Most of the national media today says that President Obama has written off independent voters in an effort to shore up his base. While he might think that is a good strategy for his campaign, it sure isn’t good for America! He is President of the United States, not President of the liberal left!
The President says we need to raise taxes on the “rich.” The truth is that most of those who fall into his definition of “rich” are small business owners struggling to meet payroll and keep their employees out of the unemployment line.
The vast majority of Americans know that the last thing we can afford to do in this economy is to tax the very people who we are depending on to put Americans back to work.
If the President were listening to the American people, he would acknowledge today that Obamacare was a mistake that is going to add trillions to our deficit and keep the job creators from hiring or expanding their businesses. He should ask Congress to repeal this bad law that, frankly, no one likes and we simply can’t afford. It wouldn’t be a great challenge; he already has the votes in the U.S. House of Representatives, and is only four votes shy in the Senate! However, like you, I’m not holding my breath!
You’re not a NASCAR driver Mr. President, so stop making left turns. Start using common sense and we will get Americans back to work.

Wibel, Barbara 09/28/2011 09:52 PM. Credibility is, as you say, in the details. Please note, therefore, that the trillions to which you referred was actually in the fifth paragraph!
Just kidding. But if we can understand the main point, we can usually be tolerant of small errors that don't change the meaning of the communication, wouldn't you agree?

I believe that this is one of the great moral issues of our day.
Contrary to a popular myth continually fed by corrupt media, the Democrat Party is not for poor people. It uses poor people like a commodity to enrich their political supporters; to enrich their unions, to enrich their buddies who bring “development” to the city, to enrich their organizations who provide “services” to the poor (including Planned Parenthood), and to enrich the businesses that save money and get around the Democrat Party’s excessive regulation of the work place by hiring illegal immigrants.
The “affordable” housing that Democrats paid ACORN hundreds of millions of dollars to promote to poor people included interest only and variable rate loans that are easier to default on and wreck your credit; not the stable fixed rate 30 yr and 15 yr mortgages that most middle class borrowers use.
The public schools that Democrats push onto poor people graduate only half of the kids in Chicago and in Baltimore only 66% of the kids who want to graduate can pass 10th grade level tests in 12th grade. Even the most basic minimum standard for teachers and principals cannot be enforced due to pressure from the Democrat Party’s union leadership supporters. Children in public schools go through a kind of russian roulette education, where politized curriculum and holes in teacher effectiveness, greatly diminish the educational potential of many children especially disadvantaged children whose parents cannot compensate for these types of deficiencies in the public schools.
I’ve heard that 75% of African American males drop out of school in Baltimore City. They compete with illegal immigrants for jobs in Maryland, 1 of the 4 states that allow illegal immigrants to obtain drivers licenses.
In Chicago, the first Walmart that finally opened in 2006 after several years of intense union opposition, received 15,850 applications for 450 jobs.
If poor people knew how much money is supposedly spent on their behalf and NEVER reaches them, I believe they wouldn’t vote for Democrats for a generation.

Mike, don't waste your breath. Obama won't stop making those left turns because he intends to keep trying to (in his own words) keep bringing America down some notches and even us out with the rest of the nations out there. As he stated "America shouldn't be elevated over any other nation".
I have stated many times that Obama may be many things, but one thing he isn't is American. He has no respect for our constitution, he perverts our laws and morals.
If America doesn't stand up and vote for anyone but Obama and we end up with four more years of him. I shudder to think of the consequences.

What you said makes so much sense, Governor. I only wish the candidates we have on stage could articulate these truths as well as you.

Thank you, Governor Huckabee, for standing for Americans against over-taxation. We must have relief to survive as small business people.
A couple years ago a friend and I attended the Tea Party gathering in Wichita. One of the ladies I met was owner with her husband of a small dry cleaning company. They had been working without a salary for themselves, just to keep their employees paid. They had to give up one store in the chain and were afraid more would go.
Taxation and unnecessary regulations are eating up productivity in our nation. This hurts our families and the economy, and a weak economy impacts every area, including national defense.
We need a President who, like you, understands the needs of Americans and what it takes to make us a strong economy again. (Am still praying you will run at some point!)
I hope the Fair Tax gains more traction. People are crying out under the burden of big government. They find the IRS a cruel, relentless taskmaster.
We want to be able to keep more of our hard-earned money to care for our families, grow jobs, and donate to our own choice of charities, not Uncle Sam's!

Mr.Obama cannot and will not admit to this mistake and ask for repeal simply because right or wrong, it is the only thing he has actually accomplished in three years.

This is a very good post, but please correct the error in paragraph 4 to make it perfect. "...a mistake that we is going to add trillions....) Credibility is in the details.

I agree with your comments as depressing as it is. My family are all blue collar/retired veterans. My father spent time in Vietnam and was exposed to agent orange which resulted in diabetes and strokes at the age of 55. I have worked, sweat and bled for my 1600 square foot home and vehicles that have well over 150,000 miles and resulted in chronic back pain. And to think that the top 1450 millionaires and billionaires will refuse to expand job creation and growth for our country because they don't want to contribute with the rest of us and pay taxes. As a christian it's insulting. I'm afraid I can mo longer support the republican party based on my Christian beliefs. How can you? How can anyone desert the ones who made this country great. When our minds over ride our hearts we are in trouble. I can truly say I am ashamed of the direction our leaders minds have taken us. How can we abandon all that our forefathers have given us. However I still can make argument for the wealthiest 1 percent of the nation not wanting to pay taxes to a government that can't utilize any type of fiscal responsibility at all. So if you can't beat them, join them, right? So I should claim 10 dependants on my tax with holding forms and not pay in either. I should start a web page and encourage others to join in. Would that get there attention. What do you think? I say give caesar what's Caesars. But mark my words, this country will fall because of the mind set of the wealthiest 1 present and all their puppeteers supporting them. It won't be me, may God have mercy on our souls.

The sad fact is Mr. Obama is the president of the liberal left. It is only their views he seems to align himself with.
