wear!)
Here are all the "close parenthesis" marks I have left off past posts! )))))))))

Linda Rayborn,
There maybe a thread of confusion in the discussion on conservative choice versus candidate criteria for Presidential office.
I think we all believe that the foundation of our nation is based on Judaeo-Christian values. In light of that, as Christians, our candidates-of-choice would be Bible believers who support our values.
While this is our choice, we should not be intolerant of candidates or voters who differ from our convictions/values.
We also believe that ideally, candidates and voters alike should maintain this perspective and vote accordingly.
Current presidential candidates with diversified values are widely divided over pro-life, marriage, other social issues, as well as foreign and economic policy.
I believe that Mike was stating that in our democratic process, any individual of any faith can potentially run for office.
The only criteria for running for President is to be 35 yrs. old, 14 yrs. residency, and meet citizen-ship requirements.
Quote from Constitution -
No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.While we have our preferential choices to uphold the founding fathers intent, an increasingly secular society may choose otherwise and still remain within the criteria for candidacy.
Hopefully, we can be preferential and steadfast without bigotry or prejudicial response to others.
At any rate, I believe we are to honor and pray for all authorities, even those we disagree with.

Separation of church and state issue
The issue concerning church and state separation has often been misinterpreted. The original founders meant that the church should be protected from the government, not the reverse.
David Barton is the current American expert concerning all issues relevant to the Constitution and legacy/history of the founding fathers. From his website, the following;
a. the phrase "separation of church and state" does not appear in any official government documents
b. this term was coined by ACLU attorney Leo Pfeffer in 1947
c. the term referred to a letter from Thomas Jefferson which included the words below;
"make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,” thus building a wall of separation between Church and State".
d. original intent by Jefferson was that the church should be protected from the gov't, not the reverse
[this really means that freedom to worship God as an individual w/o gov't intervention is the right of every citizen]the website below provides documented evidence of this;
http://www.creationists.org/churchandstate.htmlThis does not in any way assume that Biblical principles should not influence decision making in gov't. That would violate
the founding fathers underlying moral codes.Moral convictions will influence legislation. One blatant fact emphasizing the relevance of spiritual influence in our political, legislative process is the fact that 27 of the 56 founding fathers had Christian seminary degrees.
Moral philosophy, life principles, and personal convictions typically dictate legislative decision-making. Current presidential candidates with diversified values are widely divided over pro-life, marriage, and other social issues, as well as foreign and economic policy.

Gandma4Huck2 God bless you! Keep up the good work. I agree! I couldn't say it any better. You know what you are talking about. I can tell you have studied your history. I wish people would seek the Lord and meditate on this. Our laws are based on the bible those laws wouldn't mean anything to someone who didn't believe in that bible. I can't see a Nation of another faith, who's law's are based on their faith, electing a bible believing Christian to stand for and enforce their laws. It just wouldn't work. I can't even see a Christian wanting to.
My forefather came here in the year of 1700 and it saddens me to see how we are giving up what they gave us.
Linda Rayborn,All I have to say is that you have a right to your view. I would truly be a bigot if I put you down for it.

From the old fogy section: To all those giving opinions on what kind of a show Mike should develop, we should remember that his show can be a bridge between his 2008 campaign and the one we hope he will have in 2012. It shouldn't degenerate into another Johnny Carson show. Johnny was sharp and lovable, but no one would have voted for him for President because the side of himself that was on view was incompatible with being the leader of the free world. Mike needs his show to not be an opportunity for ridicule by potential opponents in 2012. His humor will surface spontaneously, it doesn't have to be planned.

Great job, Mike! You are one of the few voices of reasons left in the political world today. We need you as a nominee. You are the only one who could have taken on Barack Obama. Too bad the GOP was too focused on Hillary Clinton and too busy bashing you to notice what this election was going to come down to in the end.

I enjoyed your program. I would have liked to have seen Elizabeth be a little more transparent about the nonsense on the View. She made it seem far more about their friendship inspite of, rather than dealing with the fact that the program is liberal and so far liberal that they attack conservatives. I also disagreed with her implication that McCain was treated appropriately. He was treated with contempt and disrespect.
Also, I loved the band but the song was very long for a close out. Perhaps break it up where they play close out to commercials and then 3 minutes close out at the end or something like that. I hope your audience will become MORE LIVELY. Real life questions is a bonus! You may want to NOT take questions on the fly but rather give out a card at the beginning to have each person write down their name and question. Have those cards collected by your staff and go through and pick out a variety of a few to read on aire and then answer them in addition to taking a few more from the audience. I'd like to also see a good mixture of every day people as guests just as much as you have news, political and celebrity (like Elizabeth) type people on.Dive into the real lives of people. Invite real people to come on and share their stories. Give us a voice to be heard -- Christian and non believers. Conservatives and Liberals but you're show will have to set a tone where people don't come on cursing and fighting with each other. I'm sure you would not permit that.
Finally, keep your humor alive. It's great. At the hour of night you're coming on people don't want to hear long winded speeches so keep your humor and have short segments of several epople to keep it lively and interesting.
Thank you for all you do to help America. God bless you.

Dear Linda Rayborn,
First, no one on this website is a bigot. It is unfortunate that you used that term to describe anyone on this website. I am sure we all have many family/friends/ acquaintances of many different faiths, and we do not judge them for what they believe.
Second, we know that our government was founded upon Judeo-Christian beliefs set down by the Founding Fathers -- the very foundation of our government (Declaration of Independence; U.S. Constitution; legislated laws).
Third, Traditional American culture (Separatists or Pilgrims, Episcopalians or Church of England, Puritans, Baptists, Quakers, and Catholics) dating to the 17th through the 19th centuries held core beliefs consistent with Biblical instruction, but differed in the form of religious practice. Those settlers designed a government reflecting Godly beliefs (America’s core). They brought with them the “Geneva Bible” seeking freedom to practice their belief in God’s word (old and new testament) without persecution. Today, Christians in this country are continually mocked for their beliefs. Why?
Answer: Unfortunately, Thomas Jefferson wrote a letter in 1802 using the term “separation of church” which has been badly misinterpreted throughout our political system. The phrase was then quoted by the U.S. Supreme Court first in 1878, and then in a series of cases starting in 1947. This has snowballed and led to the erroneous increased popular and political use of those words. Those words were never intended to separate our government from the beliefs of those early Christians in designing our government and schools after Godly principles. We need to uphold those beliefs which is the very core of America.
This doesn’t mean we deny others their right to practice different religions, but it does mean that our governmental body was/is designed to uphold the Christian belief. The Ten Commandments are the very basis of our legal system, and look was we have done to them. You can’t even create a “wall of separation” between church and state, because the Church (God’s Kingdom) has no walls.
We are following the directives of God for creating a government with political leaders that will uphold God’s word. If political leaders cannot support and uphold those beliefs, they should not hold U.S. governmental office.

TOGETHER WE STAND!!!

I count 6 Viruses!!!
Something more is wrong!!! Its not just only Greed in Wall street!!!
Lets look at the whole picture!When you get your pay check and spend only 75% of it every week then you build up a reserve. (I know everyone here knows this), But now if a person spends 100% every week then he will have no reserve.
Which person would be worst off if they were to get sick and miss a day of work.A man who spends everything can not adsorb a crises like a man who has a reserve.
This same principle describes every single Financial and Oil crises we have right now.
Some banks or wall street put up more then they had (not enough reserve) and got sick.
Our Unbalanced trade has more $$ flowing out then coming in and taking away from our reserve (economy) and now we can't handle getting sick.
The world Oil out puts equals what the world uses which means no reserve. Any sickness hurts, Anything that happens in the supply side from overseas oil rigs going down or off line for a while to a hurricane, causes a shortage.
Our Gov. is spending more then it takes in and since the economy is it's income this spells trouble.Seams like most of the people wants to balances their check book to a T to where it only leaves them very little if something happens, It also seams most thinks that what you own makes Happiness, a lot wants to buy cars, house and clothes that say look at me, but yet they are the most in debt.
Many buy these high dollar Items thinking that Peace, Happiness and Satisfaction will be there, BUT they do not realize that Peace, Happiness and Satisfaction are hanging out with the ones that help others and Give secretly without expecting a return.***Since every one of these above are out of balance, when one gets sick it effects ALL.
Why does all this matter, it's because God said so, God said everything must be Balanced!!! God said do not store treasures up on earth where they will rust, God says its better to give then to receive and God says to give without sounding you trumpet Because he will pat you on the back and say, that a boy, in a much bigger and better way the anyone on earth can!!
O yea, When I said Viruses on the title, I was talking about the sickness that I described above not your computer, But it got your attention didn't it. -

Good morning everyone!
I hope y'all had a great weekend and enjoyed Mike's new show as much as I did! I loved the band at the end! They sounded awesome! :)
It is clearly evident through his new show that Mike is going th extra mile for us, and the causes that we all hold close to our hearts. That is why I am going the extra mile for him!
Today will be the 5th day I will be "Walking the extra Mile" for Mike and for my health. Together we have raised $345.00 towards the goal of $500.00 by tomorrow night (a special thanks to everyone who has donated thus far!). Will you cheer me on and give Mike a hand at the same time?
There is no need for anyone to feel like they have to donate a whole lot of money during these tough times. Even a small amount will help because the goal can be reached one "Buck For Huck" at a time!

I am shocked to see that several people have actually complained that Governor Huckabee said you don't have to be a Christian to run for President. This is America and everyone here has the same advantages as the other. That means anyone can and should be able to run for president. If you don't like something about a candidate it is your right to vote against them. But they certainly have the right to run for president and to win if they get the majority of the votes. Anyone who is bigoted AGIANST another person for religious beliefs (there should be religion and state separation) is not understanding the very basics of our freedom.

Governor Huckabee, I sure did enjoy watching your show last night. In fact, I watched it and then I watched the repeat. I would have watched it again tonight, but I was at church. I loved the question/answer segments and I thought the line up of guests was great. I love Elizabeth Hasselbeck and Dave Ramsey. I also loved the fox news channel band. That was so cool. A member of my church ...a sweet elderly lady...just loves you so much. She came up to me today and grabbed my hand and asked if I had watched your show. She was so tickled that you have your own show now. I called my mom up and told her your show was on, so she and my other family members watched as well. They thought you answered the questions wonderfully. I can't wait til next Saturday. Great job.

Some have expressed a concern about the response Gov. Huckabee gave concerning faith. As I watched his show again tonight, I listened closely as I had interpreted a different meaning to his statement.
I believe he was simply indicating the eligibility of the American citizen--anyone of age who lives in American can run for public office no matter what their faith happens to be. We have members of congress of all different faiths. However, whether or not Gov. Huckabee would endorse a candidate who is not a Christian remains to be seen, and whether he would vote for such a candidate would also be another story, and would more than likely be between him and God.
In other words I think he was addressing what is actually required for an American citizen to run for President or any other public office as well as the importance of revealing the faith of the candidate in order to help the American people decide whether or not they would want to vote for that particular candidate.
I hope I am not putting words in Gov. Huckabee's mouth. I just wanted to share my opinion. I have enjoyed reading all these comments as they are all very interesting.

Two more comments: I agree with Sarah Lee that there is a lot of inane back and forth on Fox News masquerading as substance, whose real purpose is to obfuscate. I saw none on your show last night, but believe it important, as Ann Dodds does, to have top notch people from all parts of the political spectrum in order to give you a chance to share your views, which will be the substance of the show. After all, you duh man!!
However, I do not agree with others that your comment about the religious views of candidates last night was problematic. I loved your answer, and think it is a Presidential one. One's religion is in the heart, not in someone's doctrinal book.

Those of you who understood Huck to say that it's OK for anyone of any faith to be President or elected to office, I think you misunderstood the context. The question asked was by a college Democrat "is it fair for the media to so closely examine a person's faith?" Specifically referring to Obama's faith. Huck's answer wasn't "politically correct" or compromising in any way. He stated that it is indeed fair, and necessary to examine a candidate's faith in order to make an informed decision and vote.
Thankfully now, we do live in a country where there is freedom of religion for all. We may not agree with others, and we vote our conscience and pray for the mercy of God. This is our privilege and right. We must work as hard to protect the freedoms of other as we do our own, and along with this reveal the truth as best we can. -
Dodds, Ann
09/28/2008 07:27 PM
Thought of something else..I watched "Mike and ??" blonde woman when they first started out at Fox News with a live audience. They walked around some, and they seemed to enjoy the audience and laughed a lot. They became more popular, and they went on another channel. Their naturalness was wonderful to watch.
During your primary campaign you were always referring to your religion and I think it turned some people off. I think by your kindness and how you act, this comes through. Because you were a pastor, that's why it seems more blatant. Sarah Palin doesn't wear her religion on her sleeve, and I think because of that she is acceptable to more people. In your TV show, it's even more important not to appear to be trying to preach to people.
I understand where you are coming from when you point out that we shouldn't eliminate someone from office because of their religion...their values are most important. When you say that, if you don't explain what you mean, some people might take it wrong. I am a Christian and am very glad you are, but our country is based on freedom of religion and we have to respect everyone's religion. That doesn't mean we want their religion as our own, but we can agree to disagree agreeably.
If you have guests who have the Conservative and Liberal viewpoints, more people will continue to watch your show. I'm sure you can give good answers to the Libs and listen to them...then show them where they are wrong!!! LOL
If you act like you normally are, most people cannot help but like you. Take control of the show, it's your show...show all the talent God has given you.

Gov. Huckabee, I was so happy to see you again on Fox News. I enjoyed your show and like others said, the hour flew by. I do have some suggestions:
When I look on Shepherd's show on Fox, he has lots of computer pizzazz showing the name of his show...could they do some of that for you?
I think you need someone to introduce you and you come out. At least for the next few shows, tell what your goals are for your show, like speaking to middle America about the issues of the day.
Watch "Ellen" and "Montel" and notice how animated they are when they talk and especially how "Ellen" uses humor. You have a natural wit, but on television I think everything has to be more exaggerated. Also, the audience is always thrilled if you give something away to them.
After your monologue (use more humor) I think it would come across more natural if you get a stool on the stage and sit and take a lot more questions. This gets the audience and the TV audience more interested in the questions and your answers.
Since this is a live audience and they don't always laugh loud at certain time, do you think it would be more dramatic if the drummer would give a roll when you make a joke about something?When you joined the band signaling the beginning of a commercial on Jay Leno, it seemed like a good way for you to use your talent on your show too. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it seemed like a lot of time when the band played a whole song at the end of your show. I think having the band play parts of short tunes before commercials would be better. This would give you more time for interaction with the audience and your guests.
I know your show will be a great success. I think you are great, but this is all new to you too and in time you will loosen up and be more relaxed.

I watched your show last night and I thought it was great!
But I, like Grandma4Huck2, was a little disapointed when you talked like anyone of any faith can hold public office as long as they are a good moral person. If we start voting in people who are of other faiths then Judiac Christain they will be changing our Judaic Christain laws. It will be a bigger mess then what we have now. I believe that Grandma4Huck2 is right about who should hold public office. It sounded more like Fox News then you. I hope we misunderstood you.

I watched the show. By the way, it aired again later in the evening, in the 11 o'clock spot I think. You created a very good environment. Your guests and audience were much more comfortable than on other shows and I think they were relieved that they could be themselves without having to worry about constantly defending themselves or being ever watchful of the gotcha-question from some sweetly smiling (sappy) face. (Perhaps they'll start dubbing you the "Kinder, Gentler, No Spin Zone") The music was an interesting refreshing idea. Work on the singing. Don't turn it into the culture quiz. I will have to mention that there is something I don't like. The show is very much like the regular fox shows- get the talking heads on and let them express their view, back and forth. We have too much of this already and another such show doesn't interest me even if you are hosting it. It's like fox has pool of talking heads that just float from show to show, while viewership comes from the attraction of the personality of the host and the news varies little from hour to hour, just the delivery. Fox just keeps these people "debating" and when it's over, you never gain enough information to draw a conclusion for yourself, nor has any of the talking heads been abIe to make a convincing arguement. I think they do this intentionally in order to supress what is really going on. When you take the time to really look into things, it's easy to see what's happening, and it's easy to see that they all well know it too. This is disgusting and I've had enough. If your show would select people who are well versed in certian topics who would simply explain what is going on and why, then I'd watch and then I think you'd be doing a service. People nowdays for the most part don't really understand what is going on, they just listen to someone they trust and repeat their dogma. James Dobsen if a perfect example- had he endorsed you, you'd had the support of all his followers. For example on your show they mentioned the Sarbanes Oxley. I don't understand it, just know that someone whom I think has good judgement says it's bad, so I figure it is. I didn't understand the financial crisis and it's reprecussions until someone explained it and I bet there are still some people who don't. The people out here are tired of hearing what someone "thinks" happened, they want to hear "this is what happened and these are some ideas to fix it". Sure noone can give a perfectly correct assessment but it can get alot better than it is. Try this radio show for a good financial perspective:
http://www.cornerstonefinancial-tx.com/new/cornerstonefinancial-tx/default.aspI have to say I am disappointed, because you have so much wisdom and experience, and it seems like it is going to waste by being a show host. You were and are are great role model for people who are interested in government, how it works, and how a real leader governs. You were the one who exposed how deeply biased fox news was to millions of people by your honest run for the white house. Now here you are saying stuff like it doesn't matter what religion you are if you are president. You can even be Muslim. Certainly not. Are you already becoming politically correct? Is this how fox news is going to cover their buts and keep you quiet? Are they going to use you to make-over on their tarnished image?
If the show doesn't improve, I'm sorry, won't be interested in it. You know what the Bible says about the last days-- people will be always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. (2 Timothy 3:7)

Where is it at?
The Government, companies, businesses, banks and people all used to have more money and now all across the board everyone has way less and some have none, I mean even our Gov. is broke and in debt.
Where is all this money at now? It has to be somewhere, If Banks or our Gov. does not have it and the US companies don't have it and we the people don't have it, where is it? Even the banks don't have it. Where is all the extra Money we once had at?
Is it in other countries now and if so how do we get it back?
It's Got to be somewhere!!!
Can someone try to find it because we need it badly!!! -

The Old Rugged Cross
On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary.So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see,
For 'twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then He'll call me some day to my home far away,
Where His glory forever I'll share.So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.Words & Music: George Bennard, 1913

Dear "HUCKABEE" :DI am so excited about your new show. Watched it last night. I, like a previous blogger here, was quite nervous for you. Even though you ran for the most important position in our wonderful country just recently, I know you must have been so nervous. I know I would be. I wouldn't even be able to do it. But, Mike, you were GREAT, as usual. We miss you Mike on the campaign trail. Still wish you were going to be our next President. We, my Husband and I, will be faithful viewers of your new show! We are so excited!!!!! Like others I know are sure to be saying, Mike, just be your wonderful, funny, witty, and down-to-earth self, and I know you will be fine. I also have a suggestion for an episode to your show. Gosh Mike, the possibilities are just so exciting. It involves a Date my Husband and I went on...My Husband and I went on a movie date on Friday. We went to see the new Movie "Fireproof". It was a wonderful movie with so many wonderful messages in it...Marriage, Moral values, Addictions in a relationship or ourselves that can ruin a Marriage, and how Christ can change a life and a Marriage. This movie brought me to tears many times. Mike, I believe as a Christian, Its about time we as Christians support good Movies with good values. These days, with Hollywood being so out of touch with the average Conservative person, out of touch with the Christian community. So opposed to values that the average American holds dear to our hearts. I think we need more movies that promote good, sound, moral, conservative values. And when they do get made we need to go out and support them. Another movie that will be coming out on October 3rd. An American Carole. A spoof on that crazy real life character Michael Moore. My Husband and I are looking forward to that movie too. Folks...coming to a Theater near you. Lets all go out and see it and make it a hit and send Hollywood a message...WE ARE CONSERVATIVE AND PROUD OF IT. We want to see better stuff coming out of Hollywood...We will take a stand and go out and see Movies and views we want to see!!!!!We are sick and tired of the liberal bias and their liberal view of life that is coming out of Hollywood. Just look at the lineup that is coming to the theaters from Hollywood now. Example...The movie "W"I WONT GO SEE IT! YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS GOING TO BE ABOUT. BASHING OUR PRESIDENT. LIKE HIM OR HATE HIM. HE HAS PROTECTED US FROM TERRORIST ATTACKS SINCE 9 11...NO ONE IS PERFECT. AT LEAST HE DOES NOT CHEAT ON HIS WIFE IN THE OVAL OFFICE!!!!!I, for one, am proud of GW. He has not been perfect, yes, thats true, but who amoung us is????? Lets pray for our President not bash and hate him please! And they call Christians "Haters"...In the words of McCain... AUH PLEASE!!!!!Another movie coming from Hollywood in a theater near you soon, the movie with the three people going home from the war. The actor, Tim Robbins, I think that is his name, isnt it. You just know what that movie is going to be all about! Spewing anti war sentiment while we are trying to fight against terrorism in our time. While our men and women are at the front lines in Iraq, they continue to demean our Country, our President, who is trying to do His best to protect us from Terrorists coming into our country to do us Harm, trying to demean our troops in harms way, and its been going on for a long time and it sickens me!Mike, I think it would be a great idea to promote, when they come out, good movies with good moral values and themes or Movies that have a conservative point of view. Instead of the trash that is coming out of Hollywood these days.You could invite, perhaps, Kirk Cameron, the star of this Movie Fireproof, on your show and talk about this movie. YOu could tie it in to Hollywood and the stuff they put out. You could talk about the Moral values of our day with this interview, Christianity, Marriage, the politics of Hollywood and themes they are putting out there that promotes their liberal points of view and compare them to the amount of movies they put out with a conservative point of view, which I might add is vertually niltch! And at the same time promote a good Movie with a good Theme. Christianity, Marriage, divorce, what addictions can do to a marriage and there are so many addictions that can be in a Marriage and I am not talking about the ones that may come to our mind like drugs or alcohol, but the addiction of pornography that can get in the way of a good marriage. "Never leave your Partner behind" In this Movie, the Firefighters motto. Mike, Maybe you could even invite a few of the actors of this movie on your show on the same night. I think an interview like this would have a lot of themes you could tie into it - alot of possibilities. The politics of Hollywood, Chrisitianity, Marriage, Values issues...and so much more. I think It would make for a very interesting show.I am endorsing and would recommend people go and see this movie "Fireproof". It was such a wonderful movie with so many great messages in it. It really touched my heart. Lets support more movies like this. We cannot go wrong in doing so!
STILL for Mike Huckabee in Mansfield Ohio
BUT voting for McCain/PALIN :D
I LIKE PALIN ;D
PERHAPS MIKE HUCKABEE IN 2012 :D -

Liked the show. It was a refreshing approach.
Wow! One person speaking at a time, rather than the rude interruption style that is so dominant on news talk shows today. Also enjoyed the band/music at the end, with participation by Fox-only staff - nice touch.
Onlyhuckabee.com has good comments below. Need knowledgeable people for discussion on all issues. Need a flag and definitely some patriotic music. Some military experts with military viewpoint.
I get tired of hearing so much Bush-bashing commentary in the media. I believe Bush is a sincere President who seeks God's guidance in his decisions and certainly does not deserve the negativityy surrounding him. Most of this is the result of the media. When I discuss with older citizens in this country how they feel about Bush. Every time, they say, "He has kept us safe." Do something that will counter the media attacks on our President.
I was only confused by one comment. I believe you said “any person should be able to hold U.S. government office even though they do not necessarily support your beliefs (which are the founding father’s beliefs) as long as that person is honest about what they believe.” I hope I misunderstood your comment.
America was established upon Christian beliefs. Any person who believes otherwise should not hold a government position in this country. One’s citizenship in this country guarantees them/me the privilege of living in America without persecution for their beliefs; however, we have a responsibility to uphold the founding father’s Christian principles and values upon which this country was based and which were “fixed” in the 18th Century. There is no law that will persecute another for a different view, but to hold public office and not be able to support that view, but rather politically advocate another view will continue to bring social disorder. To live in this country, one must know that America is “one nation under God’s rules,” not a nation under diverse rules. He who rules over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God (2 Samuel 23:3). It is important that we elect political leaders that are God fearing.
Every time I witness a departure from God’s rules (e.g., the current financial fiasco), it reaffirms my belief that we have once again allowed the core of America to be violated. We get what we deserve for allowing it to occur in the first place.

We enjoyed the show. It was good. The clips you showed with Jeremiah Wright and the View were a much needed reminder. Thank you.

What really touched my heart was Elizabeth Hasselbeck's patriotism. She said that she would support our country no matter who is president.
That doesn't mean we have to stay silent and let anything happen and not get involved, but something about her sweet spirit and love of our country and loyalty really touched my heart!
Elizabeth is really showing her courage to stand up for principles and faith with those liberal ladies on the view.

As the show went on the air, I found I was nervous, as one might be if a family member was going on TV for the first time. Early on, it felt a little incongruous that the man who is the best of us should be entertaining us with his light touch when the country is in crisis. Also, it felt a little weird to see Mike doing the interviewing, instead of being interviewed. Over time, however, I adjusted, relaxed, and began to enjoy it more. I did like the monologue, and thought it was good to have Geraldine Ferraro on (although I am no fan of hers) because Mike needs people of stature to play against. I am hoping the show will evolve into something like the Charley Rose show with an audience and a band. Didactic interaction with a small number of guests of the highest caliber possible. But like Randy Davis, I see it all through the lens of great admiration for Governor Huckabee, and hope his show will evolve into a viewing habit for millions of people. I am planning on being among them.

Gosh only huckabee.com---it was a pilot--!some good suggestions though...my only one is "be yourself " and its okay to get enthusiastic and gush a little when people treat you nice or even when show you up.
Enthusiam Makes the difference !
Right smiles here ... there but a perfect example ...(from the debate though)
...I thought it was funny when John McCain is saying Barack will get us all killed and BO is still nodding his head up and down...then he realized what "JOHN" was saying and started nodding the other direction...
If it weren't so true I would have laughed my head off...guess I won't have to worry about that anymore!

My dad and I watched the show and enjoyed it very much.
loved the question and answer part. the response to the question about barrowing from a 401 to pay off high credit bill. was one that our family had struggled with the thought of. glad to find the answer, before we made the mistake. Thanks.
I do have one question, the lady from the fox net work, spoke of a web site that explained how we got into the mess with the housing. started with R reinvestement something. does anyone know what that was. I know that she was very upset about it.
loved the band. good to see that you used everyday people with the love of music.
keep up the good work. Danielle

Mike,
The show is AMAZING. I have a feeling that folks will be looking forward to the wisdom of your monologues even more than O Riley's LOL. Continue to pray for wisdom, because at the rate that politicians are adopting your ideas, you could be the shadow president of the US no matter who wins.
Please keep the audience question segments.. so real, and it gives you that direct chance to influence lives with your answers.
Keep that warm, intimate, safe place feeling tone on the set and guests will be lining up to get on. No one likes the feeling of stepping into a trap and waiting for gotchas.
I'd love for this to be a daily show, but I guess with your need to travel for the pac you'd have trouble making the tapings.
God has provided you a wonderful platform to advocate for the common sense conservative values we all hold dear. This is your mountaintop experience, and I would suggest the show will afford you the strongest test to date of preserving the imortance of principles over politics.
Don't sell yourself short, don't give in to the temptation to do or say provocative things just to stay in the headlines. Viewers will love you best when you are true to yourself. and remember, there is only ONE critic you truly have to please...and it isn't you. LOL
May God richly bless you. I speak prosperity and divine favor into this endeavor in the name of Jesus.
Send the ratings through the roof Lord!!
Can't wait to watch again tonight... (you should tape two shows so we get a double dose!!)
All the best!!

Excellent show Mike! ---but because we're all human (and not perfect) may i put in my 2 cents worth?
1) LOVE the name. don't change it, add, or take away from it.
2) WHERE'S the American flag? Get AT LEAST ONE somewhere on the set!!!
3) fewer segments, longer segments. you seemed to have to rush through each one. however, if you have to cram all the ads in somewhere, keep the short segments but continue them into the next segment (i think you did that with Elizabeth Hasselbeck).
4) when you get guests, try to get ones knowledgeable on the subject. i'm not sure two of your three guests (Ferraro and the lady from the Fox organization - if forget what dept. she was VP of) were knowledgeable on economic issues. also, maybe have a "special" guest (maybe once a week) such as a minor (under 18) who sacrificed their time to do something good for America - or a "special needs" child - or a real elderly person who is not afraid to "tell it like it is".... a good segment can spill over onto other talk shows (inside and outside Fox) and accelerate your ratings....
5) put more variety in the segments - some ideas for different segments would be - economic, foreign affairs, domestic concerns, humor, audience, and only ONE segment on "guests" because we want to hear from YOU. we can always watch geraldine ferraro on other shows if we want (i think she's a might more conservative than she used to be).
6) Keep the band. i think they were actually GOOD (i have to admit that i had low expectations).
7) "lead-in music" - maybe put some of the band music at the beginning of each segment (but not too long - 5 to 10 seconds) to bring excitement and tie it into the band at the end of the show.
8) before the music at the end, tell your viewers that you were HAPPY that they watched the show and create or coin a little SERIOUS phrase at the end of the show before the band starts such as "Remember, we only have ONE America. Let's not lose it or abuse it. God bless America". or "Remember, let's be America-centered instead of self-centered" - orsomething similar - and then go into the band music....
9) let's get some of the best segments on you-tube and get some exposure....
10) TAKE CHARGE OF THE SHOW. it's YOUR show. Let your guests speak but DON'T let them hijack YOUR show.
11) stay relaxed. you never have to work on this because you always are relaxed. just be yourself.
12) don't laugh during serious discussion. you didn't do this last night but i say this because there's a fine line between laughing or keeping a smile during discussion - when serious issues are discussed such as war. the main thing to remember - BE YOURSELF & use plain old common sense.
i'm no expert so i won't be offended if u don't like my thoughts. i just want to try to be helpful with what i noticed about your show and what i notice about other shows i watch. maybe others here have constructive thoughts too - or disagree with me on something??
please don't think for a second - just because i i relayed my thoughts - that i never liked the show. i did VERY much. i just know that shows need "excitement" and "entertainment" to keep the show "alive" and interesting.
oh, one more thing - maybe chalk-artist Davis could do one of his special "black light" drawings of a "patriotic theme" during a show sometime (or during holidays???) and take a few seconds every 10 or 15 minutes or so before each segment to check on his progress and have him "unveil" it at the end of the show... for those who have never seen his work, he is GOOD. i'm not sure how well his drawing would turn out on TV though....
i hope your show only lasts 4 years because in 2012 you won't be able to do the show AND be President!
...or maybe you can??
Good Luck Mike!!
keep praying,
keep smiling,
keep positive,
keep working,
keep relaxed,
keep real,
keep believing,louis gander

About last night's band at the end of the show.
It was so delightful to see real people, just regular folks, enjoying making music..........
like people do in living rooms and garages across America.What a clever idea.
Of the people, by the people, for the people.I hope your show continues and the band
stays on. -

I don't know if this is the right place to give you my thoughts on the first show.
First of all, I always liked Mike Huckabee and thought his first show " The Show Huckabee" was just great. He had very interesting guests that gave very good info to the questions his live audience asked. The topping on the cake was the live house
band "The Little Rockers. Looking forward to next weeks show. -

Governor Huckabee,
The show was amazing. I am an English citizen, so I had to watch it at some obscure time in the early hours. However it was well worth it. You come across as very humble, very human and like a natural.
All the best for the future :).

Your show was refreshing. With all political and economic angst swirling around us it was actually relaxing to have the issues presented in a calm, clear way. Your guests did a great job. Everything seemed genuine. I will tune in again.
