Greetings, Huck PAC family!
Janet and I are in Japan this week where I’ll be speaking on several college campuses, meeting with business leaders, and meeting with government officials, some of whom I know from previous trips here during my tenure as Governor. We are delighted at the warm welcome we’ve already received and especially amazed at the depth at which people in Japan follow the American elections.
We are truly touched to see the devastation left by the record floods in Iowa. I often say that Iowa is my “2nd favorite state” thanks to the wonderful support that we had there leading to a stunning win in the Iowa caucuses earlier this year. We see the photos of familiar landmarks and are left speechless by seeing those places underwater and knowing that for all the damage to the property, the real story is the damage to the people who live in those places. Many of their lives will never be the same.
One doesn’t have to have a special love for Iowa as I do to have a true concern for great people there and I want to encourage all our HuckPac family to do what you can to assist through relief efforts. Of course, since Janet works for the Red Cross, I’m sure she’d suggest Red Cross as a vehicle to help. Our prayers truly go out for our friends there. I was scheduled to be there last Friday and Saturday, but the events at the state GOP were cancelled due to the weather and flooding. I’ve been in touch with Bob Vander Plaats, our Iowa chairman and dear friend, who has kept us updated on things as well.
We also have been touched by the shocking death of Tim Russert. As you probably remember, I announced my candidacy on Meet the Press in January of 2007 and when I appeared on May 18 of this year, I became the last Presidential candidate in this election cycle from either party to be on the program with Tim. In my every encounter with him, he was tough, but fair and the consummate professional in every way. More importantly, he was a truly decent human being. On the day I was with him May 18, he was leaving the studio that day to be with his son, Luke, who was graduating from Boston College that very day. There was a special glow in his face as he exuded the pride of a father whose son was reaching a major milestone. I had no idea it would be the last time I would see him.
Many of you have read that I’ll be doing commentary with Fox News from time to time and will be developing a show that will launch later. As details surface, I’ll keep you posted. I’m working on the final chapters of my book “Do the Right Thing” that will be released in November. I think you’ll love the book since it will reveal much of the behind the scenes of the campaign as well as discuss what the road ahead looks like for America. My goal is to take what we saw ignited in the campaign for pro-life, pro-family, conservative principles and not only keep our “community” active, but growing stronger. I love reading your comments on the blog and hope you keep talking to me and to each other and to the rest of America.
I truly appreciate all you are doing to help us help candidates across the country through HuckPac. Keep the faith, love your family, and keep standing for our precious freedoms!
God bless you all.

Thomas Kissell,
Your post is EXACTLY what I have been saying all along. I will NOT vote for McCain and consistantly have NOT been in support of Mike being on his ticket which would be the kiss of death for his reputation in the long run.
I am happy to see that there is finally starting to be more people that GET IT and are becoming vocal about it.
Right On Brother! Join those of us that are praying and Urging Mike to get back in this race and save our country from these 2 HORRIBLE choices that 2/3 of our country on both sides of the aisle do not want to be our next President.
Huckabee/Hunter 2008 or Bust!

Mike is by far the political candidate that I have gotten the most excited about of any of the figures in my lifetime (being the time I've been aware of my world) (I'm 22 and have follwed politics for about 10 yrs now)...fyi, I'm currently wearing a Chuck for Huck shirt.
And while I think Huckabee is perhaps the best representation of a Christian in politics and the positions that we should take, and I also believe that he is perhaps the best chance conservatives have to strike a note with the general population (not just the "kingmakers")....I realize that the principles are still vitally important. And while I certainly don't like everything McCain stands for, he is a FAR better choice the Freshman Senator Obama. I believe it would be foolish not to support McCain and simply yield 1/3 of our total government to a force for the homosexual agenda, abortion support (including live-birth abortion), increased taxes, increased government control, who is from a state where your 2nd Amendment Rights only extend the expanse of your property line, and has a 97% liberal rating.
We need to stop this complaining about McCain and start working to defeat this dangerous agenda in November. Yes, McCain has problems with many conservatives, but to sit at home and willingly ceed power is not in the conservative blood...we aren't part of the "Poor-Me Crowd." We know what kind of policies should be pursued, let's stop whining and start working for those.
Huck's stances in the primaries are an excellent source, especially the pro-family, Energy Independence and FairTax stances. Let's let McCain (and the GOP) know these are important to us. Let's talk to our family and friends, register to vote, blog for the GOP, and actually take control of this political process (the way we Huck supporters did in the primaries...remember the Huckaboom? .... let's make it clear the reason for the boom was the policies, not simply the man!)

Mike,
I was planning to write you a letter with what I thought would be some very effective campaign commercials for you and John McCain to run on (should he select you). One would have the idea of McCain running against (not so much Obama) but the incredibly unpopular congress. It would involve the incredible amount of "pork barrel" spending that Congress engages in. Maybe somehow or other McCain with a veto pen could be fighting off lots and lots of "pork barrels". Toss your buddy Chuck into the commercial and maybe also Arnold ... and you could have some good commercials and not even lay a glove on Obama. And McCain is going to look cranky if he keeps fighting Obama. Why shouldn't McCain rather attack the fiscally irresponsible GOP track record and then ask the obvious question. "If things are this bad when the Republicans control both houses of congress and the Presidency ... what do you think will happen if the Democrats control both houses of congress with large majorities and control the Presidency?"
With all the reckless spending that has been going on - and will rapidly increase under Democratic total control - don't we need a fiscally responsible conservative?
And Perot is back talking about the deficit.
[URL]http://perotcharts.com/[/]
If fiscally responsible McCain can get an endorsement from Perot - or at least a "funny lecture" on one of McCain's commercials it might help pull in some of the 20% of the people that voted for Perot when he ran for office. But no ... I had to read and respond to Bill talking about the Jewish started ACLU and defend a grandma (Donna Lee) who Bill likes to attack, slander and try to deceive.

It isn't surprising that President and Mrs. Bush are aglow these days--he is about to "retire" from the world's MOST stressful job, and the nation has not seen a repeat of the horrendous terrorist attacks at the beginning of his administration. Thanks for pointing out what an attractive first couple we have.

Bill,
I see you are back at your duplicitous ways!
Big you, taking on Grandma Donna Lee, and accusing her of advocating the homosexual agenda. Are you working for Romney or more likely Act-Up or some similar gay group or are you causing trouble on your own accord? Your string of deceptions and lies spans posts to posts and different personalities as well (at least as Jake Long).
You have such hubris claiming to be 100% certain of peoples intentions and 100% certain you are right. But, I know that you are just playing with us - trying to put the agenda where you think it will most damage Mike and the Christian cause. No Christian accuses others of fighting against the principles, beliefs and scriptures of the "Christian Right" - you are an outsider trying to make us look bad.
Any true Christian knows that you should not "Bear false witness against your neighbor". Yet you do this time after time after time and bait and troll and insult.
You are corrupt. Your statements are subtle lies.
Let me show others the falsehood in one of your statements below.
-----------------------------------------
"I remember some posts you made earlier where you were strongly advocating that homosexual sin is no worse than heterosexual sin. That is one of the main arguments of the homosexual agenda, because they then say that they are the equal of heterosexuals and so they should be accepted and so homosexual marriage should be legal etc."
--------------------------------------------------------This isn't true Bill. The "homosexual agenda" does not generally push the idea of "sin". So they aren't claiming that their "sin" is equal to a "heterosexual sin". And how you get from someone supposedly claiming "sins" are equal to say that the sin should be "accepted" is through deception and not logic.
You are here to cause trouble.
There has been been a hint on these HPAC blogs that Romney supporters have been making derogatory comments on what is happening here on the Huckpac site. I hope not. If someone comes onto this forum and causes trouble - and people get wind of snickering from the Romney camp - it isn't that big a leap of logic to assume that the Romney people are behind this. Now, I may end up supporting Romney at some point in the future - especially if he becomes a more loving and humble individual - but after the rough campaign that he just waged - I would like to see Mitt and his people play nice for a while. So, no I am not accusing Mitt or his people of doing wrong here - I am just saying this isn't the proper time to start criticizing what is happening here - especially since you don't know the story and the biases of the person doing the troublemaking. If we know a rock is thrown through a window ... let us not look out the window to see Romneyites laughing at us. Romneyites should be trying to bring the Republican party together not destroying other parts of it!
We are all getting of your tired of your evil Bill! I have enough experience online to know you are not sincere but are playing games. You are trying to make us look bad by pretending to be one of us and acting bad.
And as for your scripture references (I say this for others sake not yours - because as you demonstrated you have no concern for any commands in scripture - given your repeated slander) people should be aware of Luke 19:2 Where Jesus said "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today."
Jesus didn't immediately start berating him for his sins! He let Zacchaeus make the right decisions on his own.
As I said with you (and I've monitored you for a long time) you have taken every opportunity to use terms like "the Christian Right" and call people "Jewish" whether or not they are. (You never responded to Rick Mave calling you on your assertion that a certain methodist politician was "Jewish". You seemingly innocently drop the words "aetheist" and "Jewish aetheist" whenever you can.
Let everyone be aware he is not innocent!
If people don't know who to believe, consider the raw numbers. Bill Rocker accuses almost half a dozen people here of treason to the Christian cause. All who care to comment on Bills' slander know and have exposed what he is doing. This is tiring. I would hope that Huckpac might keep this obvious liar and troublemaker off these blogs unless they are busy unraveling his corrupt scheme and searching out his real identity.

I voted for Mike Huckabee here in TN and I was happy to do it, however now I am disappointed with his support of John McCain.
Currently I have no plans of voting for McCain. And I don't want to see Obama win, but I don't want to see McCain win either.
Though I was very supportive of Mike Huckabee his support of McCain is more likely to change the way I view him than to change the way I view McCain.
Alan Keyes was right about McCain in 2000, and it is still true in 2008. McCain is not Prolife. At best he is halfway towards being passively Prolife. And McCain has been a complete politican on the issue by flip flopping yet not acknowledging it.
Your tax dollars are going to support the destorying of human embryos now, thanks to McCain. Short of a third party win, or a miracle, it is going to happen now apparently.
There will never be a needed federal marriage amendment with McCain. The continueing trend of allowing gay marriage in states will continue to grow as it has for the last couple of years.
Therefore please all of you people who may be social conservatives out there, refuse to vote for McCain. Republicans have gone the wrong way during this Primary and have downplayed the importance of social conservative issues and have assumed that they would have the support of social conservatives no matter who they nominate. If you vote for their nominee you will be sending them the message that they were right and can nominate whoever they wish and you will support them.
Personally, I'm glad that the Prolife democrat won in Mississippi. That type of thing is very good for us and very bad for the GOP. I hope he keeps his seat in november and I might even campaigne for him. The more it happens the better. They ignored you, they hated you, and they took you for granted.
When this happens it sends the message to them that they were wrong. They have spent all Primary tells us we need them, and that they don't have to make our issues a priority. But as long as there are prolife democrats, it is clear, the opposite is true. The GOP needs us, we don't need them.

My response to Town Hall's Matt Lewis and his "message to Huckabee":
"Equality" is not achievable in our culture, or any culture for that matter. There is no level playing field in politics or any other human endeavor, so the Republicans are going to have to adjust their strategy accordingly, as Huckabee has advised. Thinking that "demonizing" Obama is proof that we have achieved equality is a naive and dangerous philosophy.
The election scenario that has presented itself this time around is one of the reasons that Huckabee would have been the best candidate to go head-to-head with either Obama or Clinton. Of all the GOP candidates, only Huckabee had the nerve, wit, and cleverness to meet either the first black or woman nominee head on without sounding like your stereotypical white guy that is out of touch with mainstream America.
In my Nov. 7, 2008 post, I said "Just as Reagan defused Carter in 1980 with his famous "There you go again..", the men who battle Hillary (or Obama for that matter) must be able to deftly point to her permanent victim card status and make no apologies later." Barack Obama poses the same victim card status, as Michelle Obama has repeatedly reminded everyone in the primaries. John McCain does not possess the necessary tools either verbally or psychologically to deal the the new paradigm presented in this election. -

The article below is for those that have indicated that they would not vote in the upcoming presidential election. They may just wish to learn who will be voting.
NEWS ARTICLE: SHREVEPORT TIMES – June 18, 2008DEMOCRATIC VOTER REGISTRATION DIRIVE SWAMPS ELECTION OFFICIALS
An aggressive Democratic voter registration drive in Louisiana is troubling election officials who say a flood of new applications – some apparently fraudulent – have strained recourses.
Ernie Roberson, registrar of Caddo Parish, said problems began May 28, when a representative of Voting is Power – a group funded by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee – dropped a stack of registration cards on the front counter of his office.
Since then, he’s received about 8,000 registrations from the group, which he says makes him suspicious. “It is very hard to find that many unregistered voters in Caddo Parish,” he said.
Nearly 700 of the applications came from felons, Roberson said he notified those applicants that they must present a Department of Corrections release letter to be eligible to vote.
He said he was left with 2,877 forms after removing the felon’s applications and forms that were duplicate, incomplete or belonged to other parishes (i.e. counties). When he tried to process the remaining forms, he said 999 were kicked back because they contained an incorrect Social Security or driver’s license number. “When you get 34 percent of the applications back, the red flags go up,” he said.

I agree with Doctor David's assessment and hope that Ronna Wikert and others who believe demonizing Barack Obama is a wise thing to do, please reconsider based on what came off the Bloomberg.com wires after interviewing Mike Huckabee in Japan:
June 18 (Bloomberg) -- Former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee warned members of his party that any attempt to undermine presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama by ``demonizing'' him would backfire.
``The Republicans will make a fundamental, if not fatal mistake, if they seek to win the election by demonizing Barrack Obama,'' Huckabee told reporters in Tokyo. ``Don't underestimate the extraordinary, substantive moment that Barack Obama's nomination represents in our country.''
Huckabee, 52, dropped out of the Republican nomination race on March 4, paving the way for presumptive nominee Arizona Senator John McCain. Huckabee is considered a potential choice for McCain's running mate.
``The truth is that the vice presidency seems to be a job nobody wants and nobody ever turns down,'' said Huckabee, who is visiting university campuses and meeting business groups in Japan. ``I'm not seeking it, and that's the truth.''
Huckabee said comments he made on NBC's ``Meet the Press'' program last month, in which he praised McCain, were misinterpreted as a desire to become vice president.
Whom McCain chooses for the position should depend on his strategy to defeat Obama, he said.
If McCain, 71, believes he should challenge Obama in states such as New York and New Jersey ``then I probably wouldn't be chosen for the ticket,'' Huckabee said. If McCain wants to strengthen his support in the South ``then frankly, if not me, a person with a similar background to me makes sense,'' he said.
Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, former Ohio congressman and Bush administration budget director Rob Portman, Utah Governor Jon Huntsman and onetime rival candidate Mitt Romney are all expected to be on McCain's list of potential vice presidents.
Neither Obama's race nor McCain's age will be a deciding factor in the election, he said. U.S. economic woes will be the top priority for voters in November, Huckabee said. A recent surge in gasoline prices is proof the U.S. should increase its energy independence.
``It's affecting the capacity of people to put food on their tables,'' he said.

Hey Gov.,
I just read a quote from a press conference you gave in Japan....the one about how you can't go to the prom until the football captain asks you so you're not about to go out and buy an outfit.
It was definitely humorous...and you'd make a great VP...but I don't think the image of you in a prom dress is really what we're looking for. (Though, perhaps it could help with the California vote...)
Hope things are well with you and yours.

Since you stopped running for the presidency,

I hope you learn a lot of interesting Japanese culture,
technology, and ideas while you're there.Sincerely,

The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the President. In essence 2/3 of the citizenry just ain’t happy and want a change.
So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, “What are we so unhappy about?”read more ........

We're all speaking for Mike here, but I think he would approve, and I believe his is a winning message because, as you say, it is in touch with reality.
Ronna Wikert: I cannot agree with you. Ugliness, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. Mike has already said clearly that he differs dramatically with Obama, most significantly in the extent to which the government should intrude into our daily lives. There is no need to belittle Obama personally, and to do so only reflects negatively on the detractor.

Re: Ardan Wilson's post
I don't think there's any question that Mike H. is socially conservative, as most are saying here. However, I would classify Mike H. is an economic moderate, in that he, as a Christian, believes in helping and caring for the poor and acknowledging that we are the custodians of our environment.
Mike H. has broken away from the supply side ideologues who trumpet charge card economics that has caused record deficits, lowering of our dollar causing record gasoline prices. Somehow, these Wall Street credit card deficit spenders have somehow convinced Republicans that those who place a priority on balanced budgets, as Republicans used to, are no longer legitimate economic conservatives. Ronald Reagan raised taxes when deficits were becoming too great, putting economic realities ahead of ideological theory. Republicans lost for a good reason in 2006, and they had better learn their lesson of what being conservative really means, and forsake their neo-con version as soon as possible.

Come on Mike..........
I heard you and Janet were in Japan but I also heard about your ever-incessant, uncalled for and undeserved praise of Barack Obama. If I didn't know better I might think you were actually endorsing him with all that slobbering you did in your talk. I don't think it is necessary for you to grovel at his feet; after all he does (I think??) have different issues, and agendas than most all of what yours are correct? You don't have to slam him into the ground, but to kiss his behind as so many of the other empty-headed obamiacs out there who have been brainwashed by his empty speeches is very unpleasant for me to hear. I believe him to be an ultra-left, very unscrupulous, black agenda-driven, racist, elitist, Anti-American, Anti-flag socialist with a Muslim background, and a gay rights advocate who supports and promotes partial birth abortion, amnesty for illegals, thinks terrorists should have free council in American courts, doesn't support drilling for oil to help us get free of foreign oil, wants to tax, tax, tax take more and more of our freedoms with the smart card, etc., wants to force everyone to have health Insurance whether they can afford it or not, sat in church and listened as his pastor say God dam* America and diss Whitey, etc., etc., etc. and is a very bad choice for candidate for the office of the Presidency of the United States. I don't care what color his skin is, but I do care about who he is and what he stands for, and none of it is good. Not one single thing about the man is good in my opinion. So, the bottom line is this.... even though I stood behind you and believed in what you said from the first time I heard you speak, if you continue to grovel for Barack "Hussein" Obama, I will withdraw my ssupport of you, as I will have to believe that you are not being honest with one side or the other here, and I am not alone in this thinking. So, are you, or are you not what and who you originally projected yourself to be? Or are you a snake oil salesman as so many claim?
A disenchanted, dismayed, and disappointed supporter.....for now.

*****
Huck PAC is committed to helping Republicans regain control of the House and Senate, regain a majority of governorships and elect John McCain as the 44th President of the United States. You can be certain Huck PAC will support Republican candidates who are passionate advocates for tax reform, a strong national defense, real border security, life, the family, less government and individual liberty.
Our success depends on your participation.
****
Now, I would love to see Governor Huckabee as as the vp candidate this year; however, I wonder if he might not actually have greater influence if he were more free to pursue the path he appears to be taking right now.One thing is OBVIOUS--whether he is the vp candidate or not, supporting the stated goals of HuckPAC will be supporting Mike Huckabee in any role he fills.
A donation to HuckPAC OBVIOUSLY will help put OUR people in congress and in charge of state governments.
Many of us are doing a lot more to inform ourselves about candidates for state and local office so we can vote responsibly THAT, OBVIOUSLY is a GREAT side effect!
If Governor Huckabee had won the nomination, I imagine we would all be caught up in the excitement and campaigning with all our might to see him elected. I'm almost glad he didn't win. We are OBVIOUSLY going to be much more effective in supporting him if we take this opportunity to become involved in HuckPAC for the long haul.
I just donated another 20.08 to HuckPAC. IF YOU believe in the HuckPAC goals and want to show your continued commitment to supporting Governor Huckabee and other candidates who will stand with him, please take a minute and give something.

Obama numbered among 'false prophets'
Jody Brown - OneNewsNow - 6/18/2008 7:30:00 AMIn a column published last week, Cal Thomas took a verbal swing at Barack Obama's claim to be a committed Christian. "He can call himself anything he likes," wrote the syndicated columnist, "but there are certain markers among the evangelicals he is courting that one must meet in order to qualify for that label."
The "courting" that Thomas referred to is the Democratic presidential candidate's "Joshua Generation Project" -- his campaign's wooing of the conservative Christian vote, which in recent elections has tended to favor the Republican candidate. But "Obama is no Joshua," as the column title states. Thomas supports his argument by quoting from an interview the Illinois senator gave to Chicago Sun-Times religion editor Cathleen Falsani.
"I'm rooted in the Christian tradition," Obama told Falsani. "I believe there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people." The latter part of that statement, says Thomas, would likely be viewed by most Christians as universalism.
Thomas concludes the column with biting criticism of Senator Obama's statement of faith:
"... [T]here is a clear requirement for one to qualify as a Christian and Obama doesn't meet that requirement," stated Thomas. "One cannot deny central tenets of the Christian faith, including the deity and uniqueness of Christ as the sole mediator between God and Man and be a Christian. Such people do have a label applied to them in scripture. They are called 'false prophets.'"
Thomas's syndicated column is published by hundreds of U.S. newspapers and websites. He also appears regularly on Fox News Channel as well as numerous radio stations with a syndicated commentary.

Jill Stanek has written an article on abortion and Barack Obama for World Net Daily that is eye opening. B. Hussein Obama was on a panel that listened to the testimony of Mrs. Stanek and approved of this "Comfort Room." Here is an excerpt:
"That year, I described Christ Hospital's Comfort Room, unveiled in December 2000 to counter my public statements that personnel were shelving babies to die in the department's soiled utility room next to dirty linens, bloody and biohazardous waste, and a urinal.Four months ago, Christ Hospital unveiled its "Comfort Room." So now I can no longer say that live aborted babies are left in our Soiled Utility Room to die. We now have this prettily wallpapered room complete with a First Foto machine, baptismal gowns, a footprinter and baby bracelets, so that we can offer keepsakes to parents of their aborted babies. There is even a nice wooden rocker in the room to rock live aborted babies to death."
How easily they sugar coat murder. And obviously they understand that these babies are people if they can provide photos and baptismal certificates. How little Obama and the rest of them value life.

Hello Gov. Mike and Janet:
I am so glad I decided to check your website today. It is so good to hear about how you are and to see what you have been doing. My family and I are so proud of you and your family for continuing the "fight for right" in our country and supporting good candidates. Keep up the good work.WE have also been praying for Iowa. Floods and tornadoes. Our town, Manhattan, was hit hard by a tornado June 11 and 45 homes were destroyed and businesses, but no one was hurt. It is the first time in years that a tornado has actually touched down in our city limits. It was just 2 miles from our house.
As a family, we have been part of the clean up crews that go out and help pick up debris. It has been an emotional experience, but we have seen Kansas folks come together, seriously work to get these folks the help they need. It truly is a picture of love and sacrifice.
We had a lab cover from Chapman high school found in our city park . Chapman Kansas, 30 miles from us, had the same tornado destroy 70% of their town and one 21 year old girl was killed! It is really heartbreaking, but again, they have that "can-do" attitude and are going to re-build. We really do need each other.
It has been hard in the races here in Kansas. The Kansas State Board of Education is one such race. The opponent fellow is Chris Renner, a Democrat, running against Kathy Martin. Kathy wants to see Evolution debated as the theory it is in our public schools in Kansas. She is also for abstinence education. This fellow, a homosexual, is for the opposite. And is making Kathy, an experienced 30 year teacher and current Board member, sound like she wants to take over the schools and create a theocracy that would harm our kids! It is so absurd! What is sad is some folks agree with him! Anyway, Kathy Martin is truly an honorable lady and needs to be on the Kansas State Board of Education. I think she has a good chance. We need to support her.
Also, Duncan Hunter was here in Manhattan June 9, supporting Jim Ryan for congressman. He stood at the fireplace of the Addair's house here in Manhattan for pictures with Jim and supporters. Just 4 days later, that same house was leveled to the ground by the tornado.
We want the Republicans to take Kansas by storm, but not so literally!
Until next time, God bless and keep you in His tender care.

To Harriet Summers: Of course, you are correct. However, it is sometimes hard not to take the bait when you are in the mood to do battle!
I just read of a new internet VP poll on CBS News this morning, sponsored by Exxon Mobil. It listed 10 Republican candidates, #1 of which was Mitt Romney. Nowhere on that list is the name of Mike Huckabee. There is a place to vote for "other", and to date, "other" has quite a few votes. I wrote CBS to express my feelings over the total omission of Huckabee when he has WON almost all the previous internet VP polls. I was still in the afterglow of that insult when Ardan Wilson's comment appeared.
I hope others will go to CBS News, vote for "other" in the EXXON Mobil VP internet poll, and tell CBS News what you think of their poll.

You've seen all the love for Tim Russert this past week: Love and devotion for Russert's authenticity. Having followed his career for 16 years, I have found that Mike Huckabee is the picture of authentic. The more America gets to know Huckabee, the more devoted and supportive they would be to the GOP ticket come November.

A REMINDER:
On Internet forums, baiting is sometimes used in attempts to empty forums or reduce a forum's usage. This type of baiting is usually done to make the atmosphere of a forum appear unpleasant or to make forum owners, moderators and long-time users look foolish. A person using this kind of baiting may post comments to elicit rude responses from prominent members of a forum, thus making the responding member or members appear as trolls or flamers to bystanders. As a result, forum users in general may become disgusted and leave the forum.DO NOT TAKE THE BAIT!! BE WISE!

Ardan Wilson,
From one Wilson to another, I strongly disagree with you, but at the same time welcome your opinion. It is my opinion that Gov. Huckabee would also welcome it, that's just the kind of person he is. Have a good day, and enjoy reading the posts. There are some really good writers on here.

Arden Wilson-
Your statements that Huckabee is not a Christian or conservative are not true. What do you base this belief on? Further more, Huckabee is not a social liberal, in fact his voting record states just the opposite:
Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act (1997 Act 984)
Fetal Protection Act (1999 Act 1273)
Physician Assisted Suicide Ban Act (1999 Act 394)
Woman’s Right to Know Act (2001 Act 353)
Safe Haven Act (2001 Act 236)
Choose Life Specialty Plate (2003 Act 344)
Human Cloning Ban (2003 Act 607)
Right to View Ultrasound Test (2003 Act 1189)
Right to Receive Nutrition & Hydration (2003 Act 1322)
Parental Consent for Minor Abortion Act (2005 Act 537)
Unborn Child Pain Awareness & Prevention Act (2005 Act 1696) -

Ardan Wilson: The dictionary defines 'conservative' as "disposed to preserve existing conditions and institutions, resisting change". To the extent that the United States is founded on legal principles that follow from traditional Christian morality, it is hard to imagine someone more conservative than Mike Huckabee. He proclaims the sanctity of life and marriage as fundamental to his crusade. His emphasis on being President of ALL the people, not just the rich and the powerful, is a direct result of that Christian orientation. He sees the breakdown of the family as the cause of the decline in traditional society. His call to not demonize Obama also follows from a Christian orientation to race relations. (He is right about that as political strategy, as well.)
True, he does not appear to be one of those for whom the law of the jungle in economic relations is standard operating procedure, where wealth is progressively concentrated in the few, under the guise of "economic freedom". Those so-called conservatives are responsible for our current economic dilemma. Their control over our society in recent decades could be the direct cause of Barack Obama being elected the next President.
If conservative to you means supportive of Adam Smith's "invisible hand" with no conscience behind it, then, yes, Mike Huckabee is no conservative. He is just a man of the people with malice toward none, and charity for all, who could save America when it mosts needs saving.

I had another thought on that MSNBC poll that they have temporarily closed in respect for Tim Russert.A lot of us have commented on the unfairness of it. When the week began with Huckabee and Romney being pitted against each other; it seemed like it was no time and Romney led with 58% to Huckabee's 42%. For a whole week those percentages stayed just the same, no matter how many HuckaSUPPORTERS went over and voted. We all know that something is radically wrong and unfair about this.
Even though they said that it was Tim Russert's idea for this polling; We know that Tim would NEVER approve of the way it was being handled. All I can say is that his cohorts who admire and respect this man need to respond in the manner that Tim would as in: INTEGRITY, HONESTY, FAIRNESS, and KINDNESS. (Without self or party motivation)
I believe that we can pray about all things. Let us pray for the corrections that need to be made .....WILL INDEED ..... and the spirit of Honesty and Fair-play will rule ! ! !
Someone, might add "Well, good luck!" I know it is easy to be cynical .... I have been .... but let us try some prayer.
So far, I do not see anyone on the Msnbc network able to step up to the plate that Tim vacated.
Thank-you ....... Jill Anderson

Wilson, ardan, Thanks for your opinion and paying us a visit but I am also from the south and every one I know wants Huckabee not only to help win the south but with Huckabe the whole country wins. I have never seen so many people talking about the Presidential race in passing, everyone brings it up that I talk to so here is what im hearing. Allot says they will only go vote if Huckabee is on the ticket. No one around here likes Romney I MEAN NO ONE. Even the ones who voted for Fred T. and Ron. says they wished they would have voted for Mike But then their is allot and I mean allot that say there going to vote for Oboma even some who usually vote R. and i cant change ther mind. ( I get around a good bit so i hear alot)
But it is a fact that Huckabee owns the south McCain should know this after his spanking down here. LOL

I'm a little disturbed by what I see as government bashing (including of our President) over the floods in the MidWest. There is little "the government" can do to stop weather conditions. There were record snow levels in much of this area this past winter, as well as weeks and weeks of rain. Levees were built in the past based on previous weather conditions and not on what is now being described as a "500 year flood". Would that we had the ability to see years into the future, but at this point that is still God's domain. Let's help where we can. I believe that God presents us these challenges to give us the opportunity to be true Christians---helping each other and turning to him in our time of need. I don't think the government can do that for us. The government can and is stepping in to help with safety and rescue issues using a multitude of government agencies and servicemen and women. Let's not denigrate their efforts.

Well I see Gov. Huckabee as a true Christian Consertive (sp) person who would never or so far has not said an unkind word about any of the people who ran in any of the primaries. He and his wife Janet have set a perfect example of how to run their lives and how not to be in the mix of mud-slinging politics.. That is very refreshing indeed.. My hat is off to both of them for words of encouragement and for being our voice..

I am a Christian, a Conservative and from the south and I just wanted to state that I grow tired of Mr. Huckabee making statements like "that McCain would be more likely to pick him if he chose to focus on winning over Southern and conservative voters"
I don't see Mr. Huckabee as conservative and I don't see him banging his guitar as a steward of Christianity either. I see Mr. Huckabee as a social Liberal that only were the name Christian to draw older people into his camp. His rants such as that we should say nothing bad about Obama because he is the first black candidate is just plain naive. I certainly don't like Mccain but I fear he is better than Mr. Huckabee would have been.
I hope Mr. Mccain chooses a true Conservative, which in my on small opinion certainly Mr. Huckabee is not......
Just my thoughts

Here is what I found today..
Wed Jun 18, 2:32 AM ET
TOKYO (AFP) - Former US presidential contender Mike Huckabee urged his fellow Republicans on Wednesday not to denigrate Democrat Barack Obama, saying they should celebrate the historic moment of a black candidate.
"Republicans will make a fundamental if not fatal mistake if they seek to win the election by demonising Barack Obama," Huckabee told a news conference on a visit to Tokyo. The former Arkansas governor said that, having grown up in the segregated South, he never thought he would see an African-American win the nomination of a major party for the US presidency.
"I do not want to have anyone misrepresent or miss the opportunity to celebrate what I think is a landmark achievement, not just for Barack Obama, but for the United States of America," he said.
The country was able "to get to a point where we did not see his colour but we truly saw his charisma, his message and what he brought to the campaign trail," Huckabee said.
Huckabee, who won the first nomination contest in Iowa on the back of support from evangelical Christians, said he hoped Republican John McCain would defeat Obama but urged his party to highlight policy differences and not race.
Huckabee said the troubled US economy would be the top campaign issue and doubted that Obama's race would come into play.
"When people are really hurting -- and they are right now -- they're not looking at a person's race," he said.
Huckabee declined comment on whether he wanted the vice presidential nomination, other than to say that McCain would be more likely to pick him if he chose to focus on winning over Southern and conservative voters.
"You can't accept an invitation to the prom until the football captain asks you. So I'm not going to go out and buy the outfit just yet," Huckabee said.
God Speed Mike n Janet
Stay safe and enjoy your trip!

Ok, troops! It's time to get to work, actively again! I know we were all making regular calls to McCain 703-418-2008 and asking for McCain/Huckabee and sending emails to john@johnmccain.com and rickdavis@johnmccain.com andsending letters to John McCain, PO Box 16118, Arlington, Va. 22215. We have gotten so busy voting in polls and blogging here that we have slowed down in our pursuit of helping get Mike on the ticket with Senator McCain. It's time to make those calls, send this information out to your contact groups and ask for them to all do the same. I have written a letter and have it ready to go with a stamp and just have to drop in the mail. I called McCain today and so did my sister. I have been sending emails over and over. Please do the same. We have to bump up our efforts as the decision time draws near. Mike's gig on Fox makes his vp stock rise! We need to make sure we mention that to McCain's camp.
Another way to support a McCain/Huckabee ticket is to join save08.org. Please go there now and join under Linda Rayborn. This is a site combining McCain and Huckabee supporters who want to see a joint ticket. The first 250 people to sign up will get free McCain/Huckabee bumper stickers. Go now to join and then tell all your friends to do the same. Power in numbers.....
